- Organizers of an effort to recall Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price were out in force on Sunday gathering signatures. Some of the signatures were obtained by going door to door in the County, and others through a sign-up station manned in West Oakland.

My mind is blown that Jarin's murderer is out and about after just two years in prison thanks to Price.
I signed the petition. Crime is rampant in Oakland. The D.A. is not the only person responsible, but she is a big part of it. We ought to recall the mayor as well, and restore Police Chief Armstrong.

I feel bad for her because she's clearly delusional. I think people believed in her vision because she got voted in, but her execution of the vision doesn't work. Most of our politicians, judges, DAs etc. aren't the most intelligent people in society, so their big plans fall flat. We need more scientists and engineers to step up and govern, because they will know how to pivot when a plan just isn't working and will never work.

It’s a good start, but it might a little too late. It’s hard to ramp up charges against criminals even when you change the D.A., it takes time to build cases and begin cleaning house. So who’s going to appoint the new D.A., the mayor? The mayor was also for no bail, restorative justice. Oakland is in for at least a decade of hurt before it gets better.
You have to get rid of/vote out the terrible "social justice" laws that have caused more crime in addition to getting rid of the soft-on-crime DAs!

In the middle of the worst crime wave to occur in Alameda County and especially Oakland, politicians reduced the number of police officers (defund the police) and citizens decide to allow more criminal to remain on the streets (criminal justice reform). What a terrible job people.

I don't know about you, but on my strolls personally getting home without having robbed someone or murdered them I feel I'm missing out on what this vibrant city has to offer. No it definitely isn't the same Oakland. I lived in Oakland for 6 years off of Mac and High and never felt unsafe driving around town the way I did two weeks ago just to get some gas off of Fruitvale. Gentrification and failed politicians like Pamela Price have made Oakland unsafe and has allowed repeat felon offenders go free despite being arrested multiple times for the same types of crimes. And this doesn't JUST affect Oakland.
