Enjoy that RB67 Pro S.. I’ve been using mine for over 25 years and love it. Yes, it’s got some weight to it, but quality comes with some trade offs. With a prism finder, a few other lenses and other accessories, you’ll continue to learn to love “the beast”!
I have both the Pentax 67 and RB67, I love them both. The Pentax 67 is just more portable than the rb67 and with the higher shutter speeds it’s my go to outdoor portrait camera. But there is nothing like looking into the ground glass of the Rb67 and using the bellows to focus.
I do miss the Pentax at times, the portability was something I didn't think I'd miss since the weights are similar between the two cameras but the RB is so awkward to hold
@@taranspictures I just put on an old guitar strap on my Pentax 67 and it works well. The Rb67 I have to carry it in a camera bag, but when I bring it out, I bring out three lenses the 65mm, 90mm, and the 180mm with an extra back. That’s what I love about difference in each camera and justifies me owning them lol
Thanks for the video, this thing is a beast though, more so than the Pentax 67....You can also get a WLF for the pentax that reduces its weight compared to the usual prism viewfinder; the wlf is handily better for glass wearers like myself. Im still tempted especially as the prices don't seem too bad at present here in the Uk. Right, onto Snowdonia. Keep up the good work though, I am enjoying your content.
The wlf looks good for the pentax if you shoot in landscape oriention, but like I mentioned in the video, trying to use a wlf in portrait orientation is a nightmare😂 also thank you very much!
Had my RB for damn near 30 years now, with a bunch of lenses and accessories. For hand held, I'd recommend a grip, a prism finder and a motorized back, and some weight training! By far the best camera and system I've ever owned. As for DOF, 3.8 is about the same as 1.4 on 35mm.
Thanks for the perspective. I've been thinking about medium format camera but there very big ans expensive 😂 But I do want to try shooting with a waist level view finder. Ik nikon and edixa Reflex both have... Umm chest level view finders 😂. But your excitement really makes. Me wana try it out.
Honestly you can get some medium format cameras for relatively cheap. They really are worth the money, you will have so much fun and get some great photos along the way!
I used a hasselblad a few months ago to test one out properly and I really didn't like it, I would love to give one another go but my initial impression were very negative
I've owned one before and it was an amazing camera, probably my second favourite camera behind the RZ67. I didn't go for one for a few different reasons: they are super expensive, around 5-6 times more money than the RB67. They have the same problem that RZ67's have with old electronic components which means that if they go wrong and they electronic parts break, your camera is utterly useless. And finally the Mamiya 7 is a range finder which means you can't focus as close as you can with this camera. I feel the same way about the Mamiya 7 as I do with the RZ67, if I had the money spare and I don't mind taking the risk with the electronics then I would own one
I find that I didn't do this very often when I was using an RZ67 with two backs but it is definitely an advantage for a lot of people. Personally I go through waves of either only shooting colour or only shooting black and white
I look forward to your next video on this camera 'I sold my rb67 for this!!' I am 80% positive that's goin to happen.. anyone who likes to shoot wide open will eventually consider better options.. Meanwhile I love those BW pix ( my preference for BW is just what you shot - non constrasty ) .. what film did you use?

Grdat stuff! I always wanted an rb67!!!!

Jeez that is a hell of a set up, your shoulders must be in agony😂

I don't think I could justify the weight haha
Ha Ha, Some people pay to go to a gym to lift weights.@@taranspictures
😂😂
The Pentax 67 is blooming brilliant. But yes, the RB67 is fun. Plenty of cool accessories & it’s Graflock compatible
I didn't know that
The 180mm f/4.5 is a great half-length and head & shoulder portrait lens.
A bit too zoomed in for my liking
@@taranspictures
If the 180 is too zoomed for your taste, try the 140mm f/4.5 macro or the 150mm f/4.
@@Narsuitus I'll have a look, I am quite interested in the 127mm, the photos that I have seen look great
I went with neck strap, pistol grip, monopod & multi angle grip when I need flash
That's one hell of a set up!
@@taranspictures at the very minimum, wack a monopod under it. If walking out about. Yours arms will thank u.

I would rather keep both
SMC 67 lenses are great with buttery subject separation
I do miss my Pentax, I realise now how much I loved the results
I have a Hasselblad 503cx.... I still had to buy a RB67

Why not the mamiya 7? Just curious. I don’t shoot film, but enjoy film videos :)

Interchangeable backs. one for color one for black and white.

Haha you weren't far off! And I used Kent mere 400 here
It's a studio camera
Yep, but I prefer it out the studio
Except for when you go for a walk with it, Which I do a lot.
You must be a millenial finding a 10 min video "super long" LOL :)
And you must not know that videos are edited down. So this was potentially a 30-40 minute recording edited down to fit best into the RUclips algorithm
You also just completely ignored the writing where it said it wasn't super long 😂
