How I Organize My Scripture Writings Month By Month

- When I first started Scripture Writing, I didn’t consider how I was going to organize all those months of work. Here’s how I ended up doing it and how I created a quick Scripture Writing Travel Tote.

I never heard of this but you are the best at it on YT. A while ago I would make like a cardboard sign to hang on the door knob, like a craft project and like maybe take The Lord is my Shepherd, and cut out sheep and flowers and make a sign and these are nice to give as gifts.

I love that I found you on RUclips. You have such a pleasant voice and countenance. I’ve been writing scripture a long time but never decorated it since I’m not a good artist at all. I can knit, crochet, and sew, but drawing/painting…haha no. One day I may show you my stick person wearing the armor of God or my stick person with arms lifting up praising God😆😜. Wow the page you read was written on my birthday and I wrote that scripture yesterday and have been wanting to trust God more and stop worrying. God is so good thank you. What a beautiful practice I am so inspired! And yesterday I got the idea to write a letter to God thanking him for all the things he’s done and to remind myself He is always working on bigger things for us and to have faith. And your message was like straight from God’s lips confirming I should do it.

I appreciate the tips you’ve learned over the years…😊 I’ve been putting those little round circle reinforcements on my notebook paper just to be sure it won’t tear as easily while in the 3-ring binder. I just do one page per day after I finish my page of writing.

You have inspired me to do scripture writing. I started this August with the theme Attitude. I had these writing journals from Hobby Lobby and I am using that as my scripture writing. I also look up words and write it at the bottom of my writing for the day and used the back of the page. I am learning and understanding my Bible better. Mind you I went to a convent where nuns thought and I studied about 5 books in the New Testament, but I do not remember it word for word as I had studied it. But as I am read the Bible the parables and some stories come back to me. I am a catholic, I have catholic bibles and also some of the new ones ex NIV and so on. Thanks again for your videos. I am still unpacking from my recent move and I found a cute Scripture Journaling Set I had bought from Ollie’s. I forgot all about it. It comes with a nice 112 page journal, wash tape, stickers, 3 double sided colored pencils, a felt tip pen and a 48 page project book for ideas. This is a perfect travel kit and it was only $3.99!!! I used to pack a big 31 bag filled with stickers, washi tape, etc with my big spiral journaling Bible. This kit with my Bible is all I really need. Wow thanks for this great idea. I’m going to use a tote at home. Lol. I have a basket at home but will also do this for when I want to move from downstairs to upstairs for my quiet time.

I'm with you about using only one side of the paper. I do the same in the journal I take to church to avoid bleeding and shadowing.
Miss Sherry, I am so enjoying your channel! I just joined the new Scripture Writing FB group and look forward to starting to join in. I've printed out the Scriptures of the Month. Yesterday, I attended the funeral of my dear SILs mother and the message of her step-grandson so touched my heart I asked for the verses he used at the start (didn't have my pen out at that time). I'm going to Scripture write them and make notes about what she meant to me. I would never have thought of that had it not been for starting to watch your channel so THANK YOU for the ministry you have on this channel!

My husband and I are already daydreaming about riding up the Blue Ridge when fall comes. He was born in Spruce Pine and his people are from Altapass. We enjoy visiting the Altapass Orchard for fudge, live music, beautiful views, delicious foods, and fresh apples and apple cider. I can smell that crisp mountain air now!
Great ideas!! I use the Daily Bread devotionals for my scripture writing, separating each month would be a practical way to organize...getting a small notebook for one month would be smart too...

I am truly enjoying this series. I have a Vera Bradley bag a little smaller than yours in my favorite color, red, that has been my "Bible Bag" for at least 15 years. Since mine goes to church with me I also include things like a small pack of tissues, breath mints and chapstick. One of the things I really like is that it is washable. I have been Scripture writing off and on for years. This year I purchased a planner where I keep daily things as well as my Scripture writing / study which I have found to be helpful to have both in one place. I have joined the FaceBook group but am intimidated by all the wonderful art. Drawing is not one of my talents. I remember you talking about the S.O.A.P. method of Bible Study. Earlier this week I saw a "new to me" method called B.L.E.S.S.E.D. that I am going to try as it looks pretty similar to how I record my Bible study now. Blessings!

My heart is full that I have found you. I have been journaling most all my life. It is my prayer journal and I do write scripture at the end of every days entry. I love the fact that you give that scripture writing its own page. I have started putting my scripture on a whole other separate page since I have been watching you. I enjoy the part where I can doodle pretty things on this page. Im a painter and a quilter and this is one more way to express my creativity. Thank you for being so transparent on this channel. Hello Dear Sherry, thank you for sharing these tips with us. I travel regularly to the hospital as I have multiple chronic health conditions. My kind brother William drives me. Sometimes it is William who is having an appointment and I like to wait out in the car. Usually I pray the Rosary or Chaplet of Divine Mercy Prayers or read. Now I will make a bag and like you enjoy some scripture writing. This is a super new hobby that is calming and good for me. I also feel cared for and as if I have a new friend in Jesus who understand me. 😮Sherry my hubby Matthew bought me the inspire prayer large print bible, i absolutely love it. I also ordered your brush pens you had on your storefront, do you use those often? Thanks for all of your encouragement ❤️. Are you still working in the large print bible, i didnt think it was THAT BIG, but i absolutely love it so much.
Hi Christal! I love all of my Inspire Creative Journaling Bibles. I have 6 of them. I am planning to share some of those Bibles on the channel before long. I do still work in them from time to time, but my writing and filming take much of my focus for the moment. Once I pray and have my own time with God, then write devotions and poetry and postings for my Facebook page, then create content for RUclips and film that, and then respond to emails and messages from Homespun friends, and then tend to my house and my family, my time is limited for many other things I would love to do!
I do use my KingArt dual tip markers. They are great to use for Scripture Writing. I don't use them much in my Bible. They can leave a heavier shadow on the backside of the pages. If I do use them, I use the brush tip side very lightly. My favorite pens for the Bible are Sakura Gelly Rolls and Pigma Micron Pens. I show the basic colors in this video...but the Gelly Rolls come in metallic colors, ice cream colors, and different options. In my Bibles, I use a combination of pencils with some accents in the Gelly Rolls and Micron pens and very light brush tips.

I so look forward to your new videos! My parents were not like yours, but this letter writing sounds like a beautiful practice that I would like to carry out with my children. I'm wondering if you might consider sharing some parts of what your parents wrote to you. That may be too personal, but I can't imagine what that would look like because that relationship didn't exist with my own parents.
Hi Annie! I can share some general information about what my parents wrote. My parents shared how grateful they were to have me for a daughter...and how thankful they were that I was following Jesus and staying in the Bible. They went on to say that my daily writings had inspired them and blessed their days over the entire year. They said some of my Scriptures had caused them to think of hymns, which they would often sing in raspy, morning voices. If they forgot the words, they would help each other remember them and doing so would bring up memories of their own childhoods and being in church and Vacation Bible School.
While each year's letter contained personal references, the content of the letters always expressed their love for me and their gratitude to the Lord for his goodness on all of us as a family.

I am New to Scripture writing

Hi Sheri, I watched your video first one I saw about scripture writing and on that particular day what I was reading was finishing up in the book of Matthew on the great commission so I thought we all write that down and then wrote down some thoughts that I had pertaining to that scripture And I wrote the whole Matthew 2816 through 20 and then I thought OK where do I go next and like you say it I’m only watched one of your videos and I thought well. I’ll just go onto the book of act and start writing there and so I’m just writing word for word the book of acts , I may have bid off more that I can chew, but I’m sticking with it and organization and all that will come as I progress in this endeavor. And I started out in a spiral notebook which has already become a problem because of it not wanting to Pages correctly , I’m not using any drawings because I don’t feel like I can draw. I use a little washy tape and a few stickers but primarily it’s just scripture writing. Thank you for the encouragement to get started in this concept that I am thought. Why would I write it when I have the Bible to read but I assume that it is really helped my not only comprehension but also memory of where it is and What it says then all that so thank you Sheri

I usually store the older ones on a shelf in a closet down our hallway. Recently, I pulled several out and placed them on a bookshelf so I could review them. Each year you write, you will find you need more space for storage. Lol.

I started in a notebook, but I think I'm going to start in my loose leaf notebook so I can not worry about what bleeds to the back side of the paper.
It really helped me to go to loose leaf paper, Zelda. And I could remove the sheet at any time and hang it on a mirror or fridge for my verse-of-the-day. Then the next week, I can easily change it out. And that loose leaf paper will go right back in the binder like before. It's the best method for me.

Hi Lindy. I almost always used a writing guide month to month. Sometimes, over the course of a year, a few verses might be repeated but that was ok by me. I wrote them again and soon committed them to memory. ♥

That's a Vera Bradley tote bag and it's a pattern that's no longer available. It's called Mesa Red.
Do you date your pages?
Typically I do but there are times when I don't. Since I keep everything together in a yearly binder, divided out by month, I sometimes leave the date off each page. I was thinking I might like to display some of my writings in my home eventually, and I would rather not have the date there in that case.
