    The reason you're not supposed to use fabric softener is the fabric softener coats the fibers that makes it less absorbent. That's why you're not supposed to use the fabric softener on towels.

    I LOVE the paperless towels! I've had some for over a year, there are still more than half the roll left, and I just keep using them over and over and washing them. I keep some in each bathroom and below the kitchen sink. A great savings over paper towels! Thank you for showing these items! I enjoy your channel. God Bless!

    I have seen some cooks on RUclips using a spurtle and I can see that it would be a great tool.
    Love the popcorn popper! Making your own is so much healthier than buying the chemical-laden microwave bags. Plus, the natural popcorn is very nutritious. If you are using melted grass-fed butter on it, you will get the benefit of the anti inflammatory properties of the butter!
    What I especially was intrigued with was the paperless microfiber towels. I would love to stop our paper towel addiction!
    This was such a helpful video--thanks Sherry!

    My favorite, most used item in the kitchen is a simple, cheap silicone spoonula. About 8 inches long. I own about 10 of them because I can be using a bunch of them for one dish: one in the mayo jar, one in the mustard, one to clean out the tuna from the can, one in the relish jar and one to use as a mixer. They can get in all the nooks and crannies and clean out a bowl with nothing left behind. I also have a tall, bigger one I use for stirring and cleaning out bowls of heavier foods or bigger bowls like for cake batter. Another favorite tool is a 12 inch tweezer, perfect for using for frying bacon. Gives you more room to not get spat on plus it’s 100% accurate for grabbing a piece of bacon, much better than a fork.

    • @thehomespunwife

    Could your husband give us his biscuit recipe please? Thanks for sharing. Friend from North Georgia Mountains

    • @thehomespunwife
      @thehomespunwife  17 дней назад +4

      @@janwages8435 Sure!
      Preheat oven to 475.
      2 cups self rising flour sifted
      1 stick frozen butter grated
      (Place butter in freezer until needed)
      1 cup buttermilk
      (Keep cup in fridge till needed)
      When oven reaches 475, take butter and place in flour and mix. Then pour cold buttermilk in mixture. Have extra flour to sprinkle over surface and to use on dough if it’s too sticky.
      The secret is to work quickly with cold ingredients.
      Fold dough 3-4 times, pat out to 1/2 inch. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place on room temperature cast iron (or baking pan) with sides touching. Place in oven for 10 minutes.
      While biscuits baking, melt a couple tablespoons of butter.
      When timer goes off, remove biscuits and set oven to broil. Brush melted butter over biscuits and return to oven for 1-2 minutes until biscuit tops are browned. Watch closely. Remove from oven and enjoy!

      Be careful. Microwave popcorn in a bag is extremely unhealthy. The bag is lined with chemicals, you can get something called “popcorn lung,” it contains tons of saturated fat, and the sodium levels are through the roof. It’s best for your health to make popcorn on the stove and it’s easy to do. 😊

      I haven't tried it. We live in an agricultural county and several dairies nearby have A2A2. I would love to start getting all of our milk this way.

    Thanks for sharing. Are you able to put the cloths back on the roll after washing? If not, how do you store them for reuse. I've been thinking about those for awhile, but storage is a problem for me.

    • @thehomespunwife
      @thehomespunwife  17 дней назад +3

      I only take off a couple at a time and hang them to dry on my dish drainer rack. I purchased a little black canister to store them in but I don't use it like I thought I would. The towels will somewhat adhere to the roll after they are pulled free, but I don't bother trying to reapply them.
      Thanks for watching!!

    Hello I just saw your video and I am a new subscriber. I just love how you showed simply the things to use and clean that I can use myself. Thank you so much. One more thing is it possible to give the prices of these items?

      Thanks so much for watching and welcome to the channel. The prices for these items is always changing and that's one reason I'm hesitant to share them. But I did leave a link to my Amazon store in the description, where you can find these items and their current prices.
