The greatest appeal of the television franchise was the progression of the Stargate Project and Earth from using guerrilla warfare to offset greater superpowers like the Guo'ld to possessing their own starfighters and capital ships as well as an international collective of Earth's militaries working as a galactic power by the end of season 10.
Just realized that the beginning is similar to the book of Enoch. So many things in this movie that have been put right in front of us. But because it’s a movie. We really don’t see what’s being put there

I loved it, great recap… and did anyone feel Dune vibes, I mean Dune came way back later, but seems very much inspiring…the desert, spice mining, rebels
Somehow I feel as though the apple was the woman and Eve was man who couldn't resist the apple and the snake was well . .. the snake was only a few inches 😂😂

If you watch Contact, you begin to understand the concept of a circle that spins, produces great power and is able to transport you to another galaxy. Hot Tub Time Machine proves this theory well except here they use electricity and boiling water. This combination allows you to move through time. I believe Dr Evil copies the idea of Stargate but same concept. Dune introduces an entirely alien variation of this by having the participants sit in a seat on a gigantic spaceship that doesn't move but is transported to specific locations by means of a mutated worm shooting his essence or some spice out of his gills. Admittedly, there is no large circle here but same concept, minus a circle. In a lot of ways, they are a little bit alike.

The fact that people basically believe this is akin to a documentary on real life Annunaki is hilarious. It should really just show you how ridiculous it is to think that a space faring species would come to earth for gold rather than go after comets/asteroids that have much higher concentrations of gold and would be easier to gather/mine. What a joke.
This was before we knew about resource rich asteroids and comets 😂 I feel like they should change it to trees being the incredibly rare universal resource. Or maybe the space aliens took all the gold already and what’s still on earth is the crumbs.
earth is a good location, safe atmosphere + slaves + gold nearby. Anything to make the process automatic or easier is what a smart space traveller would do.
Great movie, and it gets one thinking. Some years later I saw something like a remake where they went back to world war one where the old lady is young and also get teleported to the alien world - that was a total disaster as it not only changes the story-line but just messes it up with bad acting. Some originals should just be left like that.

I loved it conceptually. 🎉
Never saw it. And the TV show didn't look appealing at all.
I loved how adorable James Spader is in here and Djiamon Honsou
He has squint😂
I agree. This was such a departure from the usual bad boy asshole type roles he played at the time. Jame Spader that is.

Stargate is a brilliant film and then come two of the best tv shows to date - Stargate SG1 & Stargate: Atlantis. 💙💙💙
There is true story and imagination combined in this movie.
Stargate has been copied more than once, apparently.
This gave birth to the greatest sci-fi show ever......Stargate Atlantis!

The tower of baybel was more then likely a star gate type technology rather then a ladder or stairs.
