I have to agree with you on this subject. I am an old piston pusher who grew up in a Piper family. In GA aircraft you fly the plane and not pushing buttons and then drink coffee while letting the autopilot fly the plane. 👍
Totally agree. I'd add number 6 which is maybe the same as your number 1. What I want to do is to "fly a plane" and not be sitting at my computer, operating another computer (or computers).
You made some great points, but conversely, I find flying GA can be a little bit disappointing in MSFS because of how low and slow they are. MSFS looks great from afar, but up close, trees can be just textures on the ground (as in 1:38 in the video), or houses are just boxes. And generally, more attentions were paid to larger international airports, leaving smaller airports to be just a simple strip, maybe windsocks haphazardly places among the trees, and autogen vehicle traffic driving across the runway/taxiways. Hopefully MSFS2024 will be better in these regards.
#6 Commercial/airliner aircraft are too hard to learn when you are starting from scratch. I'll stick to the 172 classic/g1000 variants or the 208B. Might try moving up to the CJ4 one day.
LOL! Gliding beats GA in all five of your categorises! (Well admittedly, #5 there’s not so much choice, but you can get GotFriends Discus-2c for free). Give it a go somewhere like NZMF or LOWZ
Why using MSFS for GA, for the good looks? GA-planes in X-Plane 12 feel much smother and more realistic. Get Simheaven OSM Data and auto-ortho it's on MSFS level.
It’s the best visuals out of the box. When Flying VR, there are different settings for visuals than 2D. Which means you can almost set it and forget it when switching back and forth.
@@davidtsw I have flown every version of MSFS since FS4 and X-Plane 9 - 12. I agree the X-Plane flight models are inherently better. However when practicing VFR nothing beats MSFS out of the box. Sure you can add a ton of Ortho but it takes experience that some people don’t have. I also appreciate the X-box option for those who don’t have powerful computers with 4080s or better. I’m running a decent spec machine. 48 GM Ram 4080 Super and i7 9700. For the most part I’m flying all GA and navigating without GPS. X-plane makes me have to work really hard to get that experience. I do have a few hours real world.
MSFS is definitely the best sim for sightseeing
Agreed! I just wish gliding was better implemented.
Totally agree. After a vacation I always fly from the closest airport and have a look where we were! !! !!!
Yep me too. I went on a solo roadtrip through the Alps a couple of months ago and followed the roads I've driven on from above
LOL I do the same as well!!

especially in VR, GA is unmatched.
really enjoy ur VIDs ... thanks

Never even tried flying an airliner and been flying sims since the 80s. Bush baby Bush all the way!
The Staggerwing for £7.80, buy it immediately 👍

Hi, What is the name of the airport in the woods in Utah?
1U1
Unexpected POV 😃
GA is best because you can open your window in flight!
What plane is that at 3:20 ?

@HurrikaneAlpha Out of the experience ist good, but X-planes VR controlls are superior.
Totally agree. I just went from msfs to xp12 and I love how much more realistic even the default planes handle.
