- Finally I have my homemade articulating dump truck going again. I pair it with my Rippa 319 Mini excavator and it’s a perfect match. My dump truck has been out of commission for the past few years due to broken rear CV joints. This video covers the repairs along with using the 420cc predator dump truck with my Chinese mini Excavator.

Right on! I really appreciate it, definitely a fun build for sure. Don’t think I can devote that kind of time on future projects anymore, after having my second son time became really valuable, plus they grow up so fast.

G'day Mike, good to see this little truck back up and running. I know copped a bit of flack when building it, but watching this clip of it articulating and climbing over obstacles while carrying small loads must silence most of those armchair engineers. It really is an amazing little truck you fabricated from scratch, and I loved those build series too.

Awesome seeing a new video Mike! You should consider hinging the tailgate on one side so you can latch it to the side rather than taking it off each time you want to dump.

Hey you're back! I'm a Subaru guy and they make lockers for that R160 rear end. Torq Locker. Seem them work well in Colorado off road trails!

I'm still in love with dump truck! You can also reinforce shafts with pipe cut in half and "wrap" it.
It was a lazy idea I had, b/c properly welding sucks. Turns out, it works great.

Oh yeah, mountain goat and rippa vid in one! Excellent stuff.
On the axles.. if they break again I would suggest taking them off the dumper and preheat them before TIG welding them. After welding wrap them in some rockwool/sheetrock and let them cool down slowly. Should hold a bit better. As always thanks for sharing. Greetings from the Netherlands, Mark
I have seen quite a few cool homemade vehicles on YT now, but your articulating dump truck is hands down the coolest one of them all. What an epic machine. So capable. I thoroughly enjoyed watching ever second of your build videos.

Ahh, I love both these machines! Dude, those gas cans have quickly become my favorite, we use them at work for mixed gas 👍. You should pronounce "Kei" different every video just to fire people up 😂 I've heard it pronounced Key, kye, kay.. maybe make something up haha. On another friends youtube channel, they also say "hot water heater" instead of "water heater" and it gets the keyboard warriors typing 😂😂😂 I mean, hey, every comment helps 😂
Haha yes I often get people correcting me that I’m saying it wrong, I should try a different way of saying it in each video, probably will drum up the comments per video 😂
Love watching these videos. Small machines like yours are so practical in a dense forest. I do 80 % of my work on my homestead with my atv and many accessories I have custom made for it. But for winching huge maple trees, my good old Zetor with a farmi winch is what I need. Take care man !!

Love seeing the 1-ton in action. I'm installing a cooling fan and hopefully back panel latches this weekend on my Rippa. I also just realized that the boom control stick has a thumb horn button on the top of it. Hoping to swap out the horn with a klaxon... aooooga!

You should put holders on the bedside for the tailgate, or you could do a 270° horizontal hinge on it.

If you got a hydraulic auger coming you could investigate whether it is possible to maybe switch bits on it. If so you could maybe build a log splitting screw for it and use it to split the bigger pieces directly with your excavator.
Or maybe modify your splitter with splitting cross, so you can directly split bigger pieces into more than one and add a remote so you can trigger it from your excavator. Probably saves you a lot of time getting on and off

You might consider backing the articulated dump bed under the edge of the log splitter table, then the splitter will push the firewood into the bed directly

I miss your build videos
I’m still doing build videos but just in a different variety of materials. My mini cabin built series has been the newest of my builds. The big metal fab series are just Way too time consuming, I have two little boys and they are where I’m focusing most of my time now. Thanks for checking out my new video 👍
Nice, glad to see it running again. How about creating a bracket on the dump box to hold your tail gate when not in use?
My rippa 319 came in last week and Ive been able to play with it a bit, but mine is quite a bit different from yours. I made a few short clips I plan to edit together yet.

That's a cool Lil truck mike. I got a hernia from my girlfriend:) I was helping her paint her house and she's clumsy because she has a disability. She tripped while bringing me a roller and her forehead hit me in my groin and I got a hernia. Weirdest story ever! Hahaha
