Trial By Fire is another strong defensive option that got overlooked. It provides 8K armor and has decent up time now because all types of damage (except light and heavy attacks) can proc status effects.

Well with high damage meta I just use max health with defence trait. Enjoying my 32k stamblade ganker with clever alch,ancient dragon guard also ty zilla for very good content

i'm still using armor master on my stamblade since 2016 when zos still count bow and staff as 1 pieces bonus set.
i think its the best set for dueling. now this set is more powerful since we have mythic item.
stamDK for example, you can use witch-knight on frontbar and armor master on backbar while wearing 2 pcs zoal or balorgh and malacath. hard hitting and tanky

I think swift might be better because at 50% hp your close to execute, and in panic mode lol
I tried on stamden and stamcro Clever Alchemist + Alessian + VateshranTH + Gaze of Sithis + 1 piece balorgh (4medium impen 3 heavy reinforced) and I was surprised how tanky I was. I recommend you to try Aless. Despite of the 50% hp regen nerf, it's still awesome and I had some good 1vX today.

Get pink to run one of your strong builds to measure the impen values. Take the strongest build with no buffs so it’s consistent.

is buffer of the swift is called the swift on the guild traders is a great set and you can combine that with blinding flare in the support skill line for another 10% damage reduction thats a 20% total damage reduction from players.
i know its not meta to have blinding flare on your front bar but its worth a try imo.

Can use spectres eye instead of gloom, has 100 percent up time but you lose the heal
For my magdk I like Phoenix as a defensive set.

I feel like meridian's blessing has a ton of potential for turning a situation around since you basically get 5 seconds of immunity to either rebuff or burst out get out. It has a long cooldown, but you should be able to recover within 5 seconds to be able to reset within the next 20. I think it has a lot of potential on the right build.

Nice list! I wanted to try steadfast hero and i think i do have the excuse now lol... Just thinking that could work on stamina necro aswell since i like to run expunged and modify for the extra sustain... Also have you try light of cyrodiil on magplar yet?

I hope to see a build with it tbh... I tried to pair it with pariah and vate destro on back bar but it feels that lacks a bit on damage, even that you can still rip off some hairlines with the combo but still 🤣 I'll try it out with another set

My defense on mag sorc is all offense and mobility. Never found a defensive setup that changed overall gameplay. Sithis has helped a little but I still prefer balorg. Great list for other classes 👍
what setup you run?
@@stephongriffin5261 Sithis, trainee, crafty, ancient and whatever monster for the off piece. Swarm/domi is usually used. Sometimes I swap trainee for masters inferno and willpower resto.
whats your max mag at with this setup
@@stephongriffin5261 Mage mundus 51k front and 53k back. Atro is right at 3k less. Have been able to get 46k mag and 5.1k sd using masters. That's without balorg. I only run that if I can stay away from zergs.
idk how your getting 51 front 53 back.. the most im getting is 53 front, 46 back with that setup
running swift, ironblood, pirate skeleton, vamp undeath and undo. i think its around 85% dmg reduction. literally unkillable
I ran plague doctor instead of pariah on magden and found it tremendously better FYI. Just throwing other ideas out there

I count 9 sets and no mention of Impregnable Armor. Hmm. Crit chance has been nerfed, but Acuity builds abound on PC EU. I would agree that Impregnable is more situational than it used to be. I do however default most of my gear to Impenetrable, like you.

@@seancraven886 I honestly don't know. At the beginning of Flames of Ambition it seemed like everyone was suddenly running it, I suppose because Fortified Brass was the only alternative in Cyro. It is definitely an anti-ganking option as bombers and those stamsorc gank builds run Acuity. People used to run 3K+ crit resistances as a matter of course in previous patches. What Impregnable tends to do is blunt your opponent's burst as they may rely on a succession of lucky (or Acuity) crits to push damage over the edge and kill you. I think crit is quite prominent with Malacath and procs nerfed. Impregnable may also allow you to experiment with fully speccing into Well-Fitted or Sturdy while retaining decent crit resistance.
Anyone know if the redguard racial passive affects the ironblood negative effect?

@@Scorex7 hey man, i think we could figure this out. Lets say i have 2000 crit resist, if i get hit by a crit from rapid strikes (dual wield) each hit averages about 1400 base (generous). If it crits it does x1.5c or 2100 damage 700 of which is crit. If crit resist works the way people think, i would take no crit damage cause 700 is less than 2000 crit resist. See an issue there?
If you have a full set of Impenetrable body armor in gold quality, for 258 * 7 = 1806 Critical Resistance, on a CP160+ character this comes out to 1806 / 66 = 27.4% Percentage Reduction. This comes out to (1.5 - 0.274) = 1.226 Critical Damage multiplier for incoming damage.
Impen does not reduce crit chance, only damage... pretty sure its even explained ingame
@@Scorex7 in full impen you only take x1.2ish from Crits instead of x1.5 that’s solely from impen trait not CP or sets with impen

Pariah overall is the best defense set in game hands down…
Grace of Gloom = 50% Major Evasion uptime. Spectre's Eye = 100% uptime. Just saying. Also: Grace of Gloom on a magblade? No. I main one. First of all magblade has Mirage / Phantasmal Escape, just like stamina classes have Shuffle. Secondly, if you're going to backbar a defensive set on that class, then it's Juggernaut, hands down. I've been running that for quite some time. Nightblade (and maybe sorc) is the one class where the long cooldown isn't a major impediment. The set was made for it. Can't beat 20K resistances.

Magblade with grace of Gloom backbar , heartland conqueror body with powered staff backbar , masters front bar with sharpened, that’s what I’m going to try

@@GeorgeGriffithsJustG you’re missing the point of this build , heartland conquer + 16 percent healing paired with the heal over time from gloom and the Max health paired with dark cloak plus the major evasion. The gloom heal would tick for huge amounts as well as my dark cloak

Heartland is good lol It's one of the best sets but it's not strictly defensive like alot of these sets. It's in my top 5 crafted sets though! It will be in the top offensive sets list when indo that next
Juggernaut it’s garbage I tried to use it tanking, it’s only good in pve. In PvP you still get executed unless you have insane healing, and if that’s the case how does you hp even get low? Ironbloofd kinda the same I say only pve.
Mag night blades already have major evasion and minor resist with a skill that they should use so the grace of gloom is trash for NB
Disagree bar space is huge for magic nb, the heal is the main thing you go for it's another dark cloak, the evasion Is bonus. The mirage skill is fine if you didn't have to have 30000 HOTs to survive
Um I really like your vids but I think the trap beat doesnt fit the context. Its the type of beat trashy reaction channels use, while youre the opposite, your content is superb. Personally I think some chill fantasy ambience would suit it better, but i can just speak for myself. Keep it up 👍
