The progress in Kasper’s game is extremely noticeable every game he plays. What a beast on that top line and now playing PP1 and he doesn’t look out of place at all. AlJo, similarly, is quickly turning into a stud on the back end. They’re both gaining confidence at a remarkable rate. Lyon was unbelievable, Larkin is a stud in the faceoff dot, 3rd line looked great… what a game to watch. LGRW
Let's freaking goooooo! Lyon was unbelievable, Kasper is getting better and better every game, and I couldn't be happier to see Shine in the lineup. Love your podcast guys!
Does anybody else notice how? Soder blom looks just amazing. On the Red wings right now I mean his size alone. Just getting space between him and the puck and body out front and he has freakishly good hands for his size. Just wait till he gets more confidence and more ice time. I think he's going to be something
McLellan now has 12 wins in 17 games which is one less win than Lalonde had coaching 34 games. The difference has been night and day and he’s really getting the most out of the young players, Kasper, Soderblom and Johansson have looked great out there lately.
The improvement of AlJo since the coaching change has been nothing short of impressive. Thought he looked great last night in high pressure situations. Kasper continues to look promising and the 4th line also had a pretty damn good game as well.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that DK did a great job doing color for the first time. Dude definitely didn't get the awkwardness that Howard has 😅
Wings, especially Kasper and Raymond, are really looking impressive on the same line with Larkin. That pass that Kasper gave to Larkin was beautiful, the one off the boards. Now, on the bad side of things, Veleno is like an empty suit. That Oiler second goal was where he was, in front of the net (Lyon), and should've fore checked or put his body on Skinner, and didn't do so. Veleno is not worth what he's getting paid. He needs to be on the trading block or placed on waivers. His speed on the ice doesn't overshadow or trump his horrific performance on the ice. Veleno just doesn't need to be on this roster anymore.
Joe V plays great in any role given him on any line. That Skinner goal was extremely lucky. Maybe Holl knocked it to Skinner? Don't really know I was not on the ice. Didn't see much of Holl after that. Good player time management by Todd M.
Watching Ben make a pee wee move towards a bouncing puck with his twig was aggravating. We were all taught to use our glove. Moritz used his glove at top speed cutting hard around his own net a few minutes after Bens attempt accomplishing what good old Ben should have. Amazing to see Ben on 3 on 3. Simon must have been hurt beyond return. Further: watching veleno stick handle drives me nuts. Wtf is that? 3 moves for zero reason. First wing I want somewhere else.
Can I just say its crazy that we are only 8 points behind 1st in the Atlantic with a game in hand? We are also only 5 points above second last in the East lol
Great looking Hat there Brian! You and Scotty are such an amazing duo on this podcast! Keep up the phenomenal work boys, your MY team, EVERYDAY! LGRW!!! 💪🏼😀🏒
I wonder if Lalonde would have given the kids as many minutes. I had placed the blame for not playing the kids on Yzerman but it may have been Lalonde. Injuries to Petry and Kane may have saved the season.
You don't need to wonder. He wouldn't have. Just look at the fact that he did not bring up Edvinsson until the end of last season even though he was a complete stud in GR and the RW D was struggeling, that says all about him.
I don't think the game was stolen. I think the Wings won fair and square. Outside of a chunk of the 1st and a bit of the second I thought they played reasonably well, Lyon was brilliant once the rust was off, and AlJo OWNED McDavid. Also agree both goalies were excellent for most of the game.
Todd plays his center first back check. That means wingers have to be first forecheck. When that breakdowns we find our Wings digging out of our D zone. Everyone knows transition is everything. Puck high hockey is the same today as it was when Mickey Redman played. Being first means you are being chased. Hockey is simple. Support absent the puck.
I don't think talbot would have been able to lock in this win. Lyon is much more seasoned and composed and gives great second efforts whereas talbot gives up on plays too easily
Ridiculous. Larkin is the most impactful player period. While he can't make up for Bens mental breakdowns, He is our 3rd defenseman every time. Best 200' in the league. Dillon is a superstar. The minute Steve gets him another right D and another power winger? Dillon will explode offensively. Wing fans pretend to know the game. Still in the loosing years. Steve will accomplish more then expectation. Patients fair weather players.7
First LGRW, i have a non hockey question. why do other locked on channels (not this one thank the lord) repeat the phrase "part of the locked on network" over and over in the beggining of each video, its so annoying and obvious what i am watching, i just wish they would stop, sorry for the rant but i had to ask....
@ lol.. you’re not a very good look at talent. Also, he wouldn’t be 4th liner. I’d play him 3rd line which is normal playing time. Joe is bumped to 4th for a reason. Trash 🗑️
@@kirkelleson642 except you don't seem realize that veleno is already on the 4th line, rassmussen centers the 3rd line with soderblom an Berggren. Danielson isn't ready. He's a good two way center with little offensive production currently. Once he starts putting up points in GR then he'll be ready. Until then let him grow.
@ I’ve been wanting soderblom up for a while now and that seems to be working well. Some people learn and improve faster playing with the best and Danielson appears to be one of those players. He might not produce a lot but if we can get half a season under his belt he’d be ready next year to be a very positive asset as a 3rd liner. That’s my opinion. He’d greatly improve our 2nd team power play.
@@kirkelleson642 injuries happen so he could be up this season but I don't see it happening. I just hope he turns into the monster center we drafted him to be.
Im sorry but danny does not belong in the booth, he's more vanilla than murphy and makes him look like cookie crumble ice cream in comparison, and i hinestly believ is justnthere because the wings owe him back pay for not playing his last few years. Brian is very correct, the refs dictated this game for edmonton the first period, 2 very weak tripping calls whennthere were plenty of penalties for similar infractions happening ton the wings in the frist period and no surprise a close shot margin turned into a 17-8 shot advantage for edmonton after. Kasper is looking very confident as well as johansen and they are playing like theyre in the ahl rigjt now in regards to their ouck dominance. Most importantly they are winning 5v5 on most trams now, which is more important than winning special teams which will improve when kane comes back, but at what cost to their 5v5 play? Honestly with how well kasper played on the pp moving the puck, id trade kane if he comes back and looks good for either draft picks or a depth defenseman, as their prospects sooner than later are going to dictate that happening due to hiw well they are playing and how much more important they will be tonthe future than kane, but I welcome the assault from wings fans who are lane superfans and cant see that he has an expiration date that coincides with them needing to improve to be a playoff contender.
Future prospects' playing time increased without Kane is progressive for the future, and I will agree with that. But you can't believe that Shine will have more game winning goals than Kane or contribute to the PP??
@user-qs5mr1iw5c ??, no but kasper soderblom, and berggren will get more looks and more ice time and that is more important than playing for a playoff spot right now because kane will likely not be here when it counts. If you want to settle for mediocrity now than play kane, see if it gets you in the playoffs, if you want to play for a cup in the future, play your prospects, shine is just a 4th liner filling a roster spot, its not expected he will be a regular in the rotation when compher comes back. If kasper soderblom and berger continue to increase their production it nullifies the shinny but mostly meaningless numbers kane can bring to the lineup. Besides danielson and several others who aren't in their 30s are going to be up next year, why would we keep kane? This is the same mindset that had them chasing the 24 straight years of playoff appearances at the expense of their future, no thanks.
Lyons stoled game45 saves then win it in shoot out and look who scored Larkin he had ten shots on net himself GO WINGS GO they to be moving up in standing in there division
I think the Flyers won that deal too. They got rid of the Farabee contract and got a 2nd round pick and Kuzy who's Russian and can potentially help Michkov
I live in southwest, west Australia, pretty much noone watches hockey here so i love watching podcasts to keep my hype going for the wings.
I’m in Sydney lad and I’m a wings fan. Up the red wings! Wish we could get some more games on tv over here.

Johansson stifling McDavid was awesome.
That was great
McDavids worst game of the season.
Exactly 🎉
Best thing ive watched as a wings fan all year
Gets me hopeful af

Low key these guys are fun to watch, the banter the friendly jabs. It's fun to listen to.

It is incredible what he’s been able to do on the fly with this team. He’s trusting the players and they’re rewarding him
Makes one wonder if the switch had happened earlier where wings would be in the standings.
I love Talbot and Lyon 🙌🏼🛑🥅🚨

I call him aljo too!
And just like that, we're on another 4 game win streak in less than a month and a half into the McLellan era.
Agreed, Razor was on fire tonight. His skill has really evolved.
@@cwilson4281
Devolving is the wrong word, but I get whatcha meant.
@ corrected. Thanks
Undoubtedly, next year he will be the premier player on the wings
That pass that Cat totally missed was elite
Raymond (sorry I don't use the cutesy locker room nicknames) never, never gives up on a puck.
I was at the game and I felt like every dollar was worth it, had so much fun but man it was cold tonight hahaha
I am going to the game in Calgary LGRW🐙
Enjoy man , it was great seeing the guys fight for the win . LGRW!!@@VERTEBREAKER69
How was it??
What about the wings 3rd line? They were absolutely buzzing and creating offensive chaos especially in the 2nd period
They really were, I noticed that as well. Great game from them.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that DK did a great job doing color for the first time. Dude definitely didn't get the awkwardness that Howard has 😅
He's been sooooo much better on the desk that I had no doubt.
Oh man Howard on camera is solid entertainment 😂 DK did great I was hoping he’d get some color time on the road.
Rest up Kane we got this for a bit ! LFGRW 🤘😎
Kane will help the team in many ways.
In the last couple of weeks, we've gone to both stanley cup finalists from last season and won. This team has the making of something great.
What a win boys 😮 way to come back ! Lyon45 saves OMG!!!

That Edmonton ice was crazy, so many whiffs so many dudes sliding and falling.
Saw that too. Guess just falling for no reason throughout the game.
AlJo stripping McDavid. Beautiful.

I thought you guys were taking the night off, glad you’re here bc i couldn’t stay up for the game🙁
We need that extra oomph, we are missing just that 1 more player and a consistent goal tender. I.e go get petterson!
No
Absolutely not
You thinking goaltending has been the issue this year??? Have to disagree there. Maybe if you were talking about Husso there.
You have not been paying attention if you think our goaltending is inconsistent. This is the best we’ve had in years.
Seider becoming Lidstrom

Stole?!?! Both edm goals were tough bounces.
Anytime a goalie makes 40+ saves but limits the goals to two or fewer, thats a steal in my book.
Oilers were the Western Conference champions, not the Eastern Conference
Best pass of the night? Whats our new guys name. It was epic. 3rd period. 3rd period East to west. Can't remember his name. #50
