I think it might be 'arms race' time. Does WSH dangle McMichael/Poitras (or similar) for an upgrade? I like all that is happening to accelerate deals for teams with 1-3 retention 3rd party deals. It's awesome. I really think the 4N is going to be a deadline, then re-deadline in March. If I am Conroy, Kadri goes (and there will be people calling) Even if 'players have earned it' dump and run.
Lose-lose IMO. Rangers gave up a 1st rounder and got no salary retention despite being literally the entire market for Miller. Nucks main piece here is a player who is very, very injury prone.
@@tsak912 Miller is right now en pace for 70, and he`s double as expensive for way longer. Plus he has team issues and had a full NTC. Chytil is a good contract, and when he gets PP time he will score more. Nucks got a lot of return for a guy that`s pretty much untradable.
as a flames fan, absolutely love pelts and kuzzy and wish them the best, but I think this is a great trade for us. Two young guys who can fit into our plan. Excited to see what they can do!
as a flyers fan I personally see our trade as a win-win. the flames definitely got the greater win of the two but I think dumping a lot of cap and getting a decent (though not great) return will allow us a lot more flexibility over the summer, both in free agency and the king's ransom worth of draft picks we have this year, and ultimately benefit us as well. plus i know the flames faithful are gonna love the two guys they're getting, on and off the ice
Another great update. Love the content. Canucks have got be happy with this return. It will be a fresh start for everyone I think it's a win win for both parties and players. Keep up the great work 👍
The fact that two guys making 10 millions/over a year , cant get along to play hockey. Is crazy to me. Ive learned to deal with stupid for way WAY less money a year.
Canucks fans should be very upset that two guys couldn't think big picture. This is the type of stuff I'd expect in the NBA. I thought hockey players were supposed to be team first? Also Rutherford airing out laundry in the press is wicked work.
For the Nucks, I think it`s a great trade given the circumstances. JT has little to no value given his contract (8m, 5 more years, NTC) and his play (en pace for a 70 pts season, average advanced stats, physical -gritty play style won`t age well). The Nucks got that contract away, 3,5m in cap space and got a solid center in return, who will be their 2nd line guy and is signed for 2 more years at a reasonable 4,4m cap. On top they got a 1st and a D prospect. I know Chytil is fragile, but i still think the Rangers overpaid for Miller given he has issues (locker room and contract that might turn bad once he`s getting 33,34,35). Personally i would have not paid a 1st.
Blockbuster is a good name for the van/ny trade trade, much like nobody inder the age of 25 knows what blockbuster is I have no idea who any of these players are
The Canucks are a team that impressed last season and looked just a few ingredients shy of competing for the cup. Now they've traded away their captain and arguably their best or second best player and look nothing like a team that could go far in the playoffs. Very disappointing.
We're definitely a lot worse than you guys but you weren't lighting it up last 20 years till two years ago despite having like what 10 1st round picks. Not really something to be proud of but hey as long as Canada gets the cup.
Chytil is a great player, but he's fragile. That's a minus for Vancouver, if he stays healthy a great player. If JT doesn't bring drama and a bad attitude, it should be good for NY.
Bahahahahaha, Traded miller and kept the invisible man! Remember Elias in the playoffs last year? Nobody does! Only player to disappear faster than the Sedins.
Canucks have some cap space and TWO first round picks, I hope they aren’t done yet.
Definitely have the ammunition to make another big move!

Just traded their 1st
Love your videos, great content, i’m very pleased that you threw your thoughts on the Philly Calgary trade at the end too
Miko gets traded.... JT gets traded... Leafs fans: soooo..............
marner trade?
Lose-lose IMO. Rangers gave up a 1st rounder and got no salary retention despite being literally the entire market for Miller. Nucks main piece here is a player who is very, very injury prone.
Rangers swapped a 40pt centre for a 100pt center

If its a lose-lose, isnt that by definition also a win-win 😂

I saw the Canuck game on TV tonight against Dallas. Quinn Hughes appears to have an injury and labored on the ice.

Total win win, for both squadrons.

Miller is dancing to the big apple 🍎

Why did Rangers get Erik Brannstrom? He was available on waivers and is a similar player to Zac Jones, whom they are trying to trade. Makes no sense.
Could be the nucks wanted an extra contract slot and that was part of the deal
For the Nucks, I think it`s a great trade given the circumstances.

Re: Petterson going on a heater now that Miller's gone - my Red Wings play them day after tomorrow * gulp *
If you're afraid of Petterson than you don't watch him play. Jt is a beast comparing to that marshmallow
Blockbuster is a good name for the van/ny trade trade, much like nobody inder the age of 25 knows what blockbuster is I have no idea who any of these players are
3 petey's.
Petey to Detroit
He’s not going anywhere now that JT is gone. Would be nice though.

Hughes is the captain. And not arguably. Miller was the best forward and second best player on the team.
Isn`t that true for the Rangers also? They had FLA at 2-2 and then lost gm 5 and 6.
Definition of a lose-lose trade. Nobody won here , both teams lost.
Oilers fan here. Doesn’t matter if petey gets 100 points .. nucks won’t get passed the oilers :)

@ plenty of space on the oiler bandwagon :) go ahead hop on 😎
jt miller is toxic
Probably, yeah, but he’s also really good at hockey so if you’re winning you can put up with it
Yeah, they’re cornering the market on 31-year-olds
Rangers are gonna be good now. Canucks just got neutered
Chytil is a great player, but he's fragile. That's a minus for Vancouver, if he stays healthy a great player. If JT doesn't bring drama and a bad attitude, it should be good for NY.
Jt loves Jt only.
How is a 0.43 ppg player great exactly? That's 3rd line center production. The kid is one questionable hit from being a vegetable.
@@Xyy2387how was Miller producing in Tampa?
@@christhornycroft3686 At a 57pt clip over a full 82. Average salary 4m. What's your point?
Hopefully Petey can now take some weight off Hughes’ back.
Petey is becoming a major dissapointment. He wasn't playing well either, but they chose to keep him over jt miller I geuss
@@Nickh4929 my guy, Petey had a amazing point pace when JT was off the line-up, when he returned it plummeted back down
Pettersson won’t do shit. He’s unmotivated and soft.
Good one
@@Nickh4929, I’m willing to believe Petey’s more coachable, hence the decision to keep him. Plus, he’s younger and has higher potential
Lose lose trade tbh
rangers got hosed
Canucks should package their two 1st round picks and Elias Pettersson in a trade for J.T. Miller.
Bahahahahaha, Traded miller and kept the invisible man! Remember Elias in the playoffs last year? Nobody does! Only player to disappear faster than the Sedins.
They'll have to make the playoffs for him to disappear in them though
Remember the bubble?
Petterson is always down about something
Petty 150 point szn loading
yeah ... temper your enthusiasm bro lol. I'd be thrilled to see 90 pts out of him from where he seems to be at right now.
He has 11 goals this season and playing like a bottom 6 player. I need what your smoking if you actually think petey is good enough for 150 points
@ omfg it was a joke
You got bad comment luck lol
@@bristlethistle7456 I guess so😂 we don’t know what a joke is anymore ig
