I worked for PAM for 5 years. This is going back about 20 years now. They were always good to me, I always reached my destination on time unless it was weather related or breakdowns and the dispatchers knew that. In turn they kept me running and helped me whenever they could. The only holiday I wanted to be home for was Christmas and they respected that. Training.. when I started I had be the worst student ever. I mean I had problems with everything. Frustration on my part just made it worse. But ya know what? My trainer just stuck with me and and I made it through the process. I left PAM only because I needed more money. Again.. ya know what? I had never found a better company to work for since. Money isn't always everything. I am now retired from trucking with 20 years accident free and as usual there are memories. Most of the good memories are from the time I was with PAM and many nightmares from other companies. New drivers.. listen to the man in this video stay safe and good luck in your new adventure.
Bro I've watched and debated on getting my cdl for a couple years. Watched negative shit and I thought, damn, maybe this ain't for me. Recently went through some shit that opened my eyes to seeing life in a positive and proactive way and it's changed me. Then the first video I watch back looking into this and come across this one. Dude you really spoke nothing but factual life views and ways to come at shit. Man I can describe how cool I found this video. It's nothing but facts. Either you go through Pam or not, it's the way you view things. The way you hold yourself accountable for your actions. Literally everything is judged by the person view of where you're at as an individual. Thanks buddy. Hope I see you down the road haha. Ps, glad you became a trainer bc you have that personality and mind set to actually show someone the right path they need to be on. Peace and love my brother 🤙🏼
Great video! I just turned 50yrs old and this will be a 2nd career for me. I'm scared and excited at the same time! I start school in a couple weeks. Will take your advice and keep a positive attitude and treat people w kindness and respect.
Thank you for this video. It has relieved some anxieties for me. I am waiting on my mentor to call me to go out. I am going through my online training in the meantime. I Loved how you encourage us to not let negative people affect my positive experience. I will also use this in other aspects of my life. You are a great inspiration. Thanks again.
im glad i dont have nothing distracted me im glad i been focusing on CDL LICENSE i cant wait to pass PRE TRIP and Driver test tears will come down my face i cant wait cause i feel like alot of things praying my down falls god have been good to me and ima keep myself up.
I worked for Pam for over 10 yrs through Driver Solutions & was never a trainer. If you have the temperment, good money can be made training new drivers. Attitude is everything with PAM & ANY OTHER COMPANY IN THE WORLD! The 1st year is the absolute worst! You are new to the industry, learning new skills & trying to figure out the company. You also have that loan hanging over your head. You better be prepared to work hard, (everyone works hard in this company from the janitor on up!) & be disciplined in everything-taking care of yourself, taking care of your truck, your logs, your paperwork. Thanking your co-workers for their effort & telling them why you appreciate them goes a long way. I stuck with PAM partly because of "better the devil you know" & because the longer I was there the happier I was with the company, my relationships with the company , my benefits, my runs & my pay.
Man I needed to hear this , all you see is negative comments about every company. I think it’s mostly just people don’t want to work or think they deserve 2,500 a week for 1,000 miles driven.
Liked the post! PAM is one of the "Starter" companies I have been considering, for a few reasons, not the least being they have a terminal pretty close to me, and they offer training. Very happy to hear that you at least thought positively about your time there. I have a question if you have the time:, "Do they have manual or automatic trucks?" TY, stay safe out there.
Can’t speak for Binihana but I’ve been here at PAM for a month and I love it.Best place I’ve worked in years so far.Making good money and happy with my route.
I have been off the road for over 5 years and PAM was one of the companies out there willing to offer me a 1st seat experienced position based on the 10 years of driving I had before 2019. I do my remote physical and drug test tomorrow, get that remote orientation done and hopefully be on my way to Little Rock for a truck by Friday. This industry really is what you make it, your right about that. I may even consider becoming a trainer down the road man. I was lucky when I started with Werner over 13 years ago to be trained by a real old school driver. Multi-million miler outta the 70's man. He trained me right and I see a serious need for more old school drivers out here training the new school. Looking forward to the PAM experience and always making it the best it can be! Hope you're doing good out there and nothing but blessings to you and yours man!
Great video... I watch this female truck driver and she’s great.. but honestly I haven’t heard anyone say what u said about negative comments.. I love it.. it puts me at ease bcuz this is exactly what I follow when trying to pick which tricking school to attend.. I signed up to speak with someone at Pam Transport this morning and wanted to c if anyone had anything good to say about their experience.. I know I have to get the experience myself.. Thanks!
L. Haywood hey if u can please share this with anyone who is looking to become a driver...share share share and subscribe...if you have any questions feel free to ask!!!
In the transportation industry I tell guys , even when you are late you should be early , this is why my driver never delivered a late load ever neither did I and that’s the honest truth! This is why you can’t slack on your pretrip and your trip planning , always make sure you know where you are going before you flick on the gps and make certain that your truck maintenance is on point , because at least if you spot something during the pretrip you can address it right there and have it fixed before you leave . This is what I did and what my driver does and so far never late to a pickup or a delivery ever.
You are so positive you make me want to do this more and more you are so positive you really want somebody to do well but I keep changing my mind I can't keep changing my mind I'm not getting no younger 🤦🏾♂️
You have a good Attitude I’m joining them in September or October I’m only 21.. and my drive agent has be nothing but kind an reasonable!!!! My goal is to eventually have my own tractor thank you so much sir for looking at a positive way may you be blessed!!!!
Appreciate the positive feedback bro! I just watched a bazillion negative reviews about PAM and you spoke the truth about how everyone’s experience is different and what they make of it. Stay Safe out there 🤙🏽
Euró Step as far as his comment, during the time I was training with PAM, the amount on the pay was accurate. Now as far as now, I’m not sure what the training pay is which is why I say before you just jump in do a little research. As far as the Werner pay I have no idea how accurate that information is, but in his defense he did say look it up or call them. I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to ask. I will also say this, remember one company may pay something that interests you and the other may have less, Remember the money doesn’t matter if you aren’t happy, it’s all about making the right decision for yourself. So I seriously stress that you research to obtain the necessary knowledge you need to be happy, but at the same time successful
They were true for the person making them however they are not you. Whatever they brought into the situation impacted them and not all people are going to have the same perspective.
Thank you this is helpful since I'm planning to go to school and Pam and Swift is the only choices, lol. And yes, your opinion matters and we appreciate it!
It sounds good on concept but, 4hrs early most places unless it's your first load of the day and you know it's ready yeah. You get there too quick you gotta wait anyway. Speaking from experience.
Love the video bro! You gotta tell it like it is. I like that you say, you have the opportunity to make your experience what it is. That's life. The only person that you can control is yourself.
Bro, you are a 100% right? Because trucks do break down specifically if there use trucks if you get there and have 2 hours every day. If something does happen that's chill time for you because you still have time now
Awesome video…. I’m waiting on a call back now to go to Pam…. I’m excited. Almost all trucking companies have some negative reviews…. But like you said…. Your experience is what you make it…. I like that! Thanks
I keep hearing about great starter companies. What companies aren't considered starter? You leave one for another you are now the new fish in the same ocean. So what exactly is a non starter trucking company? Thanks in advance, stay safe.
Im anticipating a start date with Pam Trucking. Just a question that green horns may develop while anticipating their new career paths to begin; Once we get teamed up with our trainer, are new drivers allowed to take initiative and start that truck up "if the driver is choosing to sleep in", and get on down the road? In order to prevent arriving late to the drop off/pick up location? Im sure that depends on the progression rate of the trainee; and then again, I'm also assuming that there is a good chance that the truck never stops, perhaps. Just looking for a little knowledge on the matters at hand,
starting the truck up and taking the initiative to get down the road will have to be something that you and your trainer discuss and agree upon. Most trainers do not like their truck moved without their knowledge because most of the responsibilities fall on them. I’m sure your trainer will have a plan for you as a trainee for those type of situations.
About 95% make it through school but it’s not easy at a cdl mill. It’s more like boot camp. But only about 1% will be trucking after one year. Probably half of them get fired for accidents then a lot of them just give up and quit because you don’t make much your first six months. Cdl school does not teach you how to be a truck driver. They teach you the very basics to pass your cdl test. You are gonna learn the ropes your first six months out there or struggle with it and quit. It’s like the military they will take anyone with a pulse but after that it’s survival of the fittest and most people wash out.
Signed up with Pam still waiting on school because it seems popular this time of year. My PREVIOUS COMPANY I moved up fast in rank and before I knew it was working 18 hour days. Being told the 10 hr limit to driving didn't apply to me because of SHUTTLE DRIVING. I was exhausted and wanted something better. I started looking into CDL training. One guy I knew warned me saying not to join up as I would be away from home for months on end. That doesn't bother me because previous job would take me all over the country to work those crazy hours, mistreated me and I ran the numbers. The same pay I was making, I would earn just driving a truck. That means guaranteed sleep and all I would do was make sure I was doing my stuff on time? Man I already mastered that with previous job! I tried a few CDL training jobs, a few rejected because of location or just wouldn't call me back. PAM called me back right away, explained the job. Recruiter has been nothing but absolutely awesome to me. Giving me details, answering my questions, keeping me slotted in so I can deal with my bills before I go on to schooling. I start December 26th. I'm pumped to go, I got nothing else to lose. Only problem is I got two cats. Been told solos can't have pets or solos can. I just want to bring them with me on the road. I've taken them with me almost everywhere in my car.

That's right the next guy could be lazy and don't want to work the experience is up to you
I was at pam 5 years became owner op. Moved to a spot market company

What does Pam pay the first year ?

On time sometimes, depends on the loaders. I used to get paid a little to give moral like this. But then i was young.
Thanks for your insight. I am trying to get my CDL with PAM right now, if I can get approved anyways.
Me too...I am so nervous mainly because i have young kid. Little support system...hard trusting people with my daughter
I start my class this upcoming Monday you seem like a damn good mentor I hope I have one like you
I've been thinking about this for a long time, I guess I look at me being a female and something happening to me. But it looks fun.
Does everybody have to do Otr training when they start out with Pam or can I drive and learn locally? Just a family man question

Awesome video, very informative💫💞
Most of the negative I seen was about pay and certain trainer's that go home for days at a time while they was training people
Great input sir! My son just signed on with Pam. He’s about to go on training? What would you recommend for him as a trainee?
I drove for PAM, they are a good training company. Tell him to do his year, then go some where else. They don’t pay very good.

It's optional. Driver solutions teaches you if you go through them

Can i request you as my trainer?

Good advice man
How much is the pay
Tracy Roberts you will have to call and get the updated pay rate

When you are out on the road their truck break down or flat tire do they pay to get it fix . Or come out of your pocket
Eric soles they pay to get it fixed. Nothing for you to worry about
Only owner operators pay to fix trucks themselves.
Good stuff
Do Pam have flatbeds

whats the drug test like? hair follicle?
