I'll never forget being in my car smoking a bowl and listening to XYZ in the parking lot of Moby Grape in Las Vegas and Marc, Pat and Mitch the road manager came up to my car and asked who I was listening to, I said XYZ and Marc said yeah, that's us. One of the coolest moments in my Life. Thanks man.
I'm sure My story is alot like others... The first time I heard XYZ I had to have it! I swear That CD lived in a Player for a long time! And still Jam to XYZ as one of the main artists I Play. I am so glad I landed on your YT videos! Marc you are one of my personal Favs..! I have studied for hours upon hours and never gets old. It all holds up to today with the gritty bluesy tight riffs... Great guitarist / writer.... Forever Fan GS
Hi Marc, My name is Lorenzo and I'm a 53-year-old guitar player from Italy. I've been a fan of yours for as long as I can remember, and I still listen to XYZ's albums all the time. Your music has always been a source of inspiration for me, and I've learned so much from listening to your playing. I've been playing guitar for over 35 years now, and I still aspire to be as good as you someday. Your solos and riffs are so incredibly creative and expressive, and they always blow me away. I'm so grateful for the emotion and joy that your music has brought into my life.I know you're probably busy, but I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your incredible talent. You're one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and I'm so proud to be a fan. Thank you for everything. Lorenzo
This is really cool Marc, I can’t tell you how many times I would search for you on the internet and wasn’t much there. I do want you to know that the guitar community ( if I can speak for all of us) is really excited for your channel to grow and to begin this journey with you. Thanks !!🤘🤘🤓
The first time I heard XYZ I was blown away. I truly mean that. The first album was so good. Every song was a banger. Inside Out blew me away. Maggie, Nice Day To Die, Take What You Can, Follow the Night, Souvenirs. Come on and Love Me. Damn what a great album. And produced by Don Dokken nonetheless. Thank you for sharing this.
Hi Marc, Hugh here from Canberra, Australia, I was fortunate enough to have bought your old Sunburst Gibson Les Paul a few years back, I still play it today, what a guitar that is. Love your playing by the way, hope you are well maestro !!! 🙏🙏🙏
I used "Inside Out" to demo my Klipsch KLF-30s w/DefTech Trinity sub system to a friend and former coworker from the Audio/Video biz..He is younger than me and there was always a friendly old vs new school rivalry going on between us. Well, he was astonished by the performance, and your guitar work has a lot to do with that. Thank you!
Hell yeah, my first guitar playing milestone was nailing the main riff by ear 😄 Oh man, I felt so proud when I finally got it down... And to this day, it's the first thing I play when I get warmed up. Can't thank you enough brother 🙏
The first 2 XYX albums were masterpieces. I'm glad that one of my favorite guitar players is back! Hopefully things work out and we get a 3rd (real) XYZ album. They tried, but it just wasn't XYZ without you.
Hi Marc, you're an amazing and underrated guitar player with such a charismatic way of playing. And a big influence for me and many more for sure. Where have you been all these years? Hope to hear new material from you sir. A hug and a toast to you sir
I never thought this day would come where I would be watching a lesson on Inside Out from the man himself! Marc, thank you for starting up this channel. Like many others here, I am a massive fan of yours. Whenever I talk shop with my guitar buddies about influences and incredible players from my genre spectrum (I'm the 80s metal dude in my group), I always tell em' "one of the most incredible players to ever come out of the 80s metal era is XYZ's Marc Diglio. Check his work out." Keep it coming and rocking, and Cheers from the Philippines!
At last, the video and channel I’ve been waiting for since the last century, even before YT was invented. Thanks so much for doing this and please keep the videos coming!
This is classic hard rock boys & girls, perfect riff & lead break from Marc, with Terry, Paul and Pat also doing the business, this is a great, great track, more people should know about XYZ, hard rock with class, style & balls! I appreciate those first 2 albums, they are gold to me, I purchased the remastered self titled album a couple of years back, sounds stellar! I remember checking this band out when I read in a UK metal/rock magazine Don Dokken was producing the first album, I'm a massive Dokken/Lynch fan, so I had to check this band out, I was not disappointed, mega stuff! 19 when I bought the first album, 53 now & still listening, & that's not gonna change. Thank you so much for these videos Marc, please keep entertaining your fans with your playing & stories, much respect bro. Cheers
Hey Marc I think I owe you royalties, I may have played the Inside Out riff more than you 😂. Every time I play it, someone says cool, is that an original? And I always say “nope, XYZ” and then I tell ‘em to check you out 👍🏼. I love your playing and have been listening for years. Saw you guys at a club called Axis in Boston way back in 1990 😳 . Great show! Keep rockin’ Marc!
Marc, ‘Inside Out’ is such an iconic song and hear and see you breaking it down is amazing. You’re such a humble man. Much success to you in all you do.
This is so cool! Recently been learning all my favorite xyz songs, super helpful to see how the man himself plays it! Some of the best playing of that whole era of guitar! Rock on Marc!
Wow, just stumbled upon this channel and I love your playing Marc. One of my favourite solos of all time is the wonderful power ballad When I Find Love from Hungry. Hope you can make a video of that beautiful solo. Thanks for creating the channel Marc, respect!
Oh I'm so happy to see this channel! You are one of my guitar heroes. I can't describe how excited I was when I saw the Inside Out video clip on a VHS the first time. I was hoping you would start a RUclips channel. You are a legend!
Man, that’s cool. I was just learning this a couple months ago and I’m so stoked that you’ve got a channel going. That slide trick makes so much sense now!
Grew up jaming with this group as a teenager..Ive played guitar since i was 13 and 53 now and i still love playing these older songs..Alot of them are getting harder to do with age, hands do not move and stretch as much as they use to😂..Perfect video dude..
Loved the guitar on those xyz albums... would be interested in what gear he was using... for the second album he was using a cool kramer into some preamp on tour. Great show...
I am so stoked you put this out there. I’ve been trying to fake my way through playing along to this song for years. That slide/tapping/harmonic part is killer. I hope you are doing well!
Opened for XYZ at The Empire Rock Club in Philadelphia around 1990.....didn't know much about the band but grew to love your playing and the song writing. Glad I found you on here.
HOLY SHIT!!! THE MAN, THE LEGEND!!! One of the best fucking sound in the entire business, and that means something given their contemporary. I was just introducing Hungry to a friend. And its insane you still have the sound!!! Bro never been so excited to comment on youtube in decades. Keep it coming, i instantly follows you. KEEP THEM COMING!
Marc, I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never heard this song til early 2024. And I was like- WTH??!! I watched a lot of MTV back in '89. lol. Not gonna lie- Thuindersteruck is my all time favorite song, but this riff and song rank right up there with it. Thanks for the new memory for me.
Nice to see you doing well. Thanks for showing us how to play the song. Your playing and tone was really awesome and still is. What an inspiration !!! Greetings from Bangladesh.
Grateful to see this channel! You were one of my favorite guitarists from back in the day. Glad to see you are still around and playing! All best wishes.
Marc, let me say this was awesome of you to do this breakdown of Inside Out because I am learning it and there was a couple parts I just couldn't figure out.
Marc, I had the great honor of seeing you live many many years ago at a club called Jmicheals in Charlotte N C ! This was before ya’ll hit it big ! Great show ! Inspired me to practice harder !!
I played it better than I thought all those years. Thanks brother. I used the video and some lame ass tabs because the band had to have this 2 weeks after it was out. I struggled a bit with the solo since I don't tap at all. I managed to muddle through it and frankly no one noticed in those days. Perhaps a few guitarists crunched their noses. But as long as girls were swinging and butt was moving it was all good Great playing bro, from one to another.
BonJour Marc! I remember you were endorsing Peavey at that time, the Vandenberg signature, VTM120 amps and 412ms & 412m cabinets just like Adrian, and that's more or less what I've been playing for all these years as well. :) Just a couple of pedals and THE sound is there! Thanks for clearing up that part with the bottleneck! I used the edge of my pick or nails on my right hand like a kitten on the neck to achieve some of that same effect! ;D Salutations de Norvège
Wow!!! Amazing!!! I also tried to find you on the internet to see what you are up too…. I just subscribed to your channel!!! Rock on from Winnipeg Canada!!! Take care and glad I found ya!
Some of my favorite guitar tones and riffs on that album..what were the amps used during that time? HH boogie and face down in the gutter all time favorites, rocco pezzin got really close to the tones with an axe fx.. great stuff!
I'll never forget being in my car smoking a bowl and listening to XYZ in the parking lot of Moby Grape in Las Vegas and Marc, Pat and Mitch the road manager came up to my car and asked who I was listening to, I said XYZ and Marc said yeah, that's us.
