All she had to do is go to a bank, open an account and deposit the check. When the check cleared she could do whatever she wants with that money. But she KNEW the check was a fake.
Guilty as hell. Just FYI, when a cop reads you your rights, they are going to arrest you. Doesn't matter what you say after. So... when they ask if you understand your rights you can save a lot of time and avoid further questioning by saying "NO sir, I do not understand the rights as you have stated them."
It's also to cover their bases, so that the suspect can't turn around and say that they were coerced or intimidated, or that they didn't know they had a right to keep their mouths shut, which was the argument that was deployed in the case of Ernesto Miranda. As most small minds do, the perps like to hold court wherever they're standing, thinking they have to plead their case right then and there, and they think that if they repeat the lie over and over, it will eventually stick; as if they're in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, they believe there is a special blend of words they can use to make it all go away. Whenever they speak, they don't realize they are assisting the police in their investigation against them. The police will threaten you, lie to you, and twist your words to try to break you, and it's perfectly legal. You may not be able to win against such tactics, but with silence, you can stalemate them. Never engage your opponent on their terms.
Police: "Well, your under arrest." Woman: "Can I call somebody?" Police: "who do you need to call?" Woman: "I was going to call the pawn shop down the street to see if they can help me cash my check...I'm gonna need bail money now."
There's no way that she thought she'd be able to cash that check and actually get away with it, wow. She's obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yea, I’m a teller myself for a fairly large reputable bank, we don’t even call the cops anymore fr. We just refuse the check and tell them we can’t cash it, we try to explain to them that we believe it to be fraudulent. And we TRY to keep it, but if they insist they hve it back, we gotta give it back. I know it’s stupid, but 🤷🏻♀️ that’s how shit works nowadays. We ain’t callin the cops for it, cuz half the time the cops say ‘well did u give them the money?’ No, we didn’t cash it. ‘Well ok then, just tell them to leave’ I’m dead ass. I literally had 2 of them last week smfh

Yep but she probably thought she could get away with it easier in a pawn shop but they're no dummies either, they're used to people trying to scam them.
Oh yeah, that sounds right. A small Pawn Shop most definitely is going to have $24,000 ready to hand over. "Thank you for your business lady, and do come again!" 🤣
"I ain't gonna lie...", "I'm gonna tell you the truth....", "I'm gonna be honest with you...", "I'm telling you the truth...", and nothing out of their mouth is true.
Fun facts, for the heck of it: The more people lie to either themselves or others or both in their everyday lives, the more often they say it, and the more easy it is for them to say it. They say it semi-subconsciously (instinctively) because often, they're trying to reinforce their own belief in what they're saying, even when they know they're lying, because it enables people to create true delusions. The mind is capable of manifesting false reality for its owner to prevent them from experiencing a self-perpetuating loop of physical anxiety which will feed on the mental anxiety and vise-versa, as the central nervous system perceives that as an unresolvable/unwinnable fight. You can tell when someone says "To be honest---" and is actually being honest, because they'll show signs of physical anxiety when they speak the words. It works that way because the only way to break the cycle of verbally censoring oneself is to confront the fear of speaking openly, using the fight response to counteract the flight response. 'Fight or Flight' is a single system because they're always related. People with rage issues are actively fighting their insecurities like paranoid predators, and people with anxiety issues are insecure but see themselves as having no ability to fight their anxiety triggers, so essentially embrace defeatism when they think, or know, they can't win. People who seem to be 'bipolar' emotional manipulators in police videos are almost always just fearful 'animals' backed into a corner, switching between submissiveness, seductive appeal and aggression to see what sticks, without even doing a thing consciously, which is why drunk people are the most blatant about switching tactics. Being drunk gives the CNS full control of cognition.

So... when they ask if you understand your rights you can save a lot of time and avoid further questioning by saying "NO sir, I do not understand the rights as you have stated them."
Police: "Well, your under arrest."
Woman: "Can I call somebody?"
Police: "who do you need to call?"
Woman: "I was going to call the pawn shop down the street to see if they can help me cash my check...I'm gonna need bail money now."

If someone thinks a bank is difficult with to deal, pawn shops bring it to a much higher level!
That is not common sense. That is what you call someone who thought she was a good liar turning out to be an actual dummy.
Yeah, I guess the bank would call the cops.

I worked in a bank for over 10 years, these type of people show up daily. They even bring in suitcases with their fake $300k checks. All we do is try to keep them there while we call the cops, they are beyond stupid.
Oh my word 😂 once when I was younger I received a check in the mail I took it to the bank to ask if it was real they said no and that was that. I honestly didn’t know that’s why I went to ask LOL some people don’t have parents or anyone that can help with that stuff LOL.. glad the police were not called on me because I legit had no clue. Now at my big age I can definitely tell the difference in checks and they need to teach that in school 😂
@@ashleylewis1047You’re right. They really should teach that stuff in school. Not everybody has parents who sit them down and show them what is what when it comes to checking and savings accounts, balancing a check book, credit scores, etc. Its sad but that unfortunately the world we live in now. A half assed lawyer could have gotten her out of this had she kept quiet.
She had the right to remain silent. She foolishly chose not to. 😮
The fact that she's in a pawn shop instead of a bank says it all.
if she opened a bank and deposited it if it bounced she wouldnt be in as much trouble
The bank would have caught on to her scam as well. I wonder if she was following a romance scam, or some money laundering scheme.

Cools facts but I ain’t reading all that.

If it was my pawn shop, you would have to come back in 3 weeks to get your money once the checked cleared all the way
