To me, these songs as a suite have always been about Kirby's confidence rising. the first act refuses to give you common riffs to memorize and stabilize into, mirroring this horrifying angel and it's conflicting design with the hell you've just been through. but then the sky turns to shadow, and ironically enough, you find your footing. THIS is familiar to Kirby. The god has bled, so it can be defeated, and the music reflects that newfound confidence. And then, in the final act, when your planet itself is at risk, does the song relish that fear? does it dip into minors and half-chords and dissoanance? NO. It pulls out the ultimate theme of your own power, the music that the series has tied to true invincibility. Even in this darkest moment, the battle is already decided. Elfilis has already lost, and all that is left is the victory lap that seals its fate.
Yes! Someone else that gets it! I feel like it goes a step beyond with the "true final boss" versions of these themes as well. You get to what would be the heroic part, but it's not playtime anymore. You're there for the final challenege. In fact, the theme coming back and NOW being familiar to you should give you confidence that you can end things once and for all.
Oh yeah, how can we forget when Kirby absorbed Optimus Prime to kill a Psychic Deity that threatened the reality of two worlds, you know, Kirby's weekly routine
And here we are... the -finale- premiere. Kinda crazy to think that I'm a part of making this video happen, even in an easily replacable way. This song turned out way cooler than I thought it could, but really at this point I should know to never underestimate you. Phenomenal job as always, Jonny!

The Roche Limit is as close as 2 celestial bodies can get before the larger celestial body's force of gravity would literally rip the smaller one apart. For example, the Earth's Roche Limit is around 2.863 radii, or just under 1.5 Earths. If the moon enters that area, the gravitational pull of the Earth would shatter the moon.
No amount of words can describe how much effort you put into Kirby arrangements. It truly is a sight to behold and a delight to hear. Here's to 2023, J!
So I kind of bounced off Forgotten Land halfway through (not for any particular reason) but I probably wasn't going to go back to it. After hearing this arrangement (and maybe listening to it on repeat like a week) I went back and beat Forgotten Land--and loved it. No matter what Kirby faces off against, no matter what gods you throw at him, he always wins. To me, that makes it seem like Kirby, through some inexplicable phenomenon, simply must win. No matter what, the universe *will not let him die.* Kirby is beyond the concept of death. Kirby is beyond any universal truth. To counter or even limit Kirby's power is to defy reality itself. Kirby, by definition, is the only thing keeping reality together. *He is the manifestation of the very fabric of reality, as the universe's final line of defense against any threat.*
i come back to this after a year to note something of great detail about this entire fight. The music starts off in line with the New World, sounding nothing like what you would expect of something on Dreamland. Then in phase 2, it starts to get a little more familiar, much more upbeat and energetic. Then, A Full-Speed Farewell from the New World is entirely the opposite of phase 1, it is almost entirely in line with something that would be heard in a game that takes place on Dreamland, which is perfectly fitting aswell due to it being the Invincibility Candy theme but remixed. Also i am once again saying this is the best final weapon because it shows that none are safe from the wrath of Truck-kun, not even godlike entities.
Johnny always hits the right notes with his remixes. He does a better job than many other creators of capturing why the original was special in the first place.
The moment that last song kicked in (no spoiling) I absolutely gave in to my excitement. No game has *ever* given me such an invincible feeling like this Kirby game, and you did an amazing job on covering it!
Obligatory "this remix hits like a truck." Seriously, excellent work, and the Zelda singing/headbanging, plus the inclusion of Full Speed farewell is icing on the cake.
To anyone who doesn't know what the Roche Limit means, it's the distance at which a less massive astronomical object approaching a more massive one will have the massive object's gravity overwhelm the smaller objects binding energy (the strength of the ability of the object's gravity to hold the object together), which means the less massive object, if it doesn't approach too quickly, will be ripped to bits and shredded by the gravity of the massive one. If the two objects are about EQUAL in mass, they will shred EACH OTHER. However, an object can also collide too fast for it to be shredded.
Say what you will about the rest of the game, but the final [storyline] boss in Forgotten Land has surpassed every final Kirby fight thus far. And that's not an easy bar to hurdle! You've done tremendous justice to it here, guys! Thanks for this!

I think this might be my new favorite cover of yours. Fitting, because I've been waiting for you to cover this song since the week this game came out. This is amazing on every front, seriously.
also man that Full Speed Farewell from the New World bit sure hit me like a truck
Nice pun!
BRUH
Is it weird I can picture this pairing incredibly well with Juno's lyrics?
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
YOU EVEN ADDED FULL SPEED FAREWELL
*AND* IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY IS NEXT OMG
4:10 SO GOOOOOD!!!!!!
I love the remix, but when I read only "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" was 'Oh, no the truck dash theme 😓'
And then... OMG!!! 🤩
Thanks ✨
Following you since 2009
Keep doing the good job! ☺️
If we could give you a Grammy, we would give it to you
DUDE THE EDITING FOR THIS VIDEO IS SO COOL
SONG IS AMAZING AS WELL
Might wanna move tho
Wouldn't want you getting crushed by falling meteorites
I knew, I JUST KNEW this song would get the Void Termina treatment.
Edit: It was better than I ever could've dreamed.
probably the most badass version of this song I have heard
As soon as A Full-Speed Farewell kicked in this went up from banger to SUPER banger for me.
HOLY MOTHER OF MEW IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY IS NEXT ON THE GAMETAL LIST
More like "Two Planets Approach the ROCK Limit"
Kirby games keep on getting even more hype with boss themes and that absolute unit of a name.
4:16 to repeat phase 2
*AND HERE WE ARE*
Happy 2023!... I've gotta say though, that if I had a nickel for every time a Kirby final boss theme was slated as a year finale but was delayed until January 14th (or 13th, or 15th depending on your time zone) of the following year so, in its place was a Sonic cover that was preceeded by a different Kirby song, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
THIS SONG GAVE ME THAT ALLIGATOR JIGGLING FEVER
Why does kirby music always go so hard every time?
DAMN WHAT GOOD MUSIC
OKAY YOU DIDNT HAVE TO INCLUDE THE TRUCK THEME GOD DAMN
no seriously that caught me extremely off guard I was prepared to jam out to a repeat of the 2nd phase theme and then you hit me with a truck thank you so much for this
What better way to have a full-speed farewell to 2022 and kick off 2023 than with two final boss fights involving ultimate lifeforms!
And here we are! Let's meet the ultimate lifeform, specimen ID-F86!
Trust Kirby to have incredible final boss music along with the most dramatic and high-stakes battles.
Something I really love about this final boss(es) is that it feels like a dynamic story.
It’s hard to explain but story wise it very much feels like a back and forth struggle sorta deal.
I can't believe he got zelda to collab with him, this is epic
wish this was on spotify
HOLY CRAP, AND SENATOR ARMSTRONG IS NEXT? We're hitting levels of hype that shouldn't even be possible
Now you’re probably wondering: how did Kirby beat a demigod psionic bio weapon with a semi truck?
Fuck you, he’s Kirby, that’s how
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is now the best-selling Kirby game, outselling the first Game Boy game, Kirby's Dream Land.
The Kirby franchise is now mainstream.
it's not as if it never was tbh, it's just even more popular now
A website operated in Japan holds a game music ranking every year, and this music topped the list in 2022.
And here we are. May these words haunt thee in this clash against gods
Fighting this boss, even I couldn't help but absolutely jam out the music. And yet... this completely blows that original song out of the park!
It'd also be sick if we got Endless Possibility! Favorite song from Unleashed and would probably get the same amount of bonus enjoyment hearing it played and sang by you.
Props to Jonny for showing up at the helipad where this rare encounter occurred.
And here we are
AND HERE WE ARE
we hope and pray that the Argent Comet will descend upon the channel with it's theme
Hits like a truck
ah yes, the only kirby final boss that i wasnt spoiled for
Man what a great way to start off the year. Love the editing in this one, being in the arena was a super cool detail and it looked great. This was a fantastic cover of this track and the inclusion of A Full Speed Farewell from the New World as a 3rd act was a more than welcome surprise. Thank you for this spectacular cover and I'm lookin forward to It Has To Be This Way!
"See, my boy, when two planets approach the roche limit..."
"ENOUGH, DAD!"
😆
I had a feeling it was going to be this
And here we are~
A good way to kick off the New Year
Many may be asking:
What's the Roche Limit?
Well, put simply, the Roche Limit is how close two celestial bodies, usually planets, can get before one begins to tear itself apart.
Obligatory "And here we are!" comment B)
Edit: Finished watching the vid now and fantastic job as always! Love how you included "A Full Speed Farewell from the New World" in there as well, really helps bring the whole thing together wonderfully. Keep up the amazing work :D
I was literally listening to this yesterday saying "if there was a perfect song for gametal it'd be this one"
Thank you!!!
We knew this song was gonna happen, ballot or not. The power of Kirby music is an important part of this channel that we all look forward for! And I'm here, and I'll always be here for it, Johnny!
P.D.: Please do BB Channel from Fate/EXTRA CCC.
