Really appreciate this video. Although I have some notes. I have a 2004 330i ZHP 4 door and there were some differences. I didn’t encounter any left hand threaded screws. But the biggest thing is that I did not have to remove my window at all. There was more than enough room with the window rolled up to get in there and replace. I was expecting this job to take half the day. Fortunately it was done in less than an hour. I’ve been putting it off for ages and wish I had fixed it sooner! Anyway this video was a great guide. Thank you.

mine only unlocks when i pull the handle inside is this still the same problem? my remote also doesnt work either tried charging the battery still wont work so im going to buy one on amazon and have someone program it but also when i lock the doors itll lock but it wont unlock driver side door i have to manually open door with the handle.

Mine snapped at the same position, but instead of spending 80 euros on a whole new BMW carrier unit, I bought a bicycle brake cable with the same knob and connected that to the old cable with a wire clamp. 5 bucks and 2 hours work. Also definitely no need to remove the window. If you roll the window fully up, you can access everything if your arms are not too big.
Did you have to take the rubber weather strip off and the window motor out, or unbolting the rail was sufficcient to pull it out? Thanks.
@@SergeiGerasymov I just took off the panel and airbag. kept the window up... then you have just enough room

can u say how big this cable and knob was? im like detectiv conan and trying to find any information and screen measuring pictures but i dont want to buy twice :D
@@oke115 just a standard bicycle brake cable with a 'mushroom head'
Fantastic video man. The best I have seen. My drivers side door failed on the outside last week and have been getting into the car by rolling the windows down with the key! What broke on mine was the alluminium hook where the cable hooks onto so I just bought the whole unit directly from BMW here in Ireland. Hopefully I will have it fixed by the end if the week.

I have the opposite problem lol. randomly my doors wont open from inside, or from key fob, or from the central locking button.

do you have to take a window out if you only want to change door carrier?
does anyone know as i have the same problem the door handle does not open from the outside but the inside you can open is it the same cable or different

@@Steve-qc9pu yeah there is 2 cables on that runs from the lock to open from inside then there is another one from the lock to the exterior handle. The exterior one from what i did unfortunately requires a new handle if im not mistaken ( cant remember as had so much work done ) but its a easy fix and not too costly. so if its passenger your good as no lock . If drivers i think your lock barrel has to come out from old to new. Was about

Honestly not many, mybe the door handle itself or the clips for the door cart

The part numbers are shown, just type that into google, it can be bought from most auto part stores or the dealership

This doesn't help people that can't get inside their E46..... My passenger side door is electronic... And it's my driver door handle that won't open.... My car unlocks and locks but I can't open the door because the handle broke, my keyfob battery is dead so I can't simply unlock my passenger door and get it that way and no key for that door as well only the driver door has a key.... this socks
Gotta use a door inflator kit with a long hook like the tow guys use
