I think he messed up his ratios too, the ore behind his smelters keeps increasing, when ideally it should remain exactly the same. It's particularly obvious when he put 5 extractors behind one smelter, then after upping the smelter's speed by 50%(which would leave it able to handle 4.5 extractors worth of ore) decides to up the extrators speed too(because if it's already behind it's best to make the problem worse).
I think the easiest solution for this might be to build as many extractors as you can and ship everything to the research center as soon as possible once you develop splitters you can then split raw resource lines off to build more complex items in devoted factory areas while your excess raw resources builds up passive income for developing new factory areas. Also having an easily accessible and splitable main supply line of your basic raw materials will make it way easier to develop more complex factories down the line.
while that would impove income that is really finicky because it depends on the rate of everything. (if you want to make it work 100% of the time.) once you upgrade something it throws off the rates.
@@takumi2023 I agree this plan definitely relies on having a surplus of raw resources but it should be fairly workable if you keep up on building extractors and upgrading them as soon as possible
I love how Matt never _ever_ thinks of using more than one of anything in parallel but instead goes with extremely expensive upgrades and clogged-up one-lane traffic.
unfortunately on the discord, factorio is on the list of games he has already played. I'm hoping for him to maybe play the space expansion when it comes out. 🤞
You should try Mindustry. A good resource management, factory, tower defense game. (Actually, no other game filled the hole in my heart after that, and Builderment was one of them trying)
Day 140 of asking Matt to play Mindustry. The game Matt is playing in this video is incredibly similar to another game that i can't quite put my finger on it... I wonder. (Will you finally play it Matt? This game is pretty much Mindustry, so will you?)
The game direly needs a tool to build straight conveyer belts. Current conveyer belt construction requires a very stable hand and a precise mouse, which I don't think Matt has.
Try mindustry, you won't regret it 😄. It even has some multiplayer with cross-plataforming (mobile and computer, both can be free and legal 😄), so every one can play! Other thing you would like, there are mods and can create your own maps, also has sandbox (hint: you can make de strongest shape as map, sure you would love that) Finally, is literally colonize a planet and destroy the natives! An the very last thing, please play it for everyone, not just patreons🥺🙏
The extensively long name at the beginning reminded me of a joke I saw someone name ages ago. Some days RCE just feels like "let's game it out, at home"! (And I mean this as a compliment, keep on keeping on RCE)
for the money, when you unlock the gold vault you can just build a lot of extactors really far away to make money but before that, just build some extactors in places you don't use and connect them to the research lab. money has never been a poblem for me in this game. Also when you don't have a money problem, buildings(workshop, furnace...) become cheap for you so instead of maximizing the imput of the buildings, you just focus not to waste materials(wood, coal, copper...) by not clogging up the systems. I just put buildings for every extractor because I know I will upgrade those.
It would be really interesting to see you play factorio. That game is awesome and I feel it would fit your channel. Would love to see the more serious engineering principles in that game (like in the first episodes of cities skylines)
You can save cash on covey or belts if you put the factory assembler or workshop or basicly anything and a conveyor infront you don’t need to place it on one it has one built into it
Omg we played so wildly different. I was instantly putting extractors on every deposit in an area, shoving all the ores in a giant smelter blueprint i made
Hey mr RCE can i recommend you the "Assembly line 2"? its a head scratching game i think you'd enjoy it. LOVE your vid keeping doing what you're doing ( making everyone's days)
This is like Mindustry, just without any architechts to kill. Are you being converted to the dark side Matt!? Exchange the ability to build turrets in favour for... decorations!? 😂
Britain improved the colonies. Improved life expectancy/ morality rates, brought new technology, built entire infrastructures, brought safety through unification, education and opened trade. If it were so bad then why would so many people from the colonies VOLUNTEER to fight in both world was and WANT to join the commonwealth?
RCE worrying about efficiency but leaving the iron conveyor belt crooked is the most architectural thing to do
a crooked belt will only affect the initial transport time, but after that, it doesn't matter.
Omg I though I was the only one who noticed
But setting up busses and load distribution
Forgetting to optimize because it's good enough is definitely an engineer thing to do.

@jackcarver1629 what ends up happening is the belts running to the lab end up getting in the way of other belts transporting mid tier resources.
I momentarily wondered why RCE hasn't done a Factorio series yet, and then I saw him place his first conveyor belt and remembered why
This is the reason I want him to do more satisfactory on the public channel xD its funny to see Matt go full on Josh xD
lets game it out is so good at satisfactory lmao so efficient@@Mr3ppozz
I love how Matt never _ever_ thinks of using more than one of anything in parallel but instead goes with extremely expensive upgrades and clogged-up one-lane traffic.
Because it's eXtReMe AuToMaTiOn (of which there's none in the video) :)
He also doesn't seem to be aware he can build more research labs which would unspaghettify his factory a fair bit.
We don't watch him because he's good. We watch him because he's lovely.
@@AliceErishechto be fair he played Mindustry and Shapez before where there's also only one central hub.
Time for RCE to play some Factorio and colonize a planet, just like his ancestors.
yeah will most likley never happen.
by the sounds at the end he has played/heard of it XD "threat of being attacked by architects" XD
Yes
unfortunately on the discord, factorio is on the list of games he has already played. I'm hoping for him to maybe play the space expansion when it comes out. 🤞
@@BusinessVoidwe can hope
Excellent traffic jams. I'd expect no less from a civil engineer.

"Mom can we have Factorio?"
"We have Factorio at home."
*Factorio at Home:*
I’ve been playing this game on my iPad for years at this point and I never would’ve thought someone could make a video out of it yet here you are
Play factorio
This game is factorio as a beta version that works on a 386 cpu
Was just comping here to say that
I wonder why he hasn't done that
If you decide to continue on this game in a series
just keep in mind you can build multiple research buildings (it will save your sanity)

Factorio
Play Mindustry please! It's this game crossed with a tower defense. It's great.
Love your videos! Keep up the good work matt!
This game looks like when you ask your mom for dyson sphere program, and she says we have a dyson sphere program at home.
I need a second episode on this thing it's just hilarious
>buys an iron frame
>look inside
>wooden frame
the architects can't keep getting away with this
0:35 Saying, "Copper at the top," is how you get the attention of everybody from Arizona.
PLEASE play Factorio, I would absolutely loooove to see you try and beat that game Matt!!
Don't forget you can build another research building for father away stuff.
You can!?!?!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming I mean, I'm assuming you can because there's one in the build menu.
@@RealCivilEngineerGamingeven if you can, it doesn't matter to you does it? 😂
i'm just happy rce saw your comment :D saves my sanity as well.
Real civil enginier thank you
Love your videos! Awesome to see you play it too!
RCE: "its underground carnage"
factorio players: not even close
Love this game! I played this on an iPhone about 2 years ago and it’s been updated amazingly since, can’t wait to see what you do🔥🔥
The game direly needs a tool to build straight conveyer belts. Current conveyer belt construction requires a very stable hand and a precise mouse, which I don't think Matt has.
The best solution for now is maybe just creating a line of 10-20 and saving it.
5:37 my friends this can be called *art* 🤣
i would suggest playing mindusty which is really challenging (not for architects), that would be really funny
This isnt Mindustry! C'mon Matt!
Right..
Although it would be a crushing combo breaker if he did play mindustry
This game is very fun! Love to See you playing this Matt!
If you like these sort of factory games look into Factory Town. Automation galore!

I've had builderment for over a year and have never made anything this good
It’s so cool seeing Matt playing a game I’ve played for years.
1:10 Yo bro that is a brilliant idea and they should make a game with that!!
The extensively long name at the beginning reminded me of a joke I saw someone name ages ago.
Some days RCE just feels like "let's game it out, at home"!

I’ve been playing this game for months! Awesome to see you play it too
It's a combo of city ckylines and world box but way better I love it
That is fun to watch a popular RUclipsr playing unpopular game that you completed after 2 years of playing
I used to play this game but at some point i just got so overwhelmed by everything
There was so much going on

Worlds longest covayorbelt? I have on that goes round my island 7 times and somehow it serves a use lol
As soon as I saw conveyors I knew it would be a good video.
Nice of you to play this game
The architect may not attack you like in factorio, they are determined to get you to unlock their decorations.
please matt, play mindustry. it s great, i promise
I’ve been playing this for ages now, nearly completed the whole tree but running out of space. I need to make it more efficient.
I love builder ment
I cant believe that a big RUclipsr plays a former mobile game I play this game and it’s AMAZING!
Neat looking factorio clone. Great video!
This is a Mindustry clone with no combat.
If the conveyor line becomes messed up when the camera moves then just build it incomplete before moving and building more repeat until done

RCE you should play Colonizing Mars!
Great game and great video! Please do more!

OUF! That's not really efficient 😂 But I still can't stop watching, I love this
i hope you make a series on this
Ive ha dthis game downloaded on my phone for years. Super fun when im bored i just forget about it sometimes

I could watch you play this all day 😅
Been a while since there was a timberborners episode... what happened Matt... did they dry out? 😉
Jotaro: "So, it's the same kind of game as Factorio."
Matt, you're *so close* to actually playing Factorio. Just give in, dude. It's electric crack.
Please make a series out of this
Satisfactory is a great 3d version of this
This is a great game for you. More Please!
Lining up buildings is for architects, as an engineer you should make it so messy nobody but you can understand it!
Mindustry without the combat
Hey Matt, that one guy really wants you to play mindustry.
What is this, Factorio for architects?!
Youre my favorite small youtuber
Props to th editor who's started throwing in the Natsuki "wow"

I love this game xD played it for so long
I just realized the second half of the cover(i forgot what word you use) for the videois from the game of the app store👌
Hey Matt you should play Factorio... The map is infinite and you will like the puzzle!
I would be careful of discounting the Decoration side of the tech tree. Some devs are sneaky and put actually useful stuff amongst the decoration.
maybe play mindustry or factorio if you enjoyed this RCE
matt you should try industrial petting
oof that conveyer belt is nasty
Good video Matt
I still remember when rce was at 100K now hes almost at 2MIL!
5:38 imagine failing already 🤣
You should try Opus Magnum or Infinifactory.

This is basically a reskinned mindustry lol.
But it's not have TD genre

"I think that's fully efficient-"
It's not fully efficient, you've got a backlog, you architect!
This reminds me of a peaceful factoria
