Anatomy of a Scene is a series of videos dedicated to specific scenes in anime. In today's video, we focus on Bleach's Horn of Salvation scene and I break down exactly why this scene is so important to the story of BLEACH and the character of Ichigo.

It’s crazy to think as well that when ichigo faced yhwach in the final battle he literally just unlocked his true power and didn’t even get time to train or really get to know his power like that. He doesn’t even know what he could do himself and now imagine if he had like 10 years of training man, would be unstoppable.
The peak of his power. I like how he gave Orihime that cheery reassurance as images of Hollow Ichigo and his deadly rampage flashed in her mind, showing that despite his power he's still Ichigo no matter what. They were then ready to save everyone.
I like this. HoS is one of my favorites. Not only does it complete the story of inner turmoil that limited Ichigo, but also represents the changing world around him. Before the story the factions are split, but after the story the factions are now starting to work alongside one another slowly or begrudgingly. But it is why i like how Ichigo stopped using his hollow mask as he used it because he doesn't accept the hollow within him. But after the fullbring arc he knows the hollow is apart of him so he doesnt need to wear it, he knows the a part of him and in true shikai case he understands that the hollow os him. So he doesnt need to wear the mask to draw rhe hollow because he is the hollow so he just simply need to draw it himself. But because he didnt have enough time to master it he needed Ywach trigger his Quincy to draw out the hollow.
But also a note on him being a translator is because he wants to close the gap between the worlds. Or something like that
I honestly believe this would work better not as his Zanpakuto ability, but due to his special physiology. In a similar sense to Hikone (CFYOW) being able to use all of the races abilities more or less passively.
It just feels a bit disappointing to think that instead of great Zanpakuto and Schrift abilities like other characters, Ichigo will never have something like that.

I agree, however there’s still hope. Like someone else commented, Ichigo didn’t get time to train his new (original) power and he probably has more abilities that he himself doesn’t know about.
Would be cool to see ichigo infuse Quincy arrows with ceros

I'd push back on one thing. But before that..when you say "power" are you meaning "control" or abilities? If it's the former then I agree if it's the latter then I think that's not it

What's his ability? Getsuga is inherited, cero is the most basic decent hollow thing, blut is the main defensive quincy thing
When you think about it.. He never delved deep in any of his powers, my man never tried using kido, never bothered with sonido or gargantas, never tried quincy spells
He just Getsuga his tenshous and that's it
Not saying it's bad or not entertaining or not strong by any means, but.. That's it
When he finally came up with a real ability that's just his, turns out it's a Getsuga on top of another Getsuga lol
Hinestly the levels of grief that was in the plot back when it was weekly upload was something I personally felt because i was going thru a very similar feeling at the time. This will always be the main reason i adore kubo.
It's such a pity we never got to see Ichigo in his prime. Hikone gave us a glimpse at what that would look like by combining multiple techniques. Imagine his speed if he combined Hirenkyaku, Bringer light, Sonido and Flashstep. Imagine his durability if he combined Highspeed regeneration, Hierro and Blut Vene. Imagine his destructive power if he were to use Sklaverei and infuse his attacks with it. I don't even want to think about the potential stuff he could do with Kido. I can only dream of the day we get to see that.😞
The fact that Ichigo with only a few years of training (at max) without true understanding of just what he's capable of is still stronger than some entire anime/manga verses... I don't even want to know just how powerful he'd be if he knew how to use his actual abilities.
Well Kubo already confirmed that any shinigame fused with an hollow can achieve balance using bankai and ressurection. So even if Ichigo is the first soul born with boundarys already fused, still waiting for Kubo confirming Ichigo sister are without boundarys too, other vizards can do it too.

what do you mean by that??
Here's the error no Vizard or arrancar can use the others release so no they can't achieve that same level of power. As for the sisters they get Quincy and maybe shinigami(it's hard to tell if there can be a hybrid of opposites without a middle party) but definitely not hollow since it wasn't a hereditary power.

@@User5hdbhvisards does not born with the hollow and shinigame boundary fused, they need to achievy this by fusi g with a hollow, in a process that normally would cause their death, but an method as been invented by Urahara to stabelise the soul enought to it not implode
@@glizzynator5258from where you read hollow reatsu is not hereditery. Kubo especifically changed the dialogue in the anime to include Masaki descendence will have part of they souls hollowfied, the thing is Ichigo hollow powers are só strong it broken the seal put in Isshin and because he (ichigo) and his sister are beings whitout boundarys in their soul.
You are undeniably the best bleach youtuber of all time. No other youtuber has ever sparked my interest for bleach so much and explained some of its core messages so well. Most people when rating bleach mostly say that he shinigami and arrancar arc are the same thing which is very wrong and shows a short sided approach. Im not saying that anime should be philosofically analysed all the time, but for the case of bleach, like what you have shown, it is a show that needs to be studied deeply to understand its full messages and appreciate its beauty.

Ichigo’s bankia allows him to use Quincy & hollow-shinigami powers simultaneously !
In Shikai, he can only use one or the other but not both at the same time.

It's absolutely possible. Kubo himself said that anyone with hollow powers within them can actually use resurrection if they train .
I think Ichigo can actually change fate. What do you think about it? Do you think Yhwach was actually talking about Ichigo's power, or was he talking maybe metaphorically?

Considering every character with "God" powers have an broken power like Yuha being capable lf changing future, Ichibei controling "black", i think Ichigo trully have the power to change or going against fate, something like Ichigo is not chained by fate like others characters are

So for Ichigo to train his Quincy half in the real world, he would have to fight a hollow (or someone with Hollow reiatsu)
To train is hollow he would have to fight a quincy reiatsu (but haven collected knowledge from a quincy on their abilities or at least with one watching from the side)
Damn, training this power will be complicated for him to do but hope we see this happen (assuming he still has both spirits within him)
Ichigo's Zanpakuto as we see it is not using either the Hollow or Quincy Reiatsu. Rather, the Zapakuto are just using the standard Shinigami Reiatsu. Ichigo isn't used to actively using his Quincy Reiatsu and the breaking of Zangetsu forced the Hollow into an inactive state. That's why we don't see White in the inner world during the confrontation between Old Man and Ichigo. So, the Horn of Salvation is awakened by Ichigo forcibly using Yhwach's Reiatsu to agitate him. Therefore, the state Ichigo is in is only using the Shinigami and Hollow parts of his power, not his own Quincy power. And, this makes sense because Ichigo doesn't want to use the Quincy power lest Yhwach gains an advantage. Hollow is poisonous to Yhwach whereas Quincy is part of Yhwach. This means, Ichigo is shown to be using roughly two thirds of his actual Shikai power during the climactic confrontation.
As for the actual Zanpakuto ability, I do believe that it is Getsuga Tenshou. I believe that each of the 'Getsu' type Zanpakuto have access to Getsuga Tenshou as their base ability, but each one is different based on the underlying properties of the Zanpakuto itself. Isshin's Zanpakuto is fire based, so his Getsuga Tenshou is a fire one. Ichigo has access to the turbulent conflicting Reiatsu types, so his Getsuga is one that can be altered based on which type of power he's actively drawing on.
Ay man, I agree with everything besides when you said Zangetsu is equally his zanpakuto as white. That's false. Most of his abilities and techniques are hollow based, in other words, zanpakuto based. Dude hollowfied against YH , he didn't got Vollsterndich

You know whats is funny, Kubo showed Ichigo back story where Ichigo since super young treined martial arts, after Ichigo adquered his power he only give preference for his close combat capabilitys, probable Ichigo can use other long range atacks other than Getsuga, but he probable are not interest in them 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not really. Its just that old man zangetsu only taught him getsuga.
If he had been honest with him, he could have taught Ichigo other quincy techniques. And White should have been more gentle with Ichigo 🥹😂. But in general, he has potential to use all of the quincy & hollow & kido abilities. 👍

@@kelvinallen9327well Hollow Zangetsu showed Ichigo ways to use his sword other than throwing energy, like throwing the balde and pulling it back using the "bandage" in its handle, Ichigo does not use these fighting stily because henprobable think it is too violently, remembering that getsuga tensho can be used to make the blade even more dangerous coati g the blade in energy.

Ywach nerfed ichigo the moment Ichigo got serious, the hell arc only showed Ichigo with only one blade suggesting that Ichigo may have only one soul within him.

@@User5hdbh Kyoraku is different though, the younger spirit still exists within him and there wasn't suggestion she seized to exist after he gave the blade to Nan'o

Ignoring the problem of drawing Ichigo with 2 swords, Ichigigo spent so much time using only one blade he probble prefer using only one sword until things get serious

@@User5hdbheven as a narrative dangai is weaker since he has no actual zanpakuto. And ichigo in the blade is me is able to manifest his zanpakuto at will fully fused with his zanpakuto unlike the minor fusion in dangai.
