I've been rewatching the series after nearly twenty years since last watching it, and I had the good fortune of completely forgetting about that moment. Giles 😍😍 I wanted to say that i’m 22 years old, I discover Buffy when I was 16 and it changed my life. Even though the show is 20 years old, i found it and loved it, cause is still a very important and good show. You as Buffys basically only father figure were mine to. My husband introduced me to the world of Buffy when we were first married (2001), and we got each other the DVD sets as Christmas and birthday gifts for years. When our daughters were older, we got to relive the series through new eyes when they watched it for the first time. We all still quote lines randomly or start singing songs from the musical, etc. I smiled all through this video- feels like listening to an old friend.
According to cannon Giles dies in Season 8 the "Last Gleaming, Part IV", but I would forgive a retcon that allows him to survive, if it meant that I could see him on the screen again, played by this magnificent actor. Edit: Apparently, Giles is resurrected in Season 9, so Giles on TV again is a go. Let's make it happen!
Tony is such a sweetheart. I will always treasure getting to sit and talk with him at the First Annual Motor City Buffycon. He's a real gent and an extremely caring individual.
He really is. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a convention in Detroit 15 years ago (!) and he was such a sweetheart. I was going through some rather emotional things at the time (I'd lost my uncle the week before) and while I was talking to him after his concert I started to cry. He set his drink down and pulled me into a hug. He just held me and told me to "forget all these people and take care of you." I'll never forget that.

Hi I'm 15, idk who I'm saying this to exactly but I've been watching buffy literally my whole life about once every 2 years because my mum is obsessed, I idolized Giles and saw him as a father figure (oddly).... idk, just wanted to mention it, that character and Anthony have both really helped me🤷♀️
He always more of a father for Buffy then her own father Hank. Shame he left the show early in the 6th season and made occasional guest appearances then.

I found, when I watched this was a pre-teen/teen (back in the day) I was all about Willow and Buffy and Faith etc., and I still am... but what I took from my most recent rewatch of it as an ‘adult’ was really how great a character Giles is and I relate to him a lot. I always loved him but couldn’t relate being so young... but do now. Quite a lot actually. Anthony played him absolutely perfectly! I miss Buffy. 😔

eh, if the new show is in continuity with the old one (which seemed to be what they were trying to do), then there's no reason to bring back any sort of council. they should have a slayer organization that's active all around the world, and the show should be about a new slayer who doesn't really get along with the other slayers at first, but they give her some rope to take care of her own town her own way as long as she doesn't pull a faith and go evil.
