I remember watching this at the time. Whole family in the front room and pissed ourselves laughing all the way through. Especially the coats on the bed and of course, the incontinence pants. I saw, Billy many times over the past 45 years. Used to drink with him when he lived round the corner from us in Fulham. Saw him on his farewell tour a few years back at the Hammersmith Odeon [I'll never call it the Apollo]. Thank you so much for putting this up on youtube. Cheers.
I'm with you Hugo. Billy is definitely the funniest comedian in my lifetime - and I'm 67 so I grew up with half the funny folk in this audience. As for Hammersmith "Apollo" it will always be Hammy Odeon to this old rock chick. So many fabulous memories of that place.

Thank you for sharing this, I'm grateful to have caught it whilst it's still here.Billy is such a blessing and the world would be infinitely poor without his wonderful humour, eccentricity and individual take on us humans. And mostly, his huge heart. Forever grateful.
Billy had his usual pre show nerves about what to say but as the show went on he could hear his good friend Robbie Coltrane laughing over the crowd & just went for it. RIP.
I remember when I was living in Glasgow in the mid 90s, that's how we went to many great parties: Either met someone in a pub who was on his way to a party and then went with him, or walking along the streets, trying to hear music, to spot a party..- asking for "Jimmy" then 😁 Sometimes the only way to have a great time after the pubs closed and you didn't want to go to a club....- well, or after even the clubs were closed.. As long as you brought some spare carry-oot, it was okay 😉 It even worked the other way round: When I was invited, it was always okay to bring somebody.. Every one was happy to meet new people and usually the host didn't notice anything anymore anyway, since it was a saying that the best parties were those you didn't remember... 🥳 Had some of the best parties as a "crasher"!
Pure comedic genius. You either love him or hate him but Billy will always be my favourite comedian. Im just sorry that I have never had the chance to see him live.

He did have a rough childhood but he got through it in his own way by talking about it on stage in his own brilliant way (obviously he also told us about it in his book)!! A genuine Man who made it from rags to riches by making people laugh & he was brilliant at everything he did including his world tours etc. God bless you Billy, a REAL comedy genius and a terrific man, father & husband.
Billy's the best. Thanks for the upload. So many familiar faces in the audience.
He is and will forever be the master of comedy in our great country. Where ever he appeared around the UK, he played to packed houses. I have never heard anyone hold a story like Billy. I wish him the best of health and long life.
Legendary! Can remember watching it as a kid. Must admit that watching it just now I got at least as much pleasure from "celeb spotting" than the actual show. :P
"Ooh, Barry McGuigan!"
"Floella Benjamin!" :P
Ha ha! I was doing the same thing!

@26:02 I rolled around the floor laughing when he mentioned breaking a choclate bar
Sometimes pain can be a good thing. My sides are splitting and it hurts!!! Bless you Billy for the years of joy.
The true genius of comedy. There will never be a better comedian

many years ago we seen billy walking in the street Brisbane City . i yelled out Billy !!
F off ! he laughed .
RIP.
One of Greatest comedians in my opinion
The greatest
Brilliant! One of the all-time greats.
I remember when I was living in Glasgow in the mid 90s, that's how we went to many great parties: Either met someone in a pub who was on his way to a party and then went with him, or walking along the streets, trying to hear music, to spot a party..- asking for "Jimmy" then 😁
Sometimes the only way to have a great time after the pubs closed and you didn't want to go to a club....- well, or after even the clubs were closed..
As long as you brought some spare carry-oot, it was okay 😉
It even worked the other way round:
When I was invited, it was always okay to bring somebody.. Every one was happy to meet new people and usually the host didn't notice anything anymore anyway, since it was a saying that the best parties were those you didn't remember... 🥳
Had some of the best parties as a "crasher"!
Genius. When you are feeing down, listen to Billy.
Pure comedic genius. You either love him or hate him but Billy will always be my favourite comedian. Im just sorry that I have never had the chance to see him live.
And it's too late now, the Alzeimers has gripped him hard in the last year.
@@TheScouseassassin I know, its a tragedy. Poor man!
He has Parkinson’s not Alzheimer’s
@@Marc1996L Ah yeah that's right...maybe it's me who has the Alzheimer's!
I have this on dvd and i never get tired of Billy's humour
Thank you sooo much for putting this on in its entirety
Billys greatest performance! Funny every damn minute.
Agreed. Havent watched it for about 20 yrs - awesome to watch this one again!
Billy Connolly is such a legend he made Tywin Lannister laugh like a wee schoolboy!
Long live Sir Billy Connolly, The Godfather of Comedy.
Pure genius rocked with laughter from start to finish,
There will never be another Billy Connolly. The best. XX
Billy Connolly an absolute legend, an absolute legend. There are a lot of comedians which make me laugh so much, Billy Connolly is one of them, just makes me laugh so much to the point I'm in agony on the floor. This man has an absolute talent for brilliant superb humour. Much love to Billy, who is also a wonderful and lovely person in real life also. 😅❤😅❤😅❤😅❤😅❤😅❤😅
Without any doubt whatsoever , the funniest stand up comedian of all time, anywhere in the world…
You would put him ahead of George Carlin ?
Scottish humour is the 🐐
"I could have snuck up behind him in the canteen and saved the country a fortune!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I bet school mates of Boris think that too! 🤔 😆😆

Living in Bradford during the 80s, we had two VHS videos - this and Apocalypse Now - both got us through the Thatcher years.

Billy is amazing! Wot a flashback looking into the audience !
Sir Billy. Still the greatest stand-up comedian we ever produced.
An absolute Genius - I had the pleasure of meeting Billy in a coffee shop in Gozo - He 's a true gentleman!
This vid will always be my fav. I’d lost both my parents that year within 4 weeks of each other and all I could do was cry for months until my brother hired this vid for the night and it was the first time I laughed for a long time, not just laughed I cried laughing it was that incredibly funny. Billy Connelly thank you for bringing me back 💙💙

Bonnie purple mountains!
Such a wonderful person, both as a comedian and as a human being. He's one of the very few 'celebrities' who'll I'll be genuinely upset when he passes on. Generally I don't find stand up comedians funny in any way at all with the exception of Billy Connolly, and I absolutely love the way the he seems to be enjoying telling the stories as much as the audience enjoys hearing them. Always a real pleasure hearing him.
He could wander off topic then pick it up a few minutes later. An absolute star. I read somewhere that someone once bet him he couldn't do two consecutive evening shows without using the same material, but he did.
Absolute legend he will be in our laughter for ever ❤️
I am so glad I finally found this in HD. Thank you Gudgie. One of my favourite videos of Billy.
I've been watching a few of these lately, so sad to see how many of the 'famous' faces in the audience are no longer with us
What a brilliant performance - just perfect comedy and perfect Billy!
