I’ve seen some things months or years ago and today I found you again. 😊I’m a ceramicist student and currently making my own kitchenware for when I’m moving out someday. Your cups would maybe be a little too colourful for me ☺️ I will probably glaze my pieces in a white crackle glaze and two different shades of blue

I use cones on each shelf in every fire. My top and bottom shelves are always slightly 'lower fired' than the middle shelves.

Hi Jon. I'm new to pottery and I watch all of your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I really enjoy all of them and have learned a lot from them as well. I have a silly question. I ordered some clay from Continental Clay and I just opened it and noticed that it says it is recommended to wear an apron, gloves and a mask. Are these just precautionary measures? I never see anyone wearing a mask or gloves in any of the video/tutorials I watch and was just wondering because I really don't want to wear a mask or gloves when throwing on the wheel.

Hi John, great videos mate, I wonder if you can help, I'm totally new to all this, and the biggest issue I'm having is about glazing ? What glazing are you using for all them vibrant colours, obviously they are good safe , I am struggling to find such colours that are also food safe, could you point me in the right direction please, many thanks, and keep up the great video s

If you do decide to re-fire a couple of those mugs (blue/red interior) will you re-glaze just the outside or both outside and inside? 😊
I do t think he is re-glazing, just refiring.
I only use brush on glazes and my Aurora Green always comes out very satin matte. The picture though seems to be noce and glossy. Others have gotten AG to go glossy with no problem.
How do I get my Aurora Green to go gloss?! Is that only on their dipping glaze? This is such a frustrating thing for me!
assuming that you're not underfiring the glaze, are you using a thick enough coat? maybe you could do a test tile applying 1,2,3,4 coats to see how your glaze reacts
@@dummydami orton witness cones say I'm hitting over cone 5. Probably 5.5. I think I tried this with cone 6 too. Still the same. 2 coats or 3. I glaze heavy & thick with Haike brushes. This is my frustration with mayco.
