    Set the pot on two sticks across the top of the glaze bucket. Pour over. Drips back into bucket. Saves the guns. Awesome flower pot!

    Great flower pot, EC must be well pleased. What about trying the red glaze on first just on the top part, then the black in your usual way, I might make it less prominent and blend in. I like a bit of red so long as it's subtle. Great stuff though Jon. Cheers Bob 🇬🇧

    A paint pot on top of a wire drain rack set the sprayer heavy and spray it . It’s what I’d do. Set that wire rack over your glaze buckets and let it drain back in there. Use a low air pressure though so it would run off well

    Sansevieria is my favorite genus of houseplant! I currently have about 12 species of them. That looks like a Sansevieria trifasciata. Neglect the crap out of it, most people kill them by changing their pots too often and over watering. It looks so squee in there! I wish I could post a photo of mine in my massive coil pot I made in school. Nifty!

      if you empty your cold coffee from your cup and/or put a tablespoon or two of dead coffee grounds in your "mother's tongue" plant (start gradually, then increase as desired), it will develop some very beautiful red's and varying tones of yellow that will look so awesome with that planter.

    On accomplishing little mundane tasks, you could try training your brain into liking the satisfaction of getting them done. You could do that by simple ways like making a nice list and tikking tasks off, or rewarding yourself when you get them done with like 10 more minutes wake boarding that afternoon, or a little chocolate or other snack ;) I've found that helpful
    Any way I really enjoy watching your videos, specially Kiln openings!
    Take care :)

    Nice!!! I agree that the red in some of those pieces is a little too overpowering??? Keep testing though. Maybe if it is not the top layer of glaze??? Hey! I really enjoy all your videos. I'm new to pottery, but I love it so much and would love to sell one day. I was wondering if you could do a video on how you approach filling a kiln and how to set it up to fire and the firing process. I was also curious on if you're using under glazes or normal low fire glazes?

    I have been waiting for you to fire the big pot. Fantastic! I looked back at the video when you threw the pot in sections which was actually a great idea for those of us that cant handle 15 pounds of clay at one time. I’ve watch Joel Cherrico work as well and he has some great glaze combinations. Lisa Orr, an Art of the Pot Tour in Austin Texas uses a red underglaze and colored engobes to get vibrant color combinations on low fired pottery. .I really like the red accents. It was interesting how it ran down in just some areas. Did you put on as an underglaze totally underneath your accent glazes cause it just peeked out so randomly like it was added last on the pot? Might like the red on the black coaster if it was totally in the center and not jut a dab. I really like the way you experiment with different combinations. It’s like Christmas when you open the kiln. I agree the green was lacking but then it might look different if it was totally in the center surrounded by black instead of white. As always it comes down to personal preference. Great video! Again!

    • @jennycaldwell1
      @jennycaldwell1 5 лет назад

      anna hall It’s really not advisable. Pieces with glass are not considered food safe because of the crackling effect. Those tiny cracks can harbor bacteria that washing won’t remove. In addition, there’s a risk that, over time, with washing and temperature changes, small pieces of the glass can fall out. You don’t want to swallow that.

    • @Jonthepotter
      @Jonthepotter  5 лет назад

      Yes the glass should stay far away from anything that would be used for drinking or eating.
