    Thanks. This is the best comparison video of Worth Clear and Brown fluorocarbon strings out there. I've watched so many. Yours clearly demonstrated the difference.

    Thank you. I can hear the difference! Fellow listeners, try using headphones to really hear the subtle difference between the strings in this video. I switched my Kala over to Worth clear strings (low G) and it sounds like a whole new instrument. My other uke has Aquila Super Nylgut strings, and its just nice to have both. Sometimes I'm in the mood for the tighter sound of the Aquilas, but sometimes its nice to have the more relaxed sound and feel of the Worths.

    Thanks to your videos, I’m convinced to try some Worths Browns and Clears. Just ordered from your store and have to say not only did you have the best prices on strings, loved the free shipping and was pleasantly surprised to see your store had shipped them within just a few hours of ordering them! Fantastic!😀

    My husband and I have Worth strings on some of our instruments. The Brown Lights sound really nice on a Kala Bamboo uke purchased from Terry. The BB have a wonderful mellow sound on our Kala Baritone. I also purchased the Clear Lights to replace strings on a couple of Flight Travel Ukes for our niece and nephew. They have said those strings are easier for them to play. So Worth strings are “worth” buying!😊

    I love my browns. I have clears on now, when i got my latest uke i ordered a bunch of different strings to try, but i am sure i will return to browns.

    I just bought a kanile’a tenor. It came with worth browns. This uke has the solid Koa top with solid mahogany back and sides. It’s natural character is warm and mellow. With the browns it’s almost sleepy. I’m going to switch to worth clears. Hopefully that will wake it up a bit. It’s s beautiful uke but I think it needs a bit of brightness to go with the dark. For me anyway.

    I play mainly Worth Browns. I agree, I feel they are warmer. I do like the worth clears, but I use them when the the browns don't blend well with the ukulele solid wood grain.

    I have browns on 1 of my tenors. I think I may swap them to clears. The clears sound brighter to me and the Browns I have never seemed quite what I was hoping for.

    I would bet that in a blindfolded test as a listener it would be very difficult to notice any difference. As a player you might notice more differences because of the feel, etc albeit i would say small. Thank you for the video!

    I use both of them but prefer the Browns as they do seem to have a much warmer tone when using Browns' Low G vs. Aquila Nygult Low G

    clear - sound brighter and seem to have louder projection.
    brown - seem less bright/ sweet warmer and has lower volume projection.
    maybe it’s my ears that are deceiving me but the strings do give nice sound.

    Before you even started talking about it, I decided the Browns were definitely “warmer”. I would love to figure out a warm sounding string that doesn’t feel too tight.

    Not gonna lie.
    The Browns sound like they'd be used to play a ukelele in a horror sound track. There's like a distorted sound

  • @erickluviano981

    I feel like the clear /nylon strings give the ukulele more of a guitar sound but the worth /nylgut strings are pretty to strum ? Idk if that’s just me though

  • @tiptonbrett
    @tiptonbrett Год назад

    The clear sound much better. They have a cleaner sound and sound crisper. The brown sound a hair nasally in comparison. I wouldn’t call them more mellow, although I can understand the description, but they sound less rich-like some of the overtones are suppressed. I suspect the browns may help mellow out a bright sounding ukulele and the clears would be great for a more fuller sounding ukulele-like a pineapple bodied uke. I suspect the sound difference I’m hearing is just the clears being a better match for this particular uke.

    Isn't is remarkable how the Worth Brown's reveal their sweet character in finger picking? The Browns sound like pure fluorocarbon with just a hint more warmth. Worth clears sound just like Martin fluorocarbons to me. Both very true to the ukulele's character; they let it come through uncolored. Aquilas sound like Aquilas sound :| They color a ukulele Aquila. I only use them if a ukulele sounds bad and needs some help. That is to say Aquilas sound better than some ukuleles so the sonic masking can be a good thing. To use Aquilas on a fine instrument is a mistake in my opinion.

    I'm amazed that anyone can hear any difference between these 2 sound bites ..... I certainly can't detect any great difference between the 2 by ear. I do have Worth Clear (on a Tenor) and Brown (on a Concert) but can't distinguish between them on sound. What I have found is that the Clear appear to have less tension than the Browns for picking and I really like both of these strings for fingerpicking compared to others that I've tried (Di Addario, Pepe Romero, Aquila, Dunlop).

    • @BaritoneUkeBeast4Life
      @BaritoneUkeBeast4Life 4 месяца назад +1

      I agree, I find it funny how everyone here are commenting thinking that they can hear the minuscule differences between the clear and the browns when I believe it is purely psychological and are being swayed by public opinion, but nobody seems to notice the glaring elephant in the room that is poor tuning. I especially noticed how the browns were even more out of tune than the clears when hitting notes that were minor chords.

  • @BaritoneUkeBeast4Life
    @BaritoneUkeBeast4Life 4 месяца назад

    I think your all crazy, and that their is no noticeable difference in sound between the clears and the browns outside of the uke playing the browns was more out of tune than the uke playing the clears. I believe the difference you think you hear is purely psychological and heavily influenced by opinions you have heard voiced by others. I bet if you were blindfolded and heard the same song being played from start to finish on 5 different ukulele’s strung with the clears, and 3 different ukuleles strung with the browns you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference of which were which.
