    Thank you for this video! Quick question. Is there a quick way to to a group transfer and have all of the programs save as individual files so I can save them to the server in their prospective part folders?

    • @haasautomation
      @haasautomation  5 лет назад +1

      Allan - On the Next Gen Control NGC, we can select a number of programs, under LIST PROG, which puts a check mark next to them, and transfer them, or we can move them all into a folder like you would on a computer. On Classic controls, we would cursor down to the bottom of our list of programs, LIST PROG, highlight “ALL” and then press the F2 key to have all of our programs sent in a single text file to the destination folder. We can open these all.nc files on the NGC, but we do not save them in this way, we’ve moved to a modern folder structure. Thanks for the comment. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day

    That looks easy Mark. So When You reload, I would assume it would be to an empty machine or a machine with no programs listed? When You select the All or backup does it just drop them in like we are used to seeing them in List Programs?

      If you load the all file from the USB then it will "extract" it to memory as individual files and it will ask you to overwrite each one if they're currently still in memory

    Hi Mark, First of all thank you for your very useful videos I wanted to ask you this: How come on my Vm3 in list program I can not find the word ALL? I wanted to transfer the programs as you say but I miss this wording, and also I do not see NET SHARE in the menu
    Thanks a lot for the answer.

      Hi Simo Tube - You may have a newer machine with a Next Gen Control. On NGC machines we are able to create and use folder structures just like a computer. We can select all programs in a folder by pressing F3>Select All, and copying (F2). We can also select individual programs to copy, by highlighting each and pressing ENTER. Hope this helps. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day

    Why HAAS or any other popular CNC control systems does not use some high level programming language with graphics primitives for program design (BASIC with some vector graphic elements for example) ?
    I use ST10 and very often want to have parametric features in G code -- for example compute coordinates using current tool parameters (tip radius , or internal/external tool type), functions, loops and symbolic variables (not ugly #nnn macro vars).
    ( program speed is not a problem -- it can be compiled into low level bytecode or ever CNC system machin ecode on program edit ).
    And it is no question about CAM system -- BASIC-like script very light in memory usage, see old 8bit computers, and it's cheap to make it ever itself, comparing full sized CAM system embedded in CNC panel.
    Does HAAS control panels have some SDK to make user extensions ?

      Yes, F4 and choose Save All Which will save all control Parameters, settings, programs, alarm history, etc, or just select Save Offsets.

    So how do you restore them ? I see one file with all the text within, but I'm missing where the extraction comes in.

    • @haasautomation

      Mike - Once you have your single “All.nc” type file, you can load it back on to your Haas machine in the same way that you would any regular program (each software version is slightly different). It will extract “All.nc” into all of its individual O-number programs, automatically. Thanks for the comment. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day.

    I work with a vf3 it uses a floppy .. I've done select all only problem is I don't want to be one single file . I want each program to have it's on file in case I have any editing . The computer it self can only handle 200 programs .

      I feel your pain. We just traded in a 2003 haas vf5 for a new 2018 vf5. I ran into a floppie disc issue with my most current floppie, the company security crap corrupted the floppie when I plugged in the external hard drive to the computer. So what was left was another floppie that wasnt as freshly current, and a huge file that was sent thru rs232 to a computer not hooked up to security controls. Now as I'm updating my programs to the new controller, I use the all file, open it up, and I press control, then find on keyboard, type in the part number, and itll jump to the file I'm looking for! I highlight what I want, paste it in notepad, make a few edits, dump it to my flash drive, and the way I go. Only takes a few minutes. Your right, it would be nice if they were all broke down, but I'm just glad I'm working off the most current version of program before the pin was pulled

    I have brand new Mini Mill how do I turn the Setting 23 back on??? I turned it off but it wont turn back on?

    • @haasautomation
      @haasautomation  6 лет назад +3

      George - If the Active Program in MEMORY happens to be a 9000 program (O9xxxx), it won’t let us turn Setting 23 back on. We can just switch to a non-9xxxx program, and it should allow the change. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day

      David Martin buy a cheap USB to rs232 cross wire. Download a free hyper terminal program and back up direct to the computer. Alot easier and safer than trying the usb
