Someone needs to timestamp every time he says “that’s a bar” because he calls out ALL the best lyrics. Love your attention going to there, btw. How can anyone say these lyrics are plain or underwhelming. So many huge thoughts in there. 100% agree with your thoughts, man!
I love seeing your reactions and the way you dissect every lyric! Personally, Redecorate broke me, it made me completely forget that I was vibing with the other songs. I understood it as the struggle of losing a loved one and going thorugh the doubt of "I want to leave everything in its place and remember that person, or start redecorating and try to move on by forgetting it". Besides the line "Make my people do decisions wondering what to do" hit me right in the feels. Hope the next album comes out soon. I'm excited to see where they take this new sound
I really think bounce man is about Ned. Which represents his creativity and he had to say goodbye to his creativity so he could make this album for dema.

BUT the interview that i can't find/recall, he said the next (and last) dema album will tie things up and explain with an ending. the devil may work fast, but Ernest works faster. seriously dude, i was expecting this in the next couple days not the same day of the album release! appreciate it though! I've been looking forward to your reaction almost as much as the album itself.
The last two songs being so different and much darker was absolutely on purpose. The whole album is meant to be "propaganda" from DEMA and it's like Tyler and Josh are being forced to put on a smile and make music and pretend like everything is fine. But everything is not fine. So at the end of the album they break out of that and finally show how they are really feeling.
i saw a comment on the ‘Good Day’ video: Tyler imagined what his reaction would be if he suddenly lost his wife and daughter. He manifests the stage of denial in its fullness by declaring that it’s a good day despite what has tragically occurred in his family, pushing off the contemplation of what life will be like now they’re gone
Yes, and I feel like this sets off the theme for the whole album. It sounds so happy but its a fake happy, a false front put up. Then I think the turning point for the album is Mulberry Street, where he starts facing that it's ok to admit you aren't all ok.
I could see this whole album as working through the process of grief after such a big loss like that. Going from denial to ending in suicidal thoughts (with redecorate.)
19:56 oh my goshhhh! So true, I always thought he was talking about drugs, but now you helped me see the bigger picture, and I SEE MYSELF IN IT! You word things fabulously, and I'm absolutely in love with your channel. Twenty One Pilots brought me to you and I am NOT in any way disappointed! Keep this going! I'm excited to see where this channel goes!
Mulberry street: place in New York, one of the first places tyler went out of state to to meet with a person from their label. Formidable: probably about his wife, could also be about Josh, or anything else lol Bounceman: seems to be about Ned
This!! No chances is easily my favourite on this album. I love it so much but would also kill to hear it taken even a step further and for someone to put filthy strings over it like tommy profitt would do.
I read that formidable is for josh. He says fast forward 13 years. That’s how long they’ve been together. He hopes that josh knows how important he is to him and tøp.
Someone mentioned that Bounce Man is about Ned and it actually makes a lot of sense! Because in an interview Tyler mentions that a friend of his turned off his phone and he's lost and we know it's true because in Choker's video there's a sign of him.
Seriously love you're videos, I've been racking my brain all day on what artists these song remind me of..... benny and the jets spot on! Thank you so much for connecting those dots. I listened to the song 3 times before you did it on the fly. This is why you and "No Life" are the best reactors in the game. You know your music and you can breakdown songs with ease. I love me some T O P and I love listening to your breakdowns.
Alright, I have a theory about Mulberry street. Dr. Suess’ first children’s book was titled And to Think What I Saw on Mulberry Street. The book describes a boy who went out to the aforementioned street; and when he gets home he makes up a story about the things he saw on his adventures, when in reality all he saw was a horse and a wagon. So my interpretation of the song would be Tyler going at all of those people who post fictionalized versions of their life on social media to make themselves seem more interesting, when in reality, they are just a horse and a wagon
(Haven’t finished the video) I’m so happy you’re finally all caught up man. I’ve loved the journey since the beginning of you discovering TØP and now to have you with us hearing the same music as it comes out is so cool. Love you have you with us man 💛💛
just realized the outside comes after the two of the lead singles and other people would probably like click out of the song since "i'm already bored i've heard this all before" idk if that's intentional but
duuuuude you should search the Dema universe Tyler created, to understand the context of the songs and the albums... it will make you appreciate their music even more... idk, for me it has
It's funny you mentioned thinking of Billy Joel and Elton John when hearing Good Day because Tyler just recently said in an interview that he likes their music a lot! Spot on!
A normal Album would have ended with Bounce Man, it feels like an ending to it. But twenty one pilots never does what you expect. Instead they flip the script, letting the happy facade fall.
tyler is unbelievable at what he does. if it wasn't already immediately obvious what 'Redecorate' is talking about -- as I've seen that connection hit really quickly for some people -- 'Redecorate''s lyric video really reveals the double meaning in his writing. I definitely felt like he took a song that was _inspired_ by the passing of his friend's child, and worked it into something that could be related to from a very _intimate_ point of view. that double meaning holds so much weight from both sides; "do I tidy up after my loved one, now that they're no longer here to do so?" versus, "do I tidy up before _I leave,_ so that my loved ones don't _have_ to?" Both come from a very forlorn, despairing place in two different ways, and I think Tyler nailed that feeling in the production of the song, too. thank you for the reaction man! I was _waiting_ to see you pop up with a Scaled & Icy reaction in my feed, and you did not disappoint! loved seeing your appreciation for 'Bounce Man' -- it was one of my unexpected favourites from the album, and I love that you picked up on that thread of melancholy woven just beneath the upbeat production of the song. Keep it up! Love your work.
🔥😍 Commentary Reaction 💯❣️ From Wikipedia "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" is Dr. Seuss' first book. It's like saying and to think I saw it in my imagination! In the Doc's book a boy named "Marco describes a parade of imaginary people & vehicles traveling along a road, he calls Mulberry Street, in an elaborate fantasy story he dreams up to tell his father at the end of his walk."
Tyler said that Mulberry street is in NYC- the first time he went to the big city with his manager and was about to meet record executives there. It's a happy song ❤
Redecorate talks about parents whose child's passed away, either by suicide or other means. Tyler heard how they decided to leave their child's room untouched, that's how he get the inspiration, cause this kids forced their families to decided leave their rooms the same or redecorate it. That's why is the song that hit the hardest for me of Tøp

Anyone who watched the live stream experience will now understand how much irony in this album is and that it sounds happy, but it fit so well into the whole concept if their story telling.. like after watching it ot all make sense now
You have got to watch the live stream. It’s an experience that no top fan should miss. I should know by now not to have any preconceived notions when it comes to this band but, I thought it was going to be a performance of only the new album. Um, nah, they wove in songs from previous eras and created a tapestry that can only be called a masterpiece. My mind was blown. All live. I knew Tyler had moves but I didn’t know Tyler has MOVES! They’re both so talented. Next. Level. Genius.
Also, this video made me so happy. I’ve been a subscriber/Patreon for a long time. I love your thoughts and analysis. Seeing your face reacting to these songs and watching your mind get blown by them was so fun to watch. Lol. As always, great job!
Omg this album is crazy good! And that livestream was something out of this world! It was phenomenal! It's up on RUclips, so hope you get a chance to watch and react.
Scaled and Icy was everything I expected and more. It wouldn't be T0P if the songs didn't sound happy and have dark lyrics ya know. Formidable gives me Beatles vibes not so much REM, but it's funny you mentioned them. Twenty One Pilots has always reminded me of REM a bit, like with all the introspective lyrics. Now I was totally expecting a couple of heavier songs but No Chances blew me away in the first 15 seconds. I'd love to hear your thoughts and reactions to the livestream event, that was one of the most amazing works of art I've ever experienced. I'm in awe of how much time and care Tyler and Josh put into everything they do. I often call them musical geniuses, but they are really artistic geniuses. It's more than just the music and the videos. You'll understand what I mean if you see the livestream or even better see them live. There's nothing else like a Twenty One Pilots concert, it's something that stays with you. I can't really explain the feeling, it's almost spiritual in a way.
the first time reacting to bounce man i freaked out so much in the first 5 seconds because i listen to his brother's (jay joseph) music too and he has a song called jumpman and when i saw bounce man on the tracklist i expected it to be somehow related to his brother's song and his brother literally sings in the song, the starting vocal is his brother
The History There were some people arrested, Josh went to get them out, Clancy was captured again and again The bishops probably killed Clancy and found his secret site, now on the secret site you have the note "Dema's holy land has been violated we have taken appropriate action to stop the leaks of documentation" *Summary of content* *on Blurryface the nine main songs invoke the depression god Blurryface, the trench is the album where people try to escape from the city that worships this god and Scaled And Icy is the bishops trying to convince you to stay in the city and die for the god of depression Blurryface* Lore Each bishop represents one of the nine songs on the cover of Blurryface for example: Sacaver comes from Tear In My Heart he is the "themed" bishop of love Neon Gravestones represent the temptation of death Each tower in Dema is a dungeon/house (house for bishops, torture dungeon for banditos) They live on the basis of vialism, basically you either obey or you are put to rot in a tower with vultures Bishops do not see yellow because it is the color that represents mental health I don't know if it's literal, but Clancy mentioned that he knows how to levitate and spit fire, he's like an air bender And now there's a dragon too. Thats it, the whole thing
Mulberry street reminds me of the Truman show and when the distorted backing vocals come at the end that’s the bishops trying to convince you it’s nice here and you should stay for good. Idk that’s what was going through my mind lol
The album is different but it’s been confirmed that a Trench 2/ conclusion to DEMA album is coming soon and as close as next year. There’s no tour for SAI so another album will come out. I think this was just TOP having fun and having so much time in their hands

Bro...I hope your watching this LIVE TØP SHOW...it's freaking amazing. The fact that this damn thing is live is mind blowing 🤯 👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌
28:38 “this is the saddest song on the album so far
me: oh just you wait
I had the same thought! Hahahah Im like "Redecorate is comin!"
Love how this reaction will be here for people for after the show and also for people who couldn't get the ticket. 😄That's Fire!
Wait, there were tickets for the show?
How did I get access to the live stream without buying one?
@@LemonGuy0 wow you're a fortunate one
@@LemonGuy0 yes we think that may have been a glitch
I really think bounce man is about Ned. Which represents his creativity and he had to say goodbye to his creativity so he could make this album for dema.
Welcome to your first TØP complete album review tbh I love how this album sounds
The live show was such a feast for the eyes and ears! They poured their souls, and probably their wallets into that show, such high production value!
The live stream was crazy af. That shit was an emotional roller-coaster and I need an album of the songs that were in it like damn.
Yes. And the transition between the pieces was amazing
Honestly prefer this over when you react to songs individually from new albums
No Chances is the perfect child of Trench and SAI
I think they will surprise us with another album like really soon, i got that feeling
Yes he said so in an interview.
@@testimusicali6445 is there a link to watch that interview please?:)
@@Richieboy8 ive spent the last couple hours trying to find it. Can't find/recall which interview. The apple interview with Zayne he only says that there's "one more album" for dema story and that's the end of dema story. That's all he said. BUT the interview that i can't find/recall, he said the next (and last) dema album will tie things up and explain with an ending. And at that interview he said something about how he hasn't stopped song making he is doing it now. And to expect it sooner than think AND what he doesn't know is about concert when pandemic passes.. he doesn't know if concert would be the 2 albums together. Sorry i can't pinpoint the interview bit if i come across it I'll come back herr and post. (It's driving me crazy that i can't find it so I'll keep searching)
@@testimusicali6445 Oh thanks a lot, that’s really sweet and no worries, that’s more than enough information! Can’t wait for that next album!🤩🤩
i hope so
the way they actually cover bennie and the jets during mulberry live
Hearing you singing along brings me so much happiness!! Your album/song reviews are my absolute favorite!!! 🙌🏼
Also, in bounce man, “bounce” can refer to going up and down emotionally, like the bouncing action
Aight now that the livestream is over I can finally watch this!
That was the coolest thing I have ever seen
Welcome back lol
the devil may work fast, but Ernest works faster. seriously dude, i was expecting this in the next couple days not the same day of the album release! appreciate it though!
So at the end of the album they break out of that and finally show how they are really feeling.
i saw a comment on the ‘Good Day’ video:
Tyler imagined what his reaction would be if he suddenly lost his wife and daughter. He manifests the stage of denial in its fullness by declaring that it’s a good day despite what has tragically occurred in his family, pushing off the contemplation of what life will be like now they’re gone
Oh god that's tragic:/
Yes, and I feel like this sets off the theme for the whole album. It sounds so happy but its a fake happy, a false front put up. Then I think the turning point for the album is Mulberry Street, where he starts facing that it's ok to admit you aren't all ok.
I could see this whole album as working through the process of grief after such a big loss like that. Going from denial to ending in suicidal thoughts (with redecorate.)
Love your content and loved this format as well, I’m glad we got to experience the album with you.
I feel like synthetic highs can mean anything from drugs, social media likes, gambling, sex etc.
@@katstorm13 Yeah, definitely. I feel like it’s a great line, and it’s one of my favorite in the song. Dang it, Tyler is a literal lyrical genious☺️
BRO, HOW GOOD WAS THE LIVESHOW WAAAAAA
It was fire, had chills the whole damn time😭
What we’ve all been waiting for! 🔥
Mulberry street: place in New York, one of the first places tyler went out of state to to meet with a person from their label.
Formidable: probably about his wife, could also be about Josh, or anything else lol
Bounceman: seems to be about Ned
The choir part of No Chances reminds me of Therapy Session
This!! No chances is easily my favourite on this album. I love it so much but would also kill to hear it taken even a step further and for someone to put filthy strings over it like tommy profitt would do.
I think in Bounce Man he was talking about Ned since I believe he mentioned somewhere he left home and didn't respond to messages
I read that formidable is for josh. He says fast forward 13 years. That’s how long they’ve been together. He hopes that josh knows how important he is to him and tøp.
They didn't meet until 2010 though.
Bro can we talk about how he didn't mention that guitar solo in Never Take It. It was amazing
Maybe he read that book to his daughter and got inspired...
mulberry street is a poem by Dr. Seuss that had to do with a kid seeing strange things on his walk to school on mulberry street. Idk if this helps
Letsgooooooo, as the previous TOP reaction, been waiting for this all day.
Can’t explain how excited I am to watch these 40 minutes
That album is a straight vibe
(Haven’t finished the video) I’m so happy you’re finally all caught up man. I’ve loved the journey since the beginning of you discovering TØP and now to have you with us hearing the same music as it comes out is so cool. Love you have you with us man 💛💛
You nailed it, in my opinion. I think their next album will be the darkest one yet.
just realized the outside comes after the two of the lead singles and other people would probably like click out of the song since "i'm already bored i've heard this all before"
idk if that's intentional but
duuuuude you should search the Dema universe Tyler created, to understand the context of the songs and the albums... it will make you appreciate their music even more... idk, for me it has
This man just has a gift of lyrical breakdowns. Plain and simple. The Goat.
Not sure why this album is getting so much hate i admit i didnt like it at first but going to the live made me appreciate the lyrics/sounds way more
It's funny you mentioned thinking of Billy Joel and Elton John when hearing Good Day because Tyler just recently said in an interview that he likes their music a lot!
I definitely felt like he took a song that was _inspired_ by the passing of his friend's child, and worked it into something that could be related to from a very _intimate_ point of view. that double meaning holds so much weight from both sides; "do I tidy up after my loved one, now that they're no longer here to do so?" versus, "do I tidy up before _I leave,_ so that my loved ones don't _have_ to?"
Both come from a very forlorn, despairing place in two different ways, and I think Tyler nailed that feeling in the production of the song, too.
thank you for the reaction man!
Also on wiki, I found that there is a mulberry street in Manhattan New York founded by our boy niko
I wonder if there can be any connection made to that and the fact that the majority of the livestream took place in tyler's head
Literally was watching listening last night and thinking Ernest will have a review up tmrw 👀 but I DIDN'T KNOW HE WOULD THE WHOLE ALBUM 🤤
30:16 "notorious in the octagon" is he talking about mcgregor? haha
Sure is
Dude that Benny and the Jets comment nailed it I was trying to think what does this remind me of and 💥 that’s it! Awesome breakdown
Tyler said on his recent intevriew that Formidable is actually a song for his daughter.
I have to listen to that song again with that in mind because I thought it was about Josh
I thought it was too...didn’t think it was Josh and thought he would have wrote about Rosie on this album.
That's why is the song that hit the hardest for me of Tøp
when can we expect a reaction or just a review the livestream event? it had so much juicy lore i really want to know your thoughts on it. im sure people are dissecting it for every hidden detail rights now, i just wanna see the things that you picked up on and what u were able to tie together. Also lets not forget the fact how A++ the whole performance was and how smooth the production went. they fucking killed this shit
Next. Level. Genius.
Also, Scaled And Icy is definitely short term for scaled back and isolated, but it's also an anagram of Clancy Is Dead, so yeah genius stuff
Notifs on for this reaction, thank you!
the first time reacting to bounce man i freaked out so much in the first 5 seconds because i listen to his brother's (jay joseph) music too and he has a song called jumpman and when i saw bounce man on the tracklist i expected it to be somehow related to his brother's song and his brother literally sings in the song, the starting vocal is his brother
Mulberry Street is by far my surprise fav jam of this album!! Whole song is a vibe!
You were literally me when I first listed to it, couldnt stop the little dances like everyone, so gooooood AHHHHHH
What's with the AHHHHHH
Tyler: having a cute moment with his wife
ThirdErnest: just singing the chorus
Formidable: It's a letter from Tyler to Josh, according to Genius.
This album si FIREEEEE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The History
There were some people arrested, Josh went to get them out, Clancy was captured again and again
The bishops probably killed Clancy and found his secret site, now on the secret site you have the note "Dema's holy land has been violated we have taken appropriate action to stop the leaks of documentation"
*Summary of content*
*on Blurryface the nine main songs invoke the depression god Blurryface, the trench is the album where people try to escape from the city that worships this god and Scaled And Icy is the bishops trying to convince you to stay in the city and die for the god of depression Blurryface*
Lore
Each bishop represents one of the nine songs on the cover of Blurryface for example: Sacaver comes from Tear In My Heart he is the "themed" bishop of love
Neon Gravestones represent the temptation of death
Each tower in Dema is a dungeon/house (house for bishops, torture dungeon for banditos)
They live on the basis of vialism, basically you either obey or you are put to rot in a tower with vultures
Bishops do not see yellow because it is the color that represents mental health
I don't know if it's literal, but Clancy mentioned that he knows how to levitate and spit fire, he's like an air bender
And now there's a dragon too.
Thats it, the whole thing
I watch the show and then i watch your video omg 😭😭
Mulberry street reminds me of the Truman show and when the distorted backing vocals come at the end that’s the bishops trying to convince you it’s nice here and you should stay for good. Idk that’s what was going through my mind lol
The album is different but it’s been confirmed that a Trench 2/ conclusion to DEMA album is coming soon and as close as next year. There’s no tour for SAI so another album will come out. I think this was just TOP having fun and having so much time in their hands
Show is starting, then this🔥
I've watched this album reaction at least 20 times. I'm sure you can look and see. So I came here to beg you to please upload a reaction to the MTV unplugged that twenty one pilots did yesterday.
This album sounds better and better the more you listen to it haha
