Bro, do you think that we've "untaken" all the planets in the 3rd encounter and now they're back in the solar system? That makes sense and would explain how we're going back to Titan in the near future
Your completely failed to mention that if two people pick up the buff at the same time, or while another player has it already, it "deactivates" the DNA plates with the dark orbs, making the orbs disappear for some time. Coordinating the exact time you pick up the Dark/Light buffs is important.
Heya Wizard-man, could you do us the massive favour of checking the prophecy room in Vow of the Disciple, I feel like this would be when I would drop that missing symbol, if I was the Witness/Bungie

Hey bro, I find that you've always had the best raid guides. You explain things well (very concise) and keep it short. As someone who trains and does consulting on a professional level, it's plain to see you do a great job compared to many of your colleagues. Keep it up!

A tip for 3rd encounter, when dps begins his shield will ALWAYS start with whatever color had two planets, then alternate. I.e. if there is two dark and 1 light in the middle his shield will be “dark, light, dark” same thing is true vice versa.
Fallout I can tell you went above an beyond with the video editing this time around. The transitions and music were phenomenal and I really appreciate the hard work you put into this as opposed to just Twitch clips of the encounters. Big thumbs up from me.
Note on encounter 3: you don’t need to see his shield color to know where to stand. He will always start with the majority color and then move to the minority color. For example, if there are two white and one dark, the order will always be white - dark - white
I noticed this also. Still don't understand what the floating nut does. Since the damage phase starts regardless. I'm thinking it could be a total red herring.
@@josephr.2763 It allows you to speed up the encounter and shift planets immediately. Say if one runner dies, after a single pair finishes, you just tag the node and the planets start moving without waiting down the timer.

I don’t think I see any guides mention it, but the reason the beginning field of light buff has to be “leap frogged” is because if two people have it at the same time, it despawns the dark bubbles you are trying to link. We thought it was psion related at first, or maybe when the tormentor was up but yeah it’s just two people being buffed at the same time.
Two people can have the buff at the same time. The issue is that it will be disrupted if you haven't connected another node since the last time someone grabbed the buff.

One thing a lot of people aren’t talking about - the Psions are what spawn the Tormentors. You need to kill them as fast as possible to give yourself enough time to kill the Tormentors. It’s NOT a ‘periodic spawn’ of Tormentors. Also, you can leave a Tormentor alive if the runners are fast enough to clear the debuff, then kill it when the next section starts for a timer extension
Awesome guide! Thank you! Also, my group figured out an easy strategy for the first encounter: First sequence: do NOT kill psions to spawn the tormentor, if you have two runners alternating the sequence, they should easily be able to finish before the timer reaches zero. If you do this, the psions will DESPAWN during the little pause period between sequence 1 and 2. Sequence 2: this one requires three runners. Runner 1 + 2 will alternate rapidly until the runner 1 hits the 3rd node. Then, runner 2 + 3 will get the buff together at the same time. Runner 2 will go to whichever is the 4th node and runner 3 will go to the final node on the little flower at the end of the sequence. Meanwhile, runner 1 goes to the node that is meant to give the buff for the final node. Once runner 2 has shot their 4th node, then runner 1 shoots the buff giving node, then runner 3 will be able to use the buff he got previously to get the node at the end. The rest of the team will wait to kill psions until the 10 second mark of the debuff. This will spawn the tormentor before the runners finish. Do NOT kill the tormentor. Get him weak and "save" his death for sequence 3. As soon as sequence 3's debuff begins, kill the tormentor. This will extend the time for runners while also giving tormentor team extra time to dmg the tormentor during the "in-between" phase. For the 3rd and 4th sequences, have 2 runners alternating like normal and proceed normally, though if the runners are fast enough, you can "save" the next tormentor for the beginning of the 4th sequence. Similar to what you did going from sequence 2 to sequence 3.
for the 1st encounter, you do not actually have to kill the psions if your runners are fast enough, the sweeping terror debuff gets removed for every set of completed roots/orbs. you can also spawn a tormentor and clear the set you are currently on, and then carry that tormentor over to the next set to extend your buff easily without having to kill the psions again. For the 2nd encounter I would highly recommend using an eager edge sword on either warlock or titan and avoiding the gap cross mechanic by using eager skating to cross the gap (except the very last one for next floor)
For 2nd encounter our team had a hunter shatterscating and me wellscating because we found those movement options more consistent than the launchers :)
I love seeing the optimized strategies for an encounter after completing all the encounters with some over-complicated strat that somehow managed to work 😂
NOTE: Make sure your team is on the same page about what the callouts are for the planets on encounter 3, because the ones shown in the video are weird and your team might have a system that makes more sense.
If you are running short on time, you can use a glaive melee in the circles under the bubbles to trigger the bubbles, instead of shooting the bubbles directly.
Thanks for getting this guide out so quickly! Excellent example of professionality (not a word?) It sucks you didn't get world's first, you're awesome and deserve a win.

First sequence: do NOT kill psions to spawn the tormentor, if you have two runners alternating the sequence, they should easily be able to finish before the timer reaches zero.
I was awaiting this one. :)
for the 1st encounter, you do not actually have to kill the psions if your runners are fast enough, the sweeping terror debuff gets removed for every set of completed roots/orbs. you can also spawn a tormentor and clear the set you are currently on, and then carry that tormentor over to the next set to extend your buff easily without having to kill the psions again.
For the 2nd encounter I would highly recommend using an eager edge sword on either warlock or titan and avoiding the gap cross mechanic by using eager skating to cross the gap (except the very last one for next floor)

this guide was clear and concise fallout, thank you!
Good use of music for this! 👍
2nd encounter was my favorite, despite the bugged barrier champs. Repulsor eager edge was my best friend for ad clear on floor 2+💜
The wrath of the machine of D2 imo
Short, sweet and mostly straightfoward headacheless mechanics
You’re the goat fallout. Much appreciated.
NOTE: Make sure your team is on the same page about what the callouts are for the planets on encounter 3, because the ones shown in the video are weird and your team might have a system that makes more sense.
Right, when those numbers came up, wtf.
@@TheCubby1985 It's the VoG number call outs all over again. There's definitely an easier system out there
If you are running short on time, you can use a glaive melee in the circles under the bubbles to trigger the bubbles, instead of shooting the bubbles directly.
Hell yeah, been waiting for this
Why do the nodes in the 2nd encounter keep powering down?
You and my 4 random LFG groups got me the emblem. GG.
i haven’t done the raid yet so u made this look so simple
ive never done root of nightmares before and after this,i am gonna try it with the fireteam finder thing and imma tell yall how it goes
Thanks for getting this guide out so quickly! Excellent example of professionality (not a word?)
It sucks you didn't get world's first, you're awesome and deserve a win.
Best guide i've sat through. It's amazing how many of these guides drop that leave out half the detail of each mechanic.
His wipe mechanic is called "Overwhelming Light"? The Traveler is really stepping out on us.
