How FIVE Contestants Got Voted Out With Idols In Survivor 46

- The Tribe has Spoken…An infamous phrase uttered by the words of host Jeff Probst as he snuffs one's torch eliminating them from the game with a million dollar cash prize. It’s understandably a heartbreaking situation with most people becoming very understandably emotional but for a rare few they could have prevented it. The Hidden Immunity idol can block all votes at a tribal council allowing a contestant essentially a free bypass for a round of gameplay they would have likely been eliminated in. Now people are very rarely eliminated while in possession of a hidden immunity idol as if you feel you’re in danger you’re obviously going to play it. In most seasons you’d be lucky to see one person voted out with an idol in their pocket. Island of the Idols for the longest time took the crown with three players being eliminated with idols in their pockets: Vince, Chelsea and then Kellee who actually had two in her possession at the time of her blindside. Considering Island of the Idols forced Hidden Immunity Idols down contestants' throats as well as the modern era containing comparatively less idols it was assumed this record would never be broken. Enter Survivor 46 considered by many to be the quote on quote modern day Survivor Gabon due to its sheer insanity. This has been evidenced by FIVE of the twelve voted out contestants being eliminated with an idol in their pocket. An insane stat and one that will probably never be broken.

Jess was the only one to play her fake idol and basically cursed everyone after that lol
The one thing Jess did besides dropping all the puzzle pieces. Jelensky could have easily carried 3-4 blocks
I find it a bit ironic that Hunter, Tiffany, and Venus all believed Q was the legitimate target, meanwhile Q went on to fully believe he was the decoy target and lost the 5th idol of the seasons
lowkey its just ridiculously bizarre the number of ppl voted out this season back to back to back with an idol tho man if only q played his idol for himself last tribal & blindsided charlie, like legit that would be the biggest blindside of the season bro
Imagine another person gets voted out with an idol at final 5 because they want a Maryanne moment of being able to show off an idol to the jury at FTC
Charlie said in an interview on RHAP that convincing Tiff to not play the idol was the actual plan to get her out. He was not going after Maria at that time, he just told Tiff that so she didn't play her idol.
Poor Hunter he was so close :(
I think his was the worst one out of all of them.
He was the furthest from the end out of the past 4 in a row
Hunter's move made sense though. Extremely risky but it made sense. Tiffany was on the heat with Q and he did the numbers. Had she listened to her emotions, he'd survive with still his idol in his pocket. Basically, he'd be a genius had he pulled it off.
Tiff's was worse since she knows what happened to Hunter. She should have learned to play her idol already.

If we’re gonna split hairs, Randen never actually took possession of the idol. He found the clue and only the clue.
Tevin also had an advantage when he got voted out
The non-idol plays got worse as the season went on
Jem was fully blindsided and thought she had a 5 vote alliance and kept her idol the most hidden
Meanwhile Hunter tried to outsmart the split vote, only to be foiled by a risky play by the majority where had Q, Liz, and Hunter all voted together with Hunter’s idol being played would have sent a member of the majority home.
Tiffany didn’t even know who the backup target was, meanwhile Venus is giggling to Charlie about having “something” and at tribal Charlie won’t even look her in the eye when Jeff asks for idols.
Then there’s Q who got so snowed by being the decoy target for 3 rounds only to outright ignore Charlie targeting him
Jem was the only one who 100% made the correct non-play. After that, Venus is the only iffy situation, as she more failed by being too vague, leading to everyone being suspicious. There was no reason for Hunter, Tiffany, and Q to hold onto their idols other than greed, as you’re heavily incentivized to.
To add a bit more detail to the Hunter boot for those who haven't seen the RHAP video, Hunter believed that it would be a 3-3 vote split between him and Q (Venus, Kenzie, and Tiff on Q and Maria, Charlie, and Ben on him), and so he told Liz at tribal to change her and his votes from Ben (the target they agreed upon with Q) to Q to try to cause a 5-3-1 vote without him needing to use his idol. Unfortunately, Tiff voted for Hunter, making it a 4-4-1 vote, where Hunter was voted out on the revote.
Hunter's blindside was absolutely the best one because people realized Hunter didn't play his idol and then it was a tie so they took advantage of him being vulnerable on the revote!
I completely forgot that Randen was also "eliminated" with an idol!
