Thanks! One nice thing about video- besides being possible in a time of isolation- is that you see the words pop up and can see how they're spelled. I have lots of seminar notes filled with scribbled guesses at what a word might be.
Thanks much! Not sure which group you mean, but a few things that might help: (1) subscribe here and hit the notification bell to catch new new vids, (2) I have a Facebook group called Arnis Exploration that you might find interesting, and (3) I teach weekly in the park in Northern Virginia, Kings Park Park basketball court area, 8717 Trafalgar Ct, Springfield, VA 22151, or 38.807790, -77.248163 (close to the intersection of Braddock, Burke Lake, and Rolling Roads). There's also the World Modern Arnis Alliance (WMAA) you can join at wmarnis.com. Thanks and hope this helps.
Glad to help with what I can - I don't have online courses, but I will keep posting material for free here on RUclips. And you can always ask a question or for clarification any time.
Sorry to say, watching him breath already looks and feel awkward. Looking at the hip and stature, not even born for it. Giving your ways, your teaching is your own expression and its very good. At this age, don't you people even feel shy calling it modern? I may be wrong, but calling it modern is sad, because, isn't that stealing? Through thousand and thousands of practitioners in time, secretly passing to generations all unique in their own individual body built and mind set, how would one know his is modern?
You may not know this, but the style name was chosen by my teacher Professor GM Remy A. Presas, the "Father of Modern Arnis." He coined the name because of the way it's taught, the focus on self-defense, and the allowance for stick-vs-stick contact versus the older stick-on-flesh training. Professor asked that I and many others continue teaching it and helping to spread it, and so I do that out of respect and love for him and his art. Thanks for your interest, and I hope this helps. Cheers!
