This is so awesome to hear! I am so grateful this video was helpful! My mom was also a single mom and one memory I have of her is when we were younger she had our refrigerator out in the middle of the kitchen and she was fixing it so it means a lot to me that I was able to help you repair this for your family! Having your kids see you do this work yourself will mean a lot to them as well! Way to go!

Thank you very much for this video! I just fixed my dryer, and it only cost me $1.61 and less than 10 minutes to repair! (That part was way cheaper than the $9 you originally said.) I recently had it serviced, at over $300 for a new belt and motor issues, then it just stopped a few weeks later. Yes, the belt and motor were the issue then, but I guess this time it was that thermal fuse. Now, I am not a "handyman" by any means, but you made this fix seem really easy to attempt, which it was. Thank you for that! I realize that this video is over a year old, but as you can see, it is still usable. Again, many thanks!

I can't thank you enough for for this video. Our dryer died on Sunday night. OMG. Insert freak out here. My husband works fifty billion hours a week. We have three kids. Four dogs. And a working hobby farm. I was hanging out clothes on the clothesline in 30 degree weather. 😑 There was much PG cursing... Then I found your vid... I followed your directions and was actually able to fix our dryer all by myself (thermal fuse replacement). I can do lots of things but appliance repair is def not on that list and I can't tell you how long it would've taken the hubster to get to it. You have saved the day. 🙏🙏

You were right on about what was wrong with my old Kenmore dryer - the thermal fuse had blown, replacing it cost me all of $12 at a local appliance parts store and just an hour of my time, which was important because it stopped working the day before several generations of my family were showing up for Mother's Day, with some staying over which meant lots more laundry than usual. Carry on [fill in the blank]! still my favorite British comedy series that began just about the time that these washers and dryers were first being made for Sears-Roebuck.

Wish you would've elaborated the potential cause of the failed thermal fuse. In most of these issues the exhaust pipe/tubing probably had a partial blockage or may be too long. Unless the cause was fully rectified you'll need to replace the fuse again in another year or two.

I watched your video and was thrilled....i went though all the tests and everything was working. I figured it was junk.
To my amazement my wife called me several hours later and said "did you check the belt?" I said no and if the belt was broken it would start and just not spin. At least that is what I thought. She checked and found the broken belt. When I came home I pulled it apart and found that when the belt breaks the idler pulley retreats and shuts off a kill switch. How can you not say check the belt first in your video. It might not be a top three, which the parts vendor said it is number two with problems. Please update you video or place a notice so that us ignorant repair (myself, not my wife) have a better understanding. I do appreciate your time and efforts. Thank you

I agree with J Hawkins. You got right to the point. My issue was the door switch. I didn't even know I had one. I figured there must be one but could never see it. Thanks for going over these 3 items so quickly and thoroughly.

Thank you very much! That was the reason the dryer will not start. You helped me saved my mother about $100 something dollars. It was my dumb brain that I thought it didn't work because it wasn't connected. LOL!
