Kesler and Bieksa got ready before a game by taking full blown clappers at each other.

Kesler burrows and bieksa. Those 3 guys were the heart and soul of vancouver for many years. Of course the sedins were the most talented guys but kesler burrows and bieksa were awesome together. They used to get under every opponents skin

So true. The compete level of those three guys really drove that team for many years. The Sedins and Luongo always got way too much media attention for my liking. Sure, they deserved a good bit of it, but these guys were the heart and soul of the team. Even Henrik has said that Bieksa was a great leader for the Canucks. And most fans of that era that actually watched the games know how integral those three were to what still is the best Canuck team ever. And I don't say that lightly, the 94 team was also quite great. But none were better than the 2009-2011 Canucks.

@@jh2245 ya the difference between the 94 team and the 2011 team is that the 94 team were huge underdogs. Almost had no business going to the finals.
In 2011 they were the best team in the league. They just happened to play the absolute worst matchup they could have. If tampa bay beat boston in game 7 and played the canucks instead, i have no doubt the canucks would have beaten tampa in 6 games

@@jh2245 dont act like anything i said was wrong. Were you even alive in 94? The flames were a higher seed than the canucks. So was dallas, toronto and the rangers.
The canucks in 94 were an underdog team.
And yes in 2011 the canucks were on paper the best in the league. Instead of dogging me how about you actually give a reason whu you disagree

@@porkwop9171 Everything you said in that pervious post is wrong, period. I was watching when the Canucks got swept in the final by the Islanders in 82, never mind the 7 games with the Rangers 12 years later. True, the Nucks were huge dogs against the Rangers, and in fact they just snuck into the playoffs that year as the 7th seed. However they had also just come off a couple of division championships that team, and they were revamping a big part of the team after the whole Nedved fiasco and other distractions. Quinn made some excellent trades at the deadline that year and even though they were officially underdogs in every playoff series in 94. At the time, every real Canuck follower knew they had the potential to beat basically any team coming off the previous few years successes. Don't think that they weren't a great team. They definitely were an extremely good team, and everyone who knew hockey much at all knew that at the time. Even look at them two years later in 96. They actually gave the eventual Cup winning Avalanche by far the greatest test in their whole Cup run, losing to them in overtime in the 6th game in the 1st round. The Lanche then just rolled to the Cup quite easily from there. Only the Canucks even gave them much of a series that year. The early and mid 90's Canuck teams for the most part were quite good, and some years, especially after the deadline in 94, they were really a great team.
I won't even get into how wrong you are about 2011, because you're even way more out to lunch on that one. I just won more money in hockey TONIGHT, than you have in your entire life. I guarantee it. My advice to you is to stay far away from gambling on hockey, since you know very little about it. But hey, at least you recognize the contribution of Kes, Burr and Bieksa to that era's great teams. That's something at least.
