Kesler is definitely the most underappreciated Canuck in history by far, considering all the blood and full out play he gave to the team. The guy was crazy. I remember early on in his career my brother said that someone was going to hit him and end his career before long, because he played seemingly without fear. Skating full on into the zone and through the middle and such. He wasn't a fighter, but he skated full on almost 100% of the time and was full on effort basically 100% of the time. I've only seen a few guys in my entire life play with as much disregard for his own safety than Kesler did. But his play was all for the team. He's also one of the most hated players of his era by far from opponents, as he would do nearly anything to gain an advantage. He was a beauty!
Truthfully, Luongo, and even the Sedins got/get too much credit for those great Canuck years; When in all seriousness, Burrows, Bieksa and Kesler were also such fundamental parts, and a big part of the driving force behind their success. Without those 3 muckers and leaders, they were nowhere near as good.

Well put. Regarding Bieksa's story, it's more likely that Kesler would stop limping to the ice because he was hiding his injuries to the public eye. Over the years Kesler took a beating to play the way he did. Players cross-checking him in the head, stepping on his legs. Anyone not a Canuck fan hated him. Also probably more from his views off-ice these days, he's def still an under appreciated long-time Canuck.

Canucks would have not been a contender without him. His performance against predators was greatest series by a player in nux uniform. I can’t remember another who had such a dominating series.

lol I'm like Kesler. If you're making fun of me and its too much or a low-blow....I'm like, screw this guy... I don't want to talk.... because if I say something, then it turns into something worse and I don't have the energy for that.

Hockey player stories are the best. I've been watching some basketball lately, and they say being heterosexual isnt a choice, but i choose hockey.

Hey Kevin who would fight for Kessler when you to engaged ? He would always turtle or hide behind someone. Couldn't stand the guy.

I really like Jason York and Marc Methot for their insights but Bieska turns my stomach. He is a show-off with a big mouth who likes to bully others.
