    If this was a 1+1 year contract, I would agree with Yorkie and see what he's got...but a 4 year deal for a coach with a losing track record with no real success? Its DJ 2.0 contract. 4 years!! We dont even know if hes even a fit and hes signed on for 4 years!!

    Brent & Yorkie As a Sens fan I'm really shaking my head on the Travis Green hire. I'm willing to see if he's the man for this job? But, he doesn't have a very good winning record as a NHL coach. I really thought Andlauer wanted a french speaking coach with a winning record? And, thought Claude Julien should've been on the top of the list for Ott./Gat. with a record of 1274 game 667 wins 445 loses and one Stanley cup. Wwwaaaaazzzzzzzuuuppp with that? Good luck Travis I hope you can turn this team into a winner SENS fans really need. Rick Go Sens Go !

    I’m feeling much better about him. I actually found myself feeling massively sorry for him, has to hurt getting slammed like that before you even come to the city. Let’s hope they bring in some solid assistants, Todd Rierden would be solid. Bottom line is the players want to win, and so does Green, he is going to prove everyone wrong.

    I was very disappointed with the choice. Felt it was a lateral move from DJ. Berube would have been nice but a coach with Stanley cups was not a requirement for me. Personally Dean Evason was my choice. But for what ever reason that didn't happen. I am over it and we will see how Green does. I will say this, IMO, Staios has put a bigger target on himself with the Green hiring. So if Green fails, Staios has to pay the price for failure. We expect that from Andlauer.

  • @joeimbesi5361
    @joeimbesi5361 15 часов назад

    Wally, you can’t lump the Tarasenko NTC and trade into a mis-step. Their hands were tied….again. And, Staios said they were active at the deadline but couldn’t get something done. What’s to say that won’t happen again over the summer? It takes two to tango. Let’s hope a free agent or two decides to sign here and a deal or two to improve the team happens.

      Nah, I would have got more than a 5th or I'm not moving him at all. We need to stop being nice, it doesn't attract players, we are still last on the list of every single player simply because of our location taxes and history of terrible ownership (most hockey players probably still think Ottawa is a tire fire and don't even know the team was sold)

    Sens are making me become bipolar! 😂 I don’t know Green, hopefully it’s a good hire. But I feel like this was the 1st time management could show the fans they will put their stamp of changes on this team, and they chose a coach with a losing record. I was disappointed when I heard the news, as we’ve all been disappointed with the last 7 years. After hearing him talk, he talks good and all, so a little more hopeful. But will we see the results on the ice? We’ll see next November if we’re already out of the playoffs race!

      If you can’t get an “NHL” coach that’s had success go get an AHL coach that’s had lots of success. Guys like Todd Nelson, Karl Taylor or even Dan Bylsma (who’s had some success in both NHL and AHL). You could reunite Derek Laxdal & Karl Taylor. I'm just now noticing that for those first three years, the team's record improved year over year each time. I feel like the coach is less important than the player makeup on the team. A better right hand side D to complement the top 2 guys on the left hand side (not even sure it matters if they keep Chych or Chabot, just need to use that cap money on a good RHD), another experienced top 6 winger and maybe someone to take Forzy's spot.

    I don't know who this guy is but what a terrible take. He names cassidy and de boer who have taken teams to the finals and had success. "why did they keep getting jobs?" versus green who made the playoffs once. Quenville is out there and once a team decides they want to win instead of virtue signal, he'll get hired and that team will have success.

    • @actor_jim
      @actor_jim 21 час назад

      For years, though, every time Ottawa had a coaching search (which was frequently for a while) DeBoer's name was always near the top of the list, and people would always say "We don't want him, he's not had much success." Well, now he is having success. It happens that way sometime. People talked about the Tocchet hire in Vancouver the way they've been talking about the Green hire. That seems to be working out for Vancouver. I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen that way for Green, I'm just saying that's the way it goes sometimes. Also worth looking at in Vancouver, the worst year that got him fired was that 20-21 year, which was the return from Covid, which was just kind of a strange year for everything. I don't know how what Vancouver's season that year looked like, but teams were frequently playing down 5, 6, 7 regulars at a time. Training camps were weird (and Green comes advertised as a big Training Camp guy). Everything was messed up that season. If you look at the other 3 years, his record improved every year over the last. I feel like I'm making a million excuses, which is not my intent. I'm skeptical of the hire myself. I just think there might be more going on than a cursory look at the stats can show.

      @TheTetsuHai 20 часов назад

      Korpisalo and Forsberg regularly let in goals from the blueline on muffin shots, we had 20 games this season where the opponents scored on the first 5 shots, it didn't matter how good the shots were.

  • @wesgreig271
    @wesgreig271 22 часа назад

    My biggest problem isn't the person, but the timing. They waited all season, why not wait another couple weeks and see which coaches are fired after round 1. It's not like Green was one of the big names so I'm guessing demand for him was comparatively low, he would probably still be available in a few weeks so Staios, in theory, had the leverage in that respect. You had the patience to wait all year but not the patience to wait an extra couple of weeks?

  • @user-md3ij9oc9q
