Scania's V8 growl is distinctive even on a cellphone speaker, without headphones or any sound modification.
It's the sound which means business.

It's a distinctive sound for sure, very different from our trucks over here in the States. Not sure how much of that is because V8 vs. I6, or because the exhausts in Europe are down low instead of being stacks like the majority are here. Regardless, it's an awesome sound, a smooth purr that still means serious business.

I live in Thailand and we don't see many Scania trucks here but we do see Scania motor-coaches. They are quite powerful and are often seen passing autos on the big mountain west of Chiang Mai.

Nice trucks I have never understood European trucks lay out being American I like the hood's on our trucks. And I have always had twin screws drive axles. These are seriously decked out and again very nice looking.

As a driver who was unfortunate enough to drive a V8 for a few days for a friend I can tell you that sound gets really really annoying after about 30 minutes, 9 hours into a 13 hour shift you just want to get out and set fire to the truck. Why the wheel polishers are so obsessed with this bullshit beyond me, the rest of us just want to do a shift and go home.

Why some trucks lift their tyre not full touching the ground?
The ones I see in the video are called Mid Lifts. When you don't have a trailer or pulling something light, you don't need to use them. I believe it'll help save a little fuel and tire wear.
swhite209 is completely right. But the main reason is the turning radius is gettin a lot smaller so u can steer a lot better threw tight corners

If they wanted to show off the music from the pipes, why didn't they start at the beginning of the tunnel. The reverb would have been excellent.
I used to run out of LA and when returning to LA down HWY 14, I loved to hit the Jake in the tunnel. My Pete has a sliding glass window on the rear of the sleeper and opening that before entering the tunnel enhanced the effect.
