I was going to say that aircraft gameplay looks just like War Thunder. Then I looked at the developer. When and why did you quit? I got tired of grinding at tier 3 and left half a year after they added tanks. Did the game become worse?
@@PastTimer I started playing right around end of 2017 start of 2018, stopped around late 2019 when I got into World Of Warships. I got to tier 4 planes and tier 5 tanks with the americans and i was just about at tier 4 tanks with the germans. In my opinion the game has gotten worse and worse every year I've played. The economy is even more broken than when I started playing and from what I gather from other players TopTier is impossible as the BRs are 0.7 from a normal M1 Abrams with the 105mm gun to the M1A2 with the 120mm and extra armour. There are also vehicle upgrades that Gaijin added that are basically required like NVGs and Thermal imaging which are tier 4 upgrades so you almost need to play eagles for them. The servers are also struggling to keep up since more and more people are getting ghost shells and random server lag. Personally I never had a single ghost shell before 2020 on my crappy 150ping connection, now its expected every match. Only real upsides are that the game is now on Dagor Engine 6.0 which has some cool particle effects at the cost of not being nearly as stable as Dagor Engine 5.0 and requiring a noticeable amount more computing power to run as well as before. And they actually kind of balanced some of the old Super Stronk Russian Bias™ and Kraut space magic stuff, at least at lower tiers. Also since you left there was the PenPocalypse where Gaijin went from using historical data for shell penetration to a formula which leveled out some of the imbalances between the nation's shells but also weirdly made APHE have more penetration than solid AP in 99% of shells. Not to mention they got to add more premium paper tanks for more money. I dont really play much aircraft so I cant really talk about anything there other than rockets are dead, bombs are nerfed and they are adding 5.7 CAS like they have a deadline to meet. Also the naval game mode is inferior to World Of Warships in almost every conceivable way except realism which WoWs wasn't really going for anyway. Sorry for the wall of text, TLDR is game is worse mostly but there are some better things.
Gotta say, this is a very good game. There's been very few points where I wasn't having fun. Very atmospheric as well - whether crawiling under a burning tank stuck in a trench, or charging a castle with your guys screaming at the top of their lungs, it's epic.
So I tried the game and it turns out I'm really shit at it. But I did manage to do something that felt pretty cool. It was D-Day, and we were storming the beaches of Normandy. There were some German tanks overlooking the shortest path to the capture point, and I was adamant to take them down. I rolled up with my little Sherman, and as I crested a hill I found myself face-to-face with a panzer. I fired. The shot plinked off its frontal armour. It fired. The rest of my tankers died immediately, and I frantically pulled myself out of the tank's wreckage before it blew. I dove into a small puddle in the ground, and the tank rolled away, probably assuming I was dead. I lay there for a while, stuck in the mud with just a tiny pistol, machine gun fire whizzing overhead, thinking of what to do. There was an enemy bunker right ahead of me, but I figured it'd be safer to hide up against their walls than to run away and get shot in the back. So I pulled myself out of one puddle and sprinted forward to the next, and as I ran I noticed a Pak sitting just to the side of the bunker. In that moment, I made my plan. I jumped out of the second puddle, running straight for the artillery piece. I got to it, and as I turned around, I saw the tank that had destroyed mine. I aimed, fired, and hit the bastard in the side, destroying it. I moved away from the Pak, putting my back against the nearby bunker wall, and watched for the enemy tankers trying to escape. Two of them escaped the wreck, and I desperately fired my colt at them. I managed to kill one, but the other finished me off. So yeah it's a pretty fun game
I've been seeing the ads for this game and have actually considered it. So glad you played it so I know that it's something I would definitely be into.
I dunno. That joke is overused, and feels quite annoying. There's nothing illegal with dropping napalm to burn alive hundreds of enemy combatants. Mowing a dozen of them down with an MG is even moreso a legitimate war tactic.
im having fun with enlisted, its all the fun of warthunder and heroes&generals, without the worse parts of either. solid game, cant wait for more compaigns/equipment
Reasons why this game is so good. 1. There is no difference in the amount of damage that a tier 1 soldier and a max tier soldier that has the same gun. Basically same gun = same damage no matter how high tiered the soldier is. 2. There is also not that much difference in health between a tier 1 soldier and max tier soldier. Every single soldier no matter how high tiered they are, will end up going down with 1 shot no matter what. 3. The AI was designed to be bad because if the AI was too good. Then Enlisted wouldnt be enlisted. It would be Hell Let Loose at that point. If you replace this game's AI with Chess AI. Oh this would be Hell Let Loose 2.0. You as a soldier killing many soldiers with your bolt action rifle is what makes Enlisted, Enlisted.
To anyone watching this now and are thinking of playing this game, it's still in beta and not much has changed apart from adding loads of campaigns which separate the community and you have to grind each individual campaign with the same resources available. so it's practically impossible to kit out your squads unless you pick one side of a campaign and only play that, even then you will struggle. The AI is terrible only really good to act as targets, they will get in your way and often will not even be facing the enemy when you swap to them. you're better off telling them to sit in a shed somewhere close by and act as a respawn point. The desync is pretty bad encouraging strafe peeking and other cheesy tactics. you can upgrade weapons making them a lot better but as stated before the currency is hard to get so only people who have paid money can actually upgrade more then 1 weapon per squad if that. the games tend to end one sidedly, after playing for 100s of hours i've had 1 game that was close recently as the player base is split across so many campaigns there are only 3-4 actual players in any lobby and the rest are ai squads. Also the later maps are pretty terribly designed with either annoying features like a gorge running parallel down the middle of the map with a couple of rope bridges connecting them so you spent most of the game crossing the gorge back and forth, or one side having a large advantage. All in all i'd say it's a pretty bad game and some scummy practices with little progression since release other then more things to spend money on and still calling themselves a beta despite all the cash grabbing and 2 years of development. But if your after some dumb fun and don't care too much then it can be good fun mowing down 100s of ai as they charge brain dead into your sights. 3/10 mostly for their scummy behaviour.

it's pretty grindy but unlike warthunder it's somewhat reasonable and there's never a point where you're not having fun, so it's bearable.
