You guys are missing the point... this phone is made for the people who like the simple phones from the past, but it comes with some features from these days (like the 4G and the camera). It's targeted to them. Because there's people who dont like smartphones (they think they are too complicated for them). That's why this NOKIA is great for them - basic phone with basic camera, 4G (so you can check the forecast for example) and some google apps that can get you into the present days, so you can learn how to browse the internet, how to watch videos on youtube and so on. That's the target group of people for this phone. EDIT: Also you CANT expect to have even average camera! The audio is made just to be loud so you can hear when someone calls you. Basically its for old people who dont like new tech, but want a simple cell phone.... Even the 4G is a lot :D
I don't think this phone is for seniors. Smartphones can be of use to seniors. This phone requires fast typing, it has small keys and the browsing is veteran stuff. There are some people who are fed up with smartphones. It seems phones like this are designed for them.
I disagree. For this use, there are phones that costs 20 bucks. There’s no reason to have 4g and wifi without a messaging app like whatsapp. I don’t care about facebook etc, but come on. i want 3 things. A browser, a mail client and a messaging app. I don’t care about camera and speakers.
Fewer social media apps means less time staring at the screen like a zombie and more time paying attention to the world around you. Plus having a "unique" phone is a conversation starter... So you can talk to more real people instead of trolls on Twitter.
I just bought this. I was really inclined to get the yellow but just couldn't bring myself to it,plus the black looks pretty slick. I get it Tuesday, I will make a video :)
Look fellas. Cool phone if you truly want just the basic functions. Due to the lack of technology I couldn't make a video (jk) I realized I wasnt ready to give up the perks of a smart device but more or less have limited myself . I returned the device not only for these reasons but also because the provider I would have to switch to in order to use this phone would cost me the same amount as I'm currently paying for my smart phone and the service would not work well in my area. Sorry for the lack of video but that is my review. Thanks :)
I've got one, have using it on daily basis, left my smartphone home. And love it. I can read mail, take phone calls, send and receive texts. That's essentially what I need while I'm at work and out. It is liberating.

I also use it as my FM Radio as my iPhone doesn’t have one. So far I love it much more than any of the secondary phones I’ve gotten.
It's amazing how a tech review can miss the point so badly. This isn't a smartphone, wasn't trying to be, and it is cheap. Expecting iPhone build quality and support is outlandish and off base. Everything that was discussed as a negative about this phone in this review is, in reality, the positives.
Are there other 4G feature phones to choose from? 4G effects the quality of the voice call, so I need it, but I'm looking for a simple talk/text option. The fact that this has Google Assistant is awesome.
Dude , the phone is awesome!!! Its actually a feature phone not a smart phone. For the generation who grew up with this kind of cell phones and not a smart one , if you have a life and you don't care about the social media bullshits or internet (because for sure you have internet at home) then this phone is the ideal. However , when you are not home it means that you have to do something and there is not any reason to have a portable computer with you. If you really need to be connected on internet 24h then this phone is not for you. If your profession ends when you leave your jobs area then you are gonna love this phone. Calls , messages , radio , snake and nothing more...Just enjoy the simplicity !!!
This phone enables some of the best most emersive apps available such as family life, socializing with genuine human beings and not having a phone 10 inches from your face every waking second. This review is ligit pathetic
The fourth day to use this new phone. The unusual good-looking bright yellow colour actually balanced out the dullness of a small non-touch screened feature phone. The sliding cover added a sense of delicacy to the phone even though the phone is made by polycarbonate. Glad to have google supporting the phone, we get google assistance, google search, google map and google contact sync. These guarantee one can survive in the city in this modern day. The number pad also became more solid, more independent, and more certain when using it longer and more. But I hope the phone can provide side volume adjustment keys, perhaps a better quality screen, and more personalization options for the homescreen shortcut keys, and homescreen display. Also, the screen and its peripheral is covered by a plastic-looking glass, I wonder if it can look more solid and strong. Nowadays, its hard to get and use a good feature phone with good support of internet and google service, as a good touch-screen android phone can be cost for only $110. And people usually feel strange and uncomfortable when they see people still carry a feature phone around. This phone has provided an opportunity for us, the minority, to live a different lifestyle defying a strong societal norm.
I’m looking for a dumb-phone to replace many years of iPhones. The thing is, that I want to be able to write text messages without the old style three-letters-and-a-number-per-button thing. No need for colour screen, games, apps or a camera, just a very easy to use device for calls and messages and a decent keypad. Any suggestions?
thanks brother for making this video...here is my experience with this phone I purchased Nokia 8110 4g but it's network connectivity is very poor and it's hotspot connectivity disappointing.. sometimes connected sometimes Disconnected automatically..I got fed-up with this phone because of Hotspot and network issue..plz check all before buying friends..time is urs money is urs... thik twice before ... good luck.
I just want to know if the reception is good. The 3310 I bought was terrible for receiving calls and I had to return to a smart phone, when all I want is to make calls and text..
I like the concept of a phone like this, and I think reviving classic designs is definitely a great idea for Nokia to set themselves apart from other phone manufacturers. However, I think I'd want a little bit more out of this phone. Maybe there isn't a huge market for this, but I think I'd really love something between a feature phone and a smartphone. Take this phone and give it better build quality, a bit faster processor, a little bit more storage (or just let me use a 64GB or 128GB SD card), and price it at $199. The BLU Vivo Air was a pretty darn good phone that sold for $199 and that was a full-blown Android smartphone, so it should be doable. I don't need (or even really want) full-blown Android, just the smartphone basics (like RUclips, navigation, web browsing, etc). If they could offer that and address all of those issues mentioned in the video (nicer feel, nicer screen, better durability, smoother slider, no lag between apps), then I'd gladly pay a small premium for a high-end feature phone that is unique and functional. Durability in particular is an absolute necessity, especially since that was a hallmark of those old Nokia models. They just last so much better than modern phones, I don't understand why this phone can't bring that quality back.
does this phone has conversation view in the messages, that you have an overview of all the texts from one person and don't need to open every seperate message? thanks!
Aw, I miss having Nokias. The 8800 was my last, and favorite. Wish they would remake it, but with modern components and applications. Stainless steel. Ugh, I miss it.
Bruh... You got ripped off, I got it for 3,299. I also saw, I guess, the non 4g version, which is 2999 or less depending on which seller you get it from.
Every summer I go for a camping for a week or two - no electricity or anything, just nature... And now I am looking and these feature phones only because they have amazing battery. All I need for this phone to be able to is to do calls and to have whatsapp to have a communication with the rest and of course a great battery since it needs to stay alive for a week or two on one charging. Currently have OnePlus 6T which dies within a day or two, and I dont want to be left without any possible communication when camping so this phone (or phone similar to this one) would be perfect for me.
Revisited new thoughts from me... I'm considering this as my lifestyle has changed drastically... If I'm away from home, I'm either working, driving or shopping... That's it! No time for socials or watching anything! I need a phone to make calls and send/recieve texts, The End! I'm surrounded in my smart home with ALL the crap from the 21st century (4 iPads, smart tv, lights, speakers and gaming), and I love it! Kidz today, have a phone bigger than my fist TV lol!!! I own the original Matrix Nokia, and I love this idea 5 years down-the-line!!!
I've been using a Samsung GT - C3520 for 6 years (flip phone with limited internet capabilities, sd card slot, headphone jack) and other than calls and messages, I've been playing music on it. Just today I saw this phone and I think it woulld be a good update since my old one's turning off randomly. I have used a smartphone but I like having a basic phone just for calls, sms and music. Good review but yeah, "smart phone perspective".
I've recommended this to people that want a non-smartphone with modern connectivity. Plus, it's under $100. The sound did seem too bad, and the picture looked pretty good.
@@AB-td5oo I am as well. I don't get why a lot of the comments I read about the phone talk about it being much worse than a smartphone, because it is not! I'm thinking about getting one as a back-up phone, and might even consider getting a second line (a prepaid one) and keep both phones.
Bought this phone couple of months ago. Still waiting for the Whatsapp app they promised. Also, the "app store" is about 5 apps and some games. Haven't seen anything new in there for months.
I think the review totally misses the point of the "dumb phone". Some people just want a functional, practical way of disconnecting from smart phone addiction. I assume (although I'm not sure this is true) that this is why there is a rise in popularity on these Nokia phones. There is a minimalist market.
Don't get it, reviewer says no social media apps but Twitter - but the box has the Facebook logo (check out the unboxing sequence), and other comments on here indicate it's got WhatsApp...This review was published today so they're talking about up to date firmware. So is SM selection determined by region, or what?
gorpalm1 WhatsApp support is yet to be announced, but it's coming in short future. For Facebook, I think that is supported. For future updates you should check Nokia Mobile Twitter page or Support page.
The storage could be somewhat bigger, the camera is alright as a picture notebook but a better one would not cost much more, and there should be a decent messenger app. Otherwise, I have not much to complain on the technical side. It should (almost) meet the intended market, with a little room for improvement. But the build quality? A slide cover operating by simple plastic friction, a soft and scratchy screen, that's not necessary. Because we don't need a 6 inch display does not mean we only need a turd.
So a feature phone is not a smartphone? Missing the point much? Thanks for the quality review though. The lid really seems bad and makes me reconsider.

Aw, I miss having Nokias. The 8800 was my last, and favorite. Wish they would remake it, but with modern components and applications. Stainless steel. Ugh, I miss it.
Sir please reply me is 1MB action Games support in this phone like sony Ericsson k800i
I had the 8110 first time around -- all the features you complain about would have been cutting edge in the 1990s
Expectation must match the price. For a phone that cheap level of expectation should not set too high.
Can this phone be used as a mobile hotspot?
Will it be a review of xiaomi mi a2 lite?
I purchased this cellphone 📱 today and it is awesome... Classic phone in just 10k rupees.. 13 March 2019
What??!!! Its cost is RS 2999. Go and check the price at Nokia.com
Bruh... You got ripped off, I got it for 3,299. I also saw, I guess, the non 4g version, which is 2999 or less depending on which seller you get it from.
@@0themanticore0 it's the 4g version. I bought it from the Nokia online store of India.
@@astronautonmars Exactly. Not sure how he paid 10k for it.
can you use hotspot on this??
Every summer I go for a camping for a week or two - no electricity or anything, just nature...
And now I am looking and these feature phones only because they have amazing battery.
All I need for this phone to be able to is to do calls and to have whatsapp to have a communication with the rest and of course a great battery since it needs to stay alive for a week or two on one charging.
Currently have OnePlus 6T which dies within a day or two, and I dont want to be left without any possible communication when camping so this phone (or phone similar to this one) would be perfect for me.
i read it has whatsapp, does it have it? the screen doesnt break and it it does u can still use it like any other non smart phone right?
tell me one thing wifi hotspot is there or not??
Can we use any payment app in that phone?
Send a text saying "I swear I'll give you your money"
does this phone have a wifi hotspot feature?
Is it waterproof?
I've recommended this to people that want a non-smartphone with modern connectivity. Plus, it's under $100. The sound did seem too bad, and the picture looked pretty good.
does this have a micro sim card slot or a nano guys?
how good is the 4g hotspot network connectivity and speed?
Price?
International ver? Or Thailand ver?
Does this phone have an email and WhatsApp Messenger? Like seperate app
can u please add your gear stuffs like camera for shooting please add this in your description
who is here after watching mrwhoistheboss and tech altar videos ?
Seriously I'm thinking of buying it after those videos
@@AB-td5oo I am as well. I don't get why a lot of the comments I read about the phone talk about it being much worse than a smartphone, because it is not! I'm thinking about getting one as a back-up phone, and might even consider getting a second line (a prepaid one) and keep both phones.
Are you from Bulgaria???
You're missing it, why is everyone wanting to compare to a smartphone ...it's an old phone memorabilia ,not an iPhone comparer
Can i use this as a 4G wifi hotspot?
No spring loaded slider? No sale.
Does it have WIFI hotspot?
Can it run videos on my sd card
You tube priinstall hai kya es Mobile me
any idea foe the rwmwsy of rhia phone
Auto sync option for contacts not available....
Very slow when you open phone book, it takes more time to respond
the video you taken looks like some kind of 90s video...
so nostalgic...
Bought this phone couple of months ago. Still waiting for the Whatsapp app they promised. Also, the "app store" is about 5 apps and some games. Haven't seen anything new in there for months.
where did you purchase this?
It fell off the truck
we are waiting for nokia flip phone.
Great idea for the unboxing! 👍
How to change font size.. any idea
Doest it have wifi pls answer
Can this phone be activated on a U.S. carrier?
Sasha Anastasia Yes I have one I bought from Singapore and I use my US sim from AT&T
I just bought this for 40$ new, and its got literally everything.
CAN WE DOWNLOAD UBER APP?
@@sandhusinghsss i dont know but you can use uber site because it has internet
May i know if its messaging memory capacity improved, compare to that of 3310 reboot. Thanks
The camera looks really good
The storage could be somewhat bigger, the camera is alright as a picture notebook but a better one would not cost much more, and there should be a decent messenger app.
Can we use whatsap in this phone?
i love my Nokia 8110 4G❤❤❤
So a feature phone is not a smartphone? Missing the point much? Thanks for the quality review though. The lid really seems bad and makes me reconsider.
Wasn't the original spring loaded
Hello GSMAreana i want to let you now Kai updated the App Store so there are more apps!
Does it support Viber and WhatsApp?
I cant see side view full screen vedio
