Ty. These are the things that made me nervous about buying an RV. No one wants to spend that much money just for things to get destroyed because you didn't know what the hell you were doing. I knew there were special things that needed to be purchased. It helps in the final cost, especially if your have a fixed budget. 😃 I also want to know in case my hubby can't for some reason. Great video!👍
Thank you so much! That's why we make a few videos like this a year - we learn a lot from full time travel and want you share as much as we can so RVing is enjoyable for everyone!
Good info, you have a good presentation style and don't add a lot of extra not helpful commentary. This is an awesome video for someone who is just getting started and overwhelmed by what they need to get started.
One thing I do sometimes is after dumping the black tank and putting the tablet in the tank thru the toilet, and I know we are going to be moving I would put about 5 to 10 lbs of ice in the black tank. The ice will melt, and while moving will scrap, bang, etc. the "stuff" stuck on the walls of the tank. This will also sometime get a black tank gauge working again.
I hear about the ice thing all the time but I've seen it debunked before. I don't remember who it was, but someone built a clear tank out of Plexiglass and ran some tests with sprayers, ice, erratic driving, and other methods for cleaning tanks. The only one that worked was the sprayers (both wand and built in). Not only does ice melt really quickly, it just doesn't have the mass to really dislodge anything. The clearing of the sensors is probably just because you're putting a good amount of liquid down there (melted ice). The worst thing you can do is to have a dry tank, so ice or otherwise, keep putting liquid in there and you shouldn't have any troubles!
Excellent list. We bought the Viair 400P-RV compressor, our Progressive EMS PT30C surge protector (with bicycle cable lock) and fresh water pressure regulator before we even found and bought our class C. I just knew before clicking "play" that you would come up with something we had totally forgotten. And sure enough there it was ... we need a dedicated water pressure regulator for the black tank flush! Wishing you all dry roads and green lights, Andy & Kim
You are just down right awesome, Brian! And, your camera gal isn't too shabby either 😘!!! You're a natural teacher! I bought that hose, per your recommendation, for my husband a couple of years ago for Father's Day, and he loves it! He's always raving about it to camping neighbors 😊!
Thank you so much for this!!!! It was just what I needed! I found that I really enjoy and trust your family’s videos! My 2 children and I are 4 weeks away from starting our first journey and I’m thrilled and terrified all at the same time. We get to pick up our 2022 Amerlite-ultra lite 248BH this Friday!!! Brian and Erin thank you for a great video on safety setup and sewer. I very much appreciate it. I found this from 3 years ago. I thought I saw this one but I think I forgot to comment and thumbs up. Sorry! See you both soon!
Additions I would include: - Extra hose washers - A tote to hold all sewer items. - A Y-splitter for the water hose so you don't have to disconnect drinking water to hook up a second hose for washing the RV or the black water flush. - Even motor homes need leveling blocks as you really don't want to have tires in the air if you can help it. - Automotive fuses, assorted
Having an Orange Vests to wear for you and your helper when you are off the side of the road, walking around or working to fix the problem you having on your RV. The road, traffic can see you clearly weather or not you are using the flares.
I've watched several of your videos from your travel trailer adventures, Cruise America rentals, RV shows, etc. I really enjoy the way you and your wife explain things in a simple fashion, also trying to learn from your mistakes/experiences in the past. My experience in RV life is zero, but I'm preparing to begin soon. This video will help with my checklist, now I have to just "DO IT"... LOL. Take care guys.
Hello Five2go enjoyed your video. I'm not a first time RVer but some of the things you mentioned are new to me so I will be getting not all but some of those. I like the surge protector and a water filter. Just bough a new Jayco Eagle HT 28.5 STS 33' 5th wheel. Looking forward to more of your videos, Hope to learn more about you Class A and how it is vs trailer and/or 5th wheel. Safe Travels
Fantastic job of presentation with explaining why you use each product. I watched beginning to end and can’t say that about many other u tube channels. Solid information without all the blah blah! Thank you for your effort’s to educate new and yet to be RV dreamers like me. Safe travels to you and the family.
Wow excellent video loved how you broke down the equipment for the Black tank. Thinking about getting an RV but had a fear of black tanks and wasn’t sure if I wanted a Black Tank or Composting Toilet. But after watching your video I believe I now have a enough information to make a decision. Please keep making informative videos I love your presentation style.
I must share this. Most of you may think I'm too off centered. But this works for me. I feel so blessed, because I'm a simple guy who has learned there is so much "stuff" in this world I don't need. I've been full time for around 7 years. I'm primarily a Mn-Az snow bird now, but did my stint around the country. Two things I decided I was never going to do, I never have. I don't use black tanks at all.....I don't fill up my rig with water. I just don't mess with it period. I do have a few cases of drinking water aboard at all times..that's it. Because, 80 percent of the camp grounds I go to have showers, laundry and bathrooms. I don't mind skipping across the road to wash, shower, or take a dumperooski. That beats dealing with sewer issues. I'll hook up to water for dishes, or an occasional shower in the rig...but that's it. Other wise, I have a plethora of friends along the way who don't mind at all if I pop in for a shower. The other 20% of camping I do is in the woods. Most guys love taking a wizz outside, and I don't mind at all to poop with the bears.....my little shovel, and WELL-A ! I do have a nice composting toilet aboard for emergencies..(which I've never used). In case a lady comes over for dinner, wine, coffee and conversation... However....nobody so far has ever used it. No Black tank hoses and headaches for me ! EVER!
You all are such a godsend! 🙏🏾I’ve always wanted an RV since I was little, and now that I’m an adult and exploring which travel trailers are in our budget, I had no idea just how much goes into these things 🤯, but you guys are so helpful and give so much valuable information that I am excited to make this a reality with your help on what to purchase, tips & more. A million thanks!!
FYI that flush King will ONLY work if you have a straight shot from the exit valve directly into the black tank. If there's any kind of bend in the sewage pipe it's completely useless.
Good info! I have almost ALL of the same things for our travel trailer. Harbor Freight wheel chocks, Andersen levelers work good in most cases, but can slide in gravel. Thanks and be safe!
That's what I'm hoping for! It's that time of year again and we're seeing lots of questionable information flying around again too when it comes to setting up RVs and what to use.
We are a family of 8 and we just purchased our first travel trailer. We are planning to take it out for our first weekend trip in a couple weeks and I want to make sure everything goes smoothly and that we have all the essentials. Your videos have been very helpful. I also really appreciate the shopping list. Thank you!
Thanks for the information! I have used a regulator for water pressure on my RV before, but I never thought to use it for the black tank flush too. Great tip!
Great video Brian, I’ve been camping for over 40 years (grew up camping) and you had a couple of things in there that I forgot about, like the elbow for the water hook up. Thanks!!
Hi: Great Video. I saw your slide out. We cut a slit in the swim noodles and slide them over the bottom part of the slide so the kids don't hit their heads on the end of the slide. I hit mine on them from working under the slide and it even cut my head.
Excellent video describing everything needed to go RVing !! Especially with the pressure water valve, didn’t think about blowing the interior pipes and connections. So great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us
This is perfect and well-organized. I like the times listed and optional items so this will be a good reference when I start shopping for equipment. Thanks!
Great content, Brian. Thorough and concise. You guys pretty much covered it. Also let’s give a shout out to the camera operator - excellent job Erin! Oh and “Say Stafe” (23:22) 😁
Succinct and always to the point! Even though I have some of this same equipment and use many similar components I enjoy watching your presentation. Thanks.
Question for you. We are seasonal at an old campground with only 30 amp service. How do you use the 50/30 adapter with the surge protector? Rv->surge->adapter->power source?
Hey Brian! Saw you leaving Walmart the other day, thought about yelling out but decided not to, lol. We just picked up a 30ft toyhauler and this video will definitely be useful for us. Thank you!
I found your videos today and I’m binge watching them all! I’m thinking of going full time RV and you guys are great! I also happen to have grown up in Ocala, (I now live in AZ) and every time you mention it I giggle a little! 🙂
Great advice! We just bought a Thor Hurricane and are moving to Southwest Florida this year! You both look like you are around our age.. Stay safe!! And Thank you for the informative videos!
Good video and very helpful for those getting into RV’ing. Camping World has their own Zero-G hoses. Two to a box for the same price as a single Zero-G. I bought them and went through them with my Zero-G and determined it’s the same hose. Literally identical so that’s a way to save a little money and get an extra hose. For the Y, I also recommend putting a back flow on the side you use for the black tank. One, I leave mine there so I always use that side for black flushing. Two, it’s just an extra precaution to make sure nothing is backing up that could contaminate water. I haven’t seen any negative pressure, etc. from it. I also recommend an S2 square bit and if carrying a 1/4” ratchet, get a socket with one as well. A lot of screws on RV’s use square heads and it just makes it a little easier when tightening things back down, opening access panels, etc. You are dead right about Rhino hoses. Love mine and never had an issue. I did however catch one before it became a problem. The ends on sewer hoses can be removed from the actual hose. These are simply fitting that tighten on. Be sure to check them when using them. Would hate to have one loose and it come apart when dumping. Takes 10 seconds and saves a lot of trouble. I would also recommend keeping some Dicor, Plex sealant, Rubber seal spray, and Slide lube with you are well. Just helps to get to it when needed. Sorry this is so long but my last thing is Eternabond tape, especially if you have a rubber, TPO, or EPDM roof. If you get a tear, it’s a fast permanent fix that will probably last longer than the roof. It’s also good if you find a tear in the underbelly, etc.
Five2Go They are actually Amping world branded. Here is the link www.campingworld.com/teknor-apex-zero-g-rv-marine-hose-118570.html. For some reason they have them listed again as clearance but they did the same thing last year. They call them Teknor but the box is a Camping World box. We were just in Myrtle Beach and they had them everywhere there in the store. The one by us has them as well. Either way a pretty good value for 2 and as I mentioned I cannot tell any difference between these and the Zero-G one I have. Pretty sure they are made for Camping World by them.
Five2Go always nice to have and as you mentioned in the video, these are the best hoses to have. Been using them for quite a while in varying tempos and they just don’t seem to fail.
Great video! I would have loved to seen more about the tools. You spent tons of time talking about the black water and didn't even break out the tool box. 😭 She sure is a good looking coach! Thanks for the video!
The tools aren't very interesting - just some wrenches, sockets, and screwdrivers, the basic stuff you'd need to get most things taken apart and put back together. Maybe I'll do a "what's in your toolbox" episode later on and cover some of the tools and devices unique to RV maintenance. Thanks Josh!
@@Five2Go they have to be more interesting than a poop line....🤣 As always great content! Also it sounds like you took a break from fill timing and are now getting back into it?
I dunno, dealing with sewer is something new to most RVers but hand tools are pretty common. As for fulltiming, we were on the road for almost two years from late 2017 to summer 2019 and then rented a house. We realized about three months into being stationary that it was a mistake so we're getting back out there in less than a month!
Love all the videos I have seen you do, one of the reasons I want to get into RV'ing.......loved your Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS....really liked your part 1 and 2 tour!!! Keep up the great work
Know that the built in surge protector on the bounders are a 1 time use. If it blows you have to put a new one in . Having it is great, but you really should have an external with it too. I've been researching them and have found that to be the case. You will want to have the blue water filter on your hose before any water hits you rig even with the whole rig filter. If not, the muck will get in and your whole house will get run down fast. Doesn't hurt to have a couple filters just to get the best water you can.
I'm going to look into that surge unit a bit closer. Are you sure there isn't just a replaceable breaker or something along those lines in there? Also, while I'm not opposed to doubling up on water filters, how is the onboard one not doing the same thing that the inline one does?
@@Five2Go As an option it can be good to have second filter. A microbial filter in the internal unit is going to be single use, for however many gallons it's nominally rated for, and pretty expensive. An external unit for sediment, or larger particles in general, may have a rinseable filter, or will be less expensive, so those particles aren't blocking the smaller holes of the last filter. Some whole house filters I've seen marketed use four stages even, if water supply is very hard with lime and metals.
I am a big fan of Zero-G hoses around the house and have 150 feet of them. I'm old and tried pretty much every hose on the market. Zero-Gs aren't perfect, they can bend/crimp pretty easy, but overall I think I like them the best so far. Question: I've seen some people say they have pressure problems using them. What do you think about putting the pressure regulator between the Zero-G hose and the RV, versus between the source and the Zero-G hose? P.S. We just bought our first and won't get it out until after winter, so trying to learn ahead of time.
Great video, Heres a few tips with your 2016 Bounder, on your Surge Guard/ATS. If the part number is 41260 (Black Lable w/white letters) it has very limted protection I highly suggest additional protection. If you have Surge Guard/ATS 40350-RVC or 40450-RVC (White Lable w/black letters) it has good protection. Wet bay, Using the Anderson valve settings, if you plan on switching the valve positions, i.e. from City Fixtures to Tank Fill or any other valve postion make sure you relieve the water pressure from the system before moving the valve. This will greatly improve the life and performance of it. I have additional surge/spike protection on our 2020 35K, I am a big "Power Watchdog" fan from Hurges Autoformers. You can checkout my video walk-thru as well as a product review on the Power Watchdog. Safe Travels.
I'll check those part numbers, thank you! I know about the water pressure in those valves though - it was the same in our last rig. I made sure everything was open and clear before switching things around. 👍👍
Great information and well presented -- appreciate the explicit "do this, not that... buy this, not that". Wondering if you or others have thoughts on necessity of portable dump tank?
That depends entirely on how you're planning to camp. We try to always have full hookups, and if we don't we only stay at a place for 3 or 4 nights and hit the dump station on the way out. Others boondock a lot or stay long term in places without sewer connections and that's where a portable dump tank comes in handy. That's just not our style of RVing, but if you need it, you need it! 😋
Help the tank? No. A macerator just makes it so you can grind it up on the way *out* of the tank to then run through a garden hose to a sewer inlet. The main advantages there are that you don't have to carry the big plastic hoses and you can also run it uphill if necessary because it's being pumped and not just flowing with gravity.
Thanks so much for this!! We just got a great deal on a hybrid. We know nothing so appreciate SO much all your info and links!! We pick ours up next week so hopefully we'll have everything we need thanks to your videos and some other's. Though can't really afford much, so happy to have ideas!!! Thanks so much!!!!!
I am a newby, learning the ins and outs of RVs! New subscriber, really appreciate that you go into detail on each of the needed items! Thank you so much, excellent work. Binge watching everything you have done. Love your style and presentation!
Perfect video. Straight to the point. I agree with you on the sewer hose. I have both. Not a fan of the long non collapsible one! Do you use the quick connect hose ends? I have been considering some.
Quick connects on the water hose? Every one of those I've encountered has leaked after a while so I just screw things together. There are probably some really nice ones out there that work great, but I bet they cost more than the hoses do and only save you about 15 seconds of time 😜
I've had that adapter in the back of my head actually. I just need to take some measurements and see if the angle and drop would work down there... That offset is annoying!
New to the newer rigs (grew up in the day of 120 extension cord from pedestal to camper for electricity). Understand the shutting off the breaker then plugging in the surge protector then flipping breaker on to test the pedestal. My question is..after all is good do u need to shut breaker off again then plug cord into surge protector or just plug in after the test?
Breaker off, surge protector in, breaker on, check lights, breaker off, if everything's good go ahead and hook up, then turn the breaker on again. *Always* have the breaker off when plugging something in or unplugging something.
Hi Brian, I've viewed a few of your informative videos and I think you explain the R V experience in a great way for a beginner like me to get started on the right foot. All the best to you and your family. Fred
Great video. And a side note. We just left a campground yesterday and Don't leave your Y-connector on the spigot at the campground like I did. :( Have to get a new one now.
After the first time I *almost* did that, I started disconnecting the Y from the post and then pulling it all apart instead of disconnecting things in reverse order from the rig.
How many feet of hoses/wires (50/30 amp extension cords, sewage hose, water hose)do you recommend? Also, do you recommend 2 packs of leveling blocks so you can level your RV and also put one under the stabilizers?
We had two packs of the orange blocks, so 20 of those total. It's a good amount. As for electrical, heavy duty extension cords are quite expensive so 25' should do you. The other ones are much cheaper so as much as your want to carry. For water, two 25's and a 10' should cover you 99% of the time. With sewer, the single kit (with 2x 10' pipes) will work almost everywhere. The distance to sewer is one of the things you should check when pulling your rig in. I carried a third 10' pipe but only used it once.
We actually go in-depth on this topic in our livestream from a few weeks back, so go watch that if you want the full story. The quick version is that we're going to be traveling a LOT slower this time, spending 3-4 weeks at a time in each campground, so we want the two smaller vehicles to explore in instead of putting a ton of miles on an expensive and unwieldy diesel truck.
@@Five2Go Thank you for the reply. I will got watch the livestream. Your videos are really great. We cover cruise travel but, the lure of a land cruise has been steadily growing. Visit us at www.cruise-addicts.com or @Cruise Addicts
It looks VERY similar and is also made by Camco, but I haven't used that one specifically, just their Rhino line of hoses. It's nice that it comes with the clear section for the "top end" of the pipe.
Thanks for the new video! I enjoy watching you talking about poop hahaha. Yeah, that brand of compressors is the BEST in the world. I have one compressor for my Jeep, for offroad. Is not just about the pressure, even the super cheap will state that goes up to 120psi but the thing is how much time can be on without melting. And how quick will inflate a tire. I had one of that brand that makes the green liquid to prevent flat tires, inflated ok, but I had the problem that the tire came out of the rim, you can press the tire down with a rope a stick but a slow compressor wont be enough to quick put pressure so the tire goes in again. Again thanks for the video!
Most gas Class A's max out at 5k lbs towing capacity. I'm not sure what F150's weigh. We use a ReadyBrute Elite II with an integrated braking system, it works really well.
hey guys! we just bought a brand new 37 foot camper. and I was wondering is there any advise or tips that would be good for first time campers? this is our first time owning a camper and im so exited to go camping with it for the first time!
Congrats on the new rig! I see that you hopped into Discord earlier - that's a great place to ask questions and learn from everyone else on there. The #1 thing we always recommend when you're new is to TAKE YOUR TIME and double check everything. There are way too many things that can go wrong when hooking up, driving, parking, dumping tanks, setting up a campsite, etc etc etc. Don't ever feel rushed, even if you're blocking a road and someone is waiting to get by while you're pulling into your spot. It's better for them to be patient or just turn around vs. you forgetting to do something and getting hurt or breaking something.

That's what I'm hoping for! It's that time of year again and we're seeing lots of questionable information flying around again too when it comes to setting up RVs and what to use.
Thats why I am here. Planning to live full time in a few years!
Great vid! Thanks for sharing.
We are a family of 8 and we just purchased our first travel trailer. We are planning to take it out for our first weekend trip in a couple weeks and I want to make sure everything goes smoothly and that we have all the essentials. Your videos have been very helpful. I also really appreciate the shopping list. Thank you!
Wow, I learned so much! This is the best RV tutorial tutorial I've seen so far! Thanks Brian!
Thank you Heather! 👍😁👍
My family just got an RV on Thursday and we are going to pick it up in a couple to a few weeks.
Congrats! You're going to love it!
@@Five2Go thank you so much!
Awesome videos! Great demonstrations with clear instructions. Lots of great advice! Well done.
Thanks Jim!
Very informative AND it also gave me a list of add-ons I didn’t think of. Thanks
Thanks David! We're happy to help!
You guys make some of the best, most informative videos out there. Clear, Concise and incredibly helpful. Thanks
Thank you so much Mike!
This was very interesting and informative! Thanks! ❤️🇺🇸🦠😷🧚🏻♀️
Thank you!
Thanks for the information!
I have used a regulator for water pressure on my RV before, but I never thought to use it for the black tank flush too. Great tip!
I'm paranoid about anything involving the black tank! 😂😂😂
@@Five2Go Robin Williams in RV comes to mind, lol
Awesome video thanks
Elbows are a MUST....I keep my hose connected to it for ez connection..
Great video Brian, I’ve been camping for over 40 years (grew up camping) and you had a couple of things in there that I forgot about, like the elbow for the water hook up. Thanks!!
Thank you!
Enjoy your presentations!!
Thanks James!
Great video, great presentation, great content, you kept my attention for the entire length of the video. Really helpful information. Thank you
Tasks Keith!
I just purchased the Grand Design fifthwheel 278 B H your knowledgeable advice are really appreciated. Thank you very much 😊
We’re total newbies to RVING (Class C bought 9/2019). Great tips. Bought 2/3 of what’s on your list of recommended items. Gotta get shopping!
We're so glad we could help! We know there's a lot out there and it can be overwhelming so we're trying to pass along what has worked for us so far!
Great video take care till your next video stay strong
Thanks Robert!
Hi: Great Video. I saw your slide out. We cut a slit in the swim noodles and slide them over the bottom part of the slide so the kids don't hit their heads on the end of the slide. I hit mine on them from working under the slide and it even cut my head.
Thanks you and alot of great information😏😯👍🏻 we have learn alot about camping . Thanks for sharing ♥️
Thanks for the tips.
Side note: I could not help but think about Jerry Maguire’s favorite saying during your wrap up.
Thanks Don!
Am new here, but really love your channel. I bought my hubby a surge protector for Father's Day. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you so much Wendy!
This is a great update Video from your original, AWESOME rig that you upgraded to 🙂
Thank you so much!
Thanks!
Thanks Kelly! 👍👍
Nice presentation Sir Brian, lots of tips and info before u go to war i mean camping🤣🤣🤣u really are the man but Tera is the Boss 🤣🤣🤣

Great content, Brian. Thorough and concise. You guys pretty much covered it. Also let’s give a shout out to the camera operator - excellent job Erin! Oh and “Say Stafe” (23:22) 😁
Haha, I caught that while editing and smacked myself in the forehead. Maybe "Say Stafe" will be my new motto 😂😂😂
We are looking at RVing and this is your second view I watched and some GREAT suggestions and information! Thank you!
Great info! More videos like this. Is very helpful.
Thanks Angela! We're going to cover more gear and tech that we use in the future, I promise!
Succinct and always to the point! Even though I have some of this same equipment and use many similar components I enjoy watching your presentation. Thanks.
Thanks Michael!
with Kelly A. The time codes rock!
RUclips put chapters into my video too because I included timecodes in the description. It's a neat new feature they added a couple weeks ago.
Question for you. We are seasonal at an old campground with only 30 amp service. How do you use the 50/30 adapter with the surge protector? Rv->surge->adapter->power source?
Yes, just like that.
Hey Brian! Saw you leaving Walmart the other day, thought about yelling out but decided not to, lol. We just picked up a 30ft toyhauler and this video will definitely be useful for us. Thank you!
Definitely yell out next time, we love meeting people! 👍😀👍 Congrats on the new rig!
Excellent video! Thank you.
Thanks Taylor!
I found your videos today and I’m binge watching them all! I’m thinking of going full time RV and you guys are great! I also happen to have grown up in Ocala, (I now live in AZ) and every time you mention it I giggle a little! 🙂
That's awesome Diana! Thanks for following along! 😍
I've never seen the flexible hoses at CW, I'll have to swing by there and take a look next time I'm near one. Are they Camco?
Five2Go They are actually Amping world branded. Here is the link www.campingworld.com/teknor-apex-zero-g-rv-marine-hose-118570.html. For some reason they have them listed again as clearance but they did the same thing last year. They call them Teknor but the box is a Camping World box. We were just in Myrtle Beach and they had them everywhere there in the store. The one by us has them as well. Either way a pretty good value for 2 and as I mentioned I cannot tell any difference between these and the Zero-G one I have. Pretty sure they are made for Camping World by them.
We've got a CW just down the street, I may have to pop over and grab a pair just to have some extra reach!
She sure is a good looking coach!
@@Five2Go they have to be more interesting than a poop line....🤣
As always great content!
Thank you for sharing this video. Much appreciated.
Love all the videos I have seen you do, one of the reasons I want to get into RV'ing.......loved your Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS....really liked your part 1 and 2 tour!!! Keep up the great work
Thanks Craig!
@@Five2Go I'm interested in what you find out as I have the same internal hard wired surge protector as you.
Awesome video!
Thanks!
VERY THOROUGH AND EFFICEIENT THANKS FOR SHARING THIS NEEDED INSIDE INFO.... BTW MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I like having the regulator before the filter and hoses because I've seen some super high water pressure cause hoses to balloon or bubble up.
Really well organized! Great tips and great presentation.
@@Five2Go Thanks. As with many things, we may not know until we're out there. : )
That was the best insight on what's needed/optional and very well explained. Thank you! Would a macerator pump help the black tank?
Wow, very impressed. Thanks!
There are probably some really nice ones out there that work great, but I bet they cost more than the hoses do and only save you about 15 seconds of time 😜
They make clear 45 degree elbow fittings that would probably work really well for your RV sewer connection.
I've had that adapter in the back of my head actually. I just need to take some measurements and see if the angle and drop would work down there... That offset is annoying!
Thank you great for beginners
New to the newer rigs (grew up in the day of 120 extension cord from pedestal to camper for electricity). Understand the shutting off the breaker then plugging in the surge protector then flipping breaker on to test the pedestal. My question is..after all is good do u need to shut breaker off again then plug cord into surge protector or just plug in after the test?
Breaker off, surge protector in, breaker on, check lights, breaker off, if everything's good go ahead and hook up, then turn the breaker on again. *Always* have the breaker off when plugging something in or unplugging something.
Hey thank you. Just bought my first rv class A. Great tips. Wish me luck I am very green.lol
You'll do great! Just take your time and double check everything 👍👍
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Hi Brian, I've viewed a few of your informative videos and I think you explain the R V experience in a great way for a beginner like me to get started on the right foot. All the best to you and your family. Fred
Thank you so much Fred!
Again your advice is amazing
Thank you!
Interested to learn why you chose a Class A. I am guessing you favor it from your past experiences, why? Me and my wife just started looking.
Brian, thanks for the info. Don
Thanks Don!
Hey, awesome vid. Do you know how your sewer hose kit compares with the Camco 39659 Super Kit RV Sewer Hose Kit - 20'. They look similar.
Thanks for watching! That Viair pump is pretty great - it's definitely worth the extra cost over the cheaper units. 👍😉👍
You mentioned that you pull a tow vehicle. Do you think your unit would do ok pulling an F150, and what braking system do you use ?
Most gas Class A's max out at 5k lbs towing capacity. I'm not sure what F150's weigh. We use a ReadyBrute Elite II with an integrated braking system, it works really well.
Is it safe to pigtail the wires going to a 30 amp rv receptacle?
hey guys! we just bought a brand new 37 foot camper. and I was wondering is there any advise or tips that would be good for first time campers? this is our first time owning a camper and im so exited to go camping with it for the first time!
@@Five2Go ok, thank you!!!
