Day 1 not 3 hours after we picked up our new trailer -- we blew a fuse on the tongue jack. Luckily, we walked over to the old trailer, found the box of spare fuses, and back in business... ha-ha. Fuses are DEFINITELY a day one acquisition!
I bought that leaf blower you showed and love it. I tried recommending it in the rv lifestyle Facebook page and got suspended because they said leaf blowers aren't rv related. The amount of people that don't know that they can be used to blow off your roof, slides, awnings and even campsite is mind blowing.
Bumblebees are the most docile of all bee types. You would have to do a lot to get one of them to sting you. Just an fyi, love the videos keep em coming.
Holy cow...no wonder you need a F450 with a tool box and a 395MS!!! I'd like to say I'm not far off, but I AM!!! The PEX Tools, blower (in my case Makita), and that blessed butane torch are on my need-to-have list now!
I wondered why y’all had an F-450 and a triple axle toy hauler for two people and an Indian motorcycle. Now I know it’s for all the tools! As a professional mechanic I have to say, nice job 👍 you are well prepared for most anything.
If my wife saw this, she would understand how my brain works. So so well done both of you. This is our 2nd year of RV'ing and she thinks I bring to many tools. Thank you very much for helping rationalize bringing the full kit!
Another great use for the heat gun is to heat up and remove eternabond tape. The folks we bought our 2000 Brave from used eternabond to (failed) repair a cracked skylight. The only way to get the eternabond off without damaging the roof was a good heat gun. I spent 2 days getting about 1/3 of it off, the rest came off quite clean, without damaging the roof using the heat gun.
Damn, I'm gonna need a bigger tool box.....LOL You have everything, if not more, than I have at my sticks and bricks! and I can see the need for everything you've mentioned! I think I'm going to have to use some "what-if-this-happens"-"scare-tactics" with my wife to convince her to let me spend a few grand in Home Depot or Lowes :) Because NOW, I won't feel comfortable with traveling without all of my tools :) GREAT VIDEO! -Todd
Just wanted to say how helpful your videos have been to me and my wife. Shedding a lot of light on many subjects that have been weighting on our minds. Keep up the great work and safe travels. Hope to meet you guys in person some day!
I'm starting out on my full-time journey this Summer. I can tell we're going to become close friends. You talk at a level I can understand. i"m going to start my SPEED BINGE of your video: preparing for overload now. Thanks both of you
I would recommend to add 3 items to your kit. I'm sure Chad wouldn't mind looking for these the next time he's at Lowes or Harbor Freight. A "cheater" pipe that fits that long 1/2 drive breaker bar because there will always be that "one bolt" you can't crack loose. A file set with a "rat tail" (round), flat or with a rasp and a triangle for when you've boogered up some threads and have to make a quick fix. Lastly, I would recommend a smaller (1.5t - 2t) floor jack preferably aluminum whose handle can also double as a cheater pipe in a pinch. Love the videos and the energy that you display in these educational episodes. Stay safe.
Getting stuck on your road, I have used 4L, emergency break 4 Clicks applies equal pressure to force a dual pull with out one side not turning. I have used this tactic many times with my jeep and suburban. Hood luck and keep up the good shows.
I couldn't imagine bringing all that equipment with me that's the kind of stuff I leave at home you have a lot of great wonderful tips though I enjoy watching your video I hope both of you stay safe and enjoy your lifestyle
Yea. it's a different situation when the RV is our home... Definitely more tools than needed for anything less than full time.. Welcome to our channel! 😊
Something tells me when you sold your house to full time, you kept ALL of your tools :) If there's anyone to RV caravan with, it's you two. You have everything anyone can need "just in case". Freakin bloopers get me everytime!
Haha you guys are great. My sister and her husband are working towards the RV life with me soon to follow. I sent them this video because it’s perfect for understanding life on the road. I’m 52, living alone and a trucker/mechanic/electrician/plumber/carpenter etc so I get you COMPLETELY on your tool choices lol. I’m really enjoying your videos along with the Hanks videos. Y’all are helping me to motivate and get my life in gear to go RVing. Just have to sell this house now lol
This is heavy....had me laughing like a SOB. You guys are great.... i dont know what i would do if i had to cull my tools 🤣. Cant live with out my welders and plasma cutter lathe and bridgeport. 🤣. Thank You for all your hard work doing these vids. Jealous you get to take your bike. All mine stay home 😞
Just a thought; ever thought about a small fire cabinet to store spray cans and flammable containers. Seems you have everything though. Thanks for the great ideas.
Something I would suggest is a foldable Little Giant Ladder, I am handicapped and can not get on my roof, I do not have slide covers, I find them irritating! So I used my Little Giant ladder to sweep off my sliders!
Way too cool. Felt like a field trip...with not so responsible chaperones. One’s wielding dangerous tools and the other admittedly doesn’t give a damn about any of it. What a dream! Now I gotta go tool shopping. Thanks, Chad. Tara, although you have no interest whatsoever, I guess I still love you. But it doesn’t mean I have to like you right now. 😜. Thanks, guys. You’re awesome as usual. Troy
Changing Lanes Which is one of many reasons why I still love her! Lol. Another is getting to pick on her once a week because she’s so much fun. 😜. Y’all are really enjoyable to watch and I appreciate the hard work put into it. I used to do vid production professionally so I’m familiar with what it takes. The hard work, your knowledge/experience, plus your personalities, make this an excellent channel. Troy
I have to say one of my new tools is a 3D printer. Amazing the little problems you can solve being able to make custom parts. Granted I'm not full time, but the printers aren't very big.
Tim the the Toolman Taylor, would be proud.. But, I never saw the most important tool of all, the telescoping magnetic screw, bolt and nut retriever.. and a Navy 100,000 lumens torchlight.. 🤣 Great video.
A Rivet Gun and assorted rivets is really good too have, as well as some “Rivet Nuts”. I have a magnet on a telescopic shaft, because I drop too many small items in hard to reach areas.
One thing we've learned to keep on hand is some Flex Seal tape - we ran under a tree limb at a Navy base campground in Pensacola and ripped the roof membrane - just small rips but six of them. It was raining, and that tape kept the roof from leaking until we were able to get to Lazydays and get the membrane replace. Probably saved us a ton of water damage, and we've added a couple of Flex Seal products to our repair arsenal.
I get to tell you something on the lube replace the white lithium with Napa Chain and Cable lube it doesn’t smell or stain also comes with an extension hose so you can pin point and unlike the lithium it does gel but doesn’t dry great for door hinges power steps and of corse bike chains. One last thing wheel grease find Teflon grease on Amazon
WOW snap-on-man can barely stay up with your assortment! Great video! Plain and simple. When you have it you won't need it. When you don't have it, you're going to need it! Thanks GREAT VIDEO SAFE TRAVELS 😎

Great assortment one thing I have that I don't see is a cordless 1/2 impact .I have Ryobi because I have that battery platform also I have Milwaukee 1/2 impact very high torque .I have severe arthritis and other problems .So impacts make tire changing so easy .Never to many tools .Chad you have the first tool list that impresses me so close to mine almost exactly even leaf blower .My health issue are similar to Tara's you are the reason we are going .Not full time yet to many Dr appt Thanks guys for great video's
Wow, I will say , as a part time camper it is a little easier with my Craftsman tool bag with basic quick repair tools and of course fuses. Gorilla tape, heavy wire, electrical tape and basic lubes. You definitely have to have a load when you are traveling with your house. Good stuff . Thanks
Excellent, I just asked you me & the RV yesterday about what tools he carried. I new you were the handy man. I have a giant tool box and many AC and battery powered tools. I know no matter what I do I will have to buy something I already own on the road. I have all the tools you mentioned don't plan on to many add on projects so I'll stick to the maintenance tools. My wife says why do you need 15 screw drivers, I say why do you need the same shoe in five different colors? Ahhhhhh she says.
2 things Chad. No locktite and no non contact ac voltage detector for checking hot skin. Maybe I missed it? Tools breed on their own ya know? Lol good job as usual... I'm a Coast Guard Vet and you're Navy but I won't hold that against you. :)😁 Did you know American Legions and alot of VFWs have RV spaces for our use? See ya on the road sometime. 😊
💡 Here’s an idea for your telescopic mirror for checking underneath your r.v. Chad, fix a strip of battery powered led’s on both of the longer edges and then you can see fast and easily without having any need to dig a torch out 💡 Take care of each other and thanks for your time and effort, much appreciated mate! 🤗🏴🤗
Another use for that shovel is to act as a lever to raise a tire/wheel when changing. slide the point under the tire and push down on the handle then push wheel on to the lugs.A block of wood can be used as a fulcrum if needed.
Finally I have met my match!! It’s great to see that there is someone else that is just as prepared as me. I got it from camping with my parents as a kid. Mother and daddy were very prepared for everything in their own areas. Keep up the great videos. Charles and LeAnne
Finally someone who carries about as many tools as I do! I am not a full timer but just can't leave home feeling unprepared. I carry three items (maybe more) that you didn't mention: a 4.5-inch angle grinder, a Milwaukee M18 impact wrench (love it) and an OBII reader to read vehicle error codes. Once a motorhead always a motorhead. If I had room I would throw in my Miller Mig Welder! :)
Been rving for anout 20yrs and full time for 5yrs. You hit about every tool I have. The one thing I have found is that if you are going through what tools to take with you and you think you ought to take a tool .....take it......YOU WILL NEED IT. Take yout map/propane tourch apart when transporting it.. vibration and rubbing could turn it on and in some cases strike it(dont ask me how i know). Tip for working under any type RV. Use an under awning carpet. It is easy to slide in and out from under it. If you drop a piece of what ever it is easier to find. It also keeps you cleaner as from sand, dirt, grass and modetate amounts of moisture. If resting most types of electric in rv, most zny type of multimeter will work. If testing electronics you will need a "true RMS" meter. Also having a clamp meter that resds both DC and AC amps is very helpful (and more expensive). Thanks
Chad you are an inspiration to all of us. You are not afraid to try things and fix them. God bless you and your family. I’m your number one fan! I enjoy your videos
I've been looking forward to the "tools" video. Holy crap! I think I'll start with the air compressor and work up. This is my first week of retirement. Feels very different. Probably won't be a full-timer but we'll definitely be near a lake and I'll pick up some of the things you mentioned that I think would be good to have. Thanks again. Well done.
In addition to the torch, consider a battery operated air mattress pump. When I get my fire smoldering I hit it with the pump and it gets the fire raging in seconds.
Kept me smiling through the whole video. I have almost everything that you dragged out. A couple uses for the leaf blower. It is a great stubborn fire starter. It is also fantastic for moving dust & dirt from one location in the basement to another. A must have that was not mentioned is a 12 ton bottle jack & some 12X12 lumber for putting under the frame should the need ever arise. It has. Been using the T9 for many many years before the RV on the saltwater kept boat. Great stuff. There is no such thing as being too self reliant. My DW is an experienced boat woman. She knows tools & is never afraid to get hands dirty.
Morning Looks like mine only neater ever trip I find its fun going thru each bay to find what I don't need so far haven't got rid of anything I am still.under weight issue Found great power toolset from Wal-Mart still working after 4years on sale for 79
A Viair compressor! YES! Isn't cheap, but it works exceptionally especially on high pressure applications. You nailed it! Also a HALON 2-1/2 lb. Fire extinguisher. Not corrosive like abc powder and Clean! Spray it on a dress, wear it 30 minutes later.
OMG 😱!! You have more tools than Carter had pills. How in the world do you ever have time to go out and see the world. Your tool collection is exhausting.... and I considered myself a tool guy too, but ...wow! Good thing I didnt see your tool video before I went full time RV, or I might have just stayed home. Just sayin'.
Like we said.. we do a lot of DIY projects.. Many people don't need half of what we have... But we were asked by many people for this and this is what we have... 👍🏼
Yes!!! Lol.....I have more tools in our Momentum 320G than we do in our garage. Learned our lessons from our prior “Keystone Bullet”. Fingers crossed on this rig.
Just wanted to thank you guys for all of your efforts and videos you put out. Just like KYD we watch your videos every Sunday evening and find them just as informative and enjoyable. Your tool collection 😳😍 Thanks again!
Some cool tools! There used to be a Canadian chain called “House of Tools”...nirvana! Hardware stores have always been a fascinating place for me, so much nifty things that I have no idea what they’re for but I’d like them. Thankfully we’re out rich or we’d be overwhelmed with useless bits & bobs🤣. You had a couple that I thought “yeah! That would be cool, er, handy to have”. Hubs & I have already started planing which tools we’re bringing with us, so far it’s a wood lathe, scroll-saw, planer...and the tools that go with them. We’d pick up local wood & make something from it and there we’d have a souvenir for that place!
Hi great video Even I learnt a few things have ! Out takes : How’s a little person suppose to get on the back of the truck ? 😂. A. Apple box on the ground for you (. You know the ones made out of timber, a solid one ) I had a Apple box for my Godson, when he was little, so that he could het to the kitchen sink to wash his hands ! 😂
Here is my tool plan. I'll save thousands of dollars and just follow you guys from campsite to campsite.
Me too 👍

You must be been a marine
No one left behind
Only gets better as I watch
Chad .... You are DEFINITELY the "Tim Taylor" of RV maintenance !!!! You can NEVER have too many tools .....
Agreed! I love the “tool” sounds. Such a tool guy thing lol
Bumblebees are the most docile of all bee types. You would have to do a lot to get one of them to sting you.
Just an fyi, love the videos keep em coming.

Well, let me axe you something.... LOL

Chad you give this moderate handyman confidence. I was surprised you didn’t have a reciprocating saw

Good info. Tool addict.....Good when you need them. Always need them when you get rid or lend them out. You know it.
Just wanted to say how helpful your videos have been to me and my wife. Shedding a lot of light on many subjects that have been weighting on our minds. Keep up the great work and safe travels. Hope to meet you guys in person some day!

Chad, You've done Tim Taylor PROUD!! Nice job1
Just thought I carried everything, you are the man 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Your Wife is lightning up a lot more than used to and she is just the cutest thing and makes you look really good.
I about spit my water out at the bloopers … lol nice video!

Yeah, I stuff my toolbox with "just Incase" items...... For both me and anyone I come across in need. Nice toolbox!
Great info, ty 👍
Collaboration?
I have to say one of my new tools is a 3D printer. Amazing the little problems you can solve being able to make custom parts. Granted I'm not full time, but the printers aren't very big.
Great video. That truck toolbox is like magic. You just keep on pulling out more tools! LOL!
I love your excitement over the tools...like Tara I don't have much interest but your enthusiasm is infectious.
Boys and their toys 😂 I have a hubby just like this...I laugh but it’s awesome they can fix everything.
Good point on the clear tubs. Thx for mentioning.
Yep, my hubs LOVED this video (of course🤣)!! NOW we need Tara to do an inside organization video of all the tips & tricks to organize that inside🤗
That is in the works.. 👍🏼 😊

Heeheehee! You can never have too many tools....says Cap’n Rusty. We are out in our RV....BOAT at Palm Island....CHEERS! Stay safe and healthy!
Smart man, that Rusty! 😊
I know you guys know this but you guys make an effective team. 🙏👌
WOW snap-on-man can barely stay up with your assortment! Great video! Plain and simple. When you have it you won't need it. When you don't have it, you're going to need it! Thanks GREAT VIDEO SAFE TRAVELS 😎
A Master Mechanic with many years of experience and a lifetime of common sense, something you can't teach. Great video
I will say for the triangles. The proper placement of them are 50, 100, and 200 feet from the back of the vehicle. If on a curve the last one should be in the middle of the curve to warm people. This is what we are taught in CDL class. Good stuff here too, love that you do have the triangles. Be safe, keep it between the ditches
Rechargeable Road Hazard lights are a must
Wow !You guys carry a lot of stuff !
Yea.. We need a 1/2 inch impact for the tires for sure!
Nice video. It is not surprising you have so many tools since you live in your 5th wheel.
The wife just gave you a laughing “dirk” classification when you said why you had a blower. We’re both official dorks now. Love your show.
This was like watching a kid open up presents.... except i wasn't the kid! 😫👍🤣🇺🇸
Wow, I will say , as a part time camper it is a little easier with my Craftsman tool bag with basic quick repair tools and of course fuses. Gorilla tape, heavy wire, electrical tape and basic lubes. You definitely have to have a load when you are traveling with your house. Good stuff . Thanks
Great, good to know I have the right stuff. YEAH !! Lowes and Sears, manly places, AR AR, Tool Time!!
This is a great video. I see a few things I need to add to my list of tools in my travel trailer.
awe awe awe... visions of Tim the Tool Man Taylor! Well done.
Chad you could open your own hardware store! You're lucky to have all that storage and an understanding wife! Happy trails
Great Video! Lube Shuttle ROCKS! NO long rod, no mess, easy grease change, Love it !
Wow! Chad lit up like a little kid in this video. Way to hang in there Tara. My hubby drags me into Lowes occasionally too.😩
OMG you guys are full of it! And I mean that in the BEST way possible! You’re full of fabulous information, thank you for that.
I used to be a hardcore Dewalt person but I moved over to Ridgid due to the lifetime repair or replacement. Glad I did.
Long time camper, first time 5th wheeler.. and soooo many great things you mentioned. Love the videos and you got a subbed!
Welcome to our channel! 😊
@@ChangingLanes so much to learn but you guys make it straight forward and to the point so I appreciate that. 🙏
Much love from🇨🇦🍻
Boom! Safe travels!
We have locktite and such, but if we got down to that level this video would be 2 hours long.. LOL
Thank you for your service!!!
We just went full time. You have no idea how much your videos have helped/influenced me! Thanks so much!
Happy to help!
I’m like damn he brought everything from home and it dawned on me it is your home. 🤪👊👍😎 Nice job on the video.
Love using those those drink holders as tiki torches! That is a great idea
Another use for that shovel is to act as a lever to raise a tire/wheel when changing. slide the point under the tire and push down on the handle then push wheel on to the lugs.A block of wood can be used as a fulcrum if needed.
That was a fun video, I was an Army mechanic so I can relate to this video 🔧🧰
We have a bluetooth OBD reader also, but it didn't make the cut.. LOL
Great job Shipmate! Yes I love doing new projects because I know I'll need a new toy, I mean tool, for it and will always have that tool for later!
Thanks for the tips. The use of your leaf blower is awesome for fanning campfires.
Tools are an awesome thing to have. When you’re out in the middle of nowhere and something breaks and you can fix it if you had the tool.
Great video. I have also found a code reader for the truck can come in handy.
Got one of those too, but had to draw the line somewhere.. 😊
Been rving for anout 20yrs and full time for 5yrs. You hit about every tool I have. The one thing I have found is that if you are going through what tools to take with you and you think you ought to take a tool .....take it......YOU WILL NEED IT.

TRi-Flow is also a very good lubricant... Aircraft mechanic use it
Awesome video guys, thanks.
Chad you are an inspiration to all of us. You are not afraid to try things and fix them. God bless you and your family. I’m your number one fan! I enjoy your videos
First channel on YT where you smash the "THUMBS UP" before even watching the content. Keep up the good work guys, and be safe out there!
You do NOT screw around haha. This was great to watch. You guys are awesome, thanks for the insight!
Well done.
Congrats on retirement!
Thank you. 😛
In addition to the torch, consider a battery operated air mattress pump. When I get my fire smoldering I hit it with the pump and it gets the fire raging in seconds.
The blower does the same.. 😊
@@ChangingLanes Yeah, I didn't wait that long to make the suggestion.
Wow! It's a lot to think about. How about a list of appliance repair items?
I just subscribed. Thanks for all the great shows.
Welcome aboard!
Morning
Looks like mine only neater ever trip I find its fun going thru each bay to find what I don't need so far haven't got rid of anything I am still.under weight issue
Found great power toolset from Wal-Mart still working after 4years on sale for 79
A Viair compressor! YES! Isn't cheap, but it works exceptionally especially on high pressure applications. You nailed it! Also a HALON 2-1/2 lb. Fire extinguisher. Not corrosive like abc powder and Clean! Spray it on a dress, wear it 30 minutes later.
We have this for fire suppression: ruclips.net/video/0A3Qb8SX5pI/видео.html But the halon extinguishers are good too.
Tools, He’ll ya!! Hopefully you will make your way to Canada some time in the future. Newfoundland is a beautiful place to visit.
Your tool collection 😳😍
Thanks again!
Thanks for watching! We're in good company with Marc and Trish!
A better axe makes all the difference try out a Fiskars axe. Could also do a review on it. Great job on the videos keep them coming.
I'm gonna go broke if I keep watching your videos! So many things on my RV wishlist!
Hi great video Even I learnt a few things have !
