A short 'how to' video as a lot of people were messaging me confused about how to unlock the higher-tier generators (TLDW: you just need to complete the Powering up Power Stations events).
I've done some extensive testing into what gives different plans with public workshops.you get a random plan from a shortlist when capturing a workshop and another when you defend it, repeated defences reward duplicate from first defence but you also get a different random plan when you recapture a fallen workshop. I don't know if you were aware of that last part so I thought I'd give you a heads up. I normally get things like chsirs, tables, boxes and decorations from recapping.
A very simple event to unlock some sweet things early on. I got both the fusion generator and windmill from Poseidon Energy. Haven't even done Thunder Mountain or Monongah. Also, you can get a "Damaged" Hazmat Suit at these locations, so it isn't as good, but works for low levels. Anyway, nice guide, helpful for a lot of people I'm sure.
@@ericb6390 it's the only one I've done and I got 3 damaged hazmat suits, so. Also, by damaged, I don't mean condition. I mean. Its named Damaged Hazmat Suit and only does 500 rad resistance. A full Strength suit, does 1000 rad resistance.
The "damaged pipes" in many of these locations are mirrored on the layout. (Think "symmetry".) So if you are having trouble finding a pipe, look at the location opposite from the pipes you have already repaired in the same room. Monongah is especially this way.
I hope they fix the Power Plant Power Boxes soon. Stinks that after doing the repair event they say still tell you "This Power Station would work better if the Poseidon Plant was powered up".
Just what the "doctor ordered." Thank you. I'd started these a few times and couldn't complete it. Now I just did and got the windmill plan. Thank you.
To help against the disappearing mobs (Poseidon) do the plants 1st oustside then go in. If you go in and out it can make the inside mond disappear but can still hit you. Additionally, the windmill will drop from there.
Great vid. Was stuck fir hours trying to find what l missed. Thought you just had to fix the controller panels. Didn't know about the pipeline's in the cooling towers. Helped allot.
Thanks! This really helps! I went to Poseidon SOLO at Level 9 and once I figured out MOST of it about 1/2 way in, and by then I was fighting the clock and lost MISERABLY! lol I held my own against the scorched (about a dozen Stimpacks lighter! lol) , but was getting severely lost and unsure of what to do. Especially the pipes! I had no idea I had to repair those too! Thanks again!!
I tried to repair Poseidon but didn’t have any radiation protection and had to back out pdq (if you go up the stairs you'll find a hazmat suit in a hut on the roof). It seems to be one of those quests designed with teams in mind. It would be fairly straightforward if there were a lot of you running around.
You mentioned how some pipes could not be repaired, and you suspected a previous player's attempts may have interfered with your attempt, and I think it makes sense, making this is a serious problem, SPECIALLY WHEN ONE ATTEMPTS TO DO "I am become death" I swear because of this game breaking issue, I ended up doing the quest 6 times, Yep SIX TIMES.. All due to the game not behaving as expected, Out of the six attempts, I reached the command centre three times, Only problem was my progress kept on getting mixed up with other players previous attempts and infuratingly my game either froze or the command centre did not respond to any of my inputs as expected, leaving me no other choice but to log out and log back in and grind away the entire quest all over again, and in one case I had to get a key card all over again, which BTW I only discovered I had lost it when I got to the command centre.. I seriously hope they plug what I suspect is a server side bug causing this issue, as I still have Bravo and Charlie Silo's to go through before nuking "The Queen fissure - I think?", at least that's what I think it's called.
Such a shame the building is clunky(er) than FO4 and the stash is ridiculously low. Had to quit my one true love until they sort it 😢😢😢. Keep your vids going mah dewd good to watch 🤘🏼.
First time you claim one you get a bunch of defensive walls, the in ground water purifier and medium generator. Plus doing the defensive missions gets you random settlement blueprints and some settlements provide unique resources like packaged food, fusion cores and there's an ammunition factory somewhere to get bullets
But you can get a lot of resources meanwhile you are there, like ammo, nuclear mats, fusion cores, minerals like aluminum and such, the point of this workshops is that there is a production of this things, then u have to just defend and collect your loot.
I agree with Thomas R, I take one or two early in my game session to collect resources, Junk piles provide the springs and screws you need for PA repair. Lead for ammo. Aluminum for weapon repair etc.
You have any "single foundation" ideas that are realistic and not floaty? I stopped playing fallout cuz my camp kept disappearing and I had to rebuild it over and over again. Takes about 30 to 40 minutes to set it up as I had it but I've gotten sick of doing that. Theres a few single foundation camps where if that happens you'd be able to easily just place it back but they all look pretty terrible unfortunately. I tried for a few hours to make it work but I gave up lol
TheBlindClown My camp disappeared the other day, but I think I'd built it in a 'nice' location that would be popular with other players (the lakeside near Riverview Manor, close to a copper deposit). Rather than have that happen again I’ve relocated somewhere slightly more random in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully a patch of land that won’t get built on by other people. (I started building in the middle of nowhere and, typically, I was five minutes into the build when a couple of other players appeared and started a fight with a bunch of vertibots. I ended up in a sea of debris. But it was okay once the fires died down).
@@VAULT-TEC_INC. "can not place item: needs support" I cant place blueprints anywhere, I need to rebuild from scratch each time and being anal about things lining up perfectly makes it take a long time to rebuild.

In your building plans guide, you asked where to get the decontamination arches. Can't you make the blueprints of them in build mode here? Just saw you walk through them around 6:30 or so - after finishing the reactor part.
How do you get the quest to start the event? I have the quest but it’s not an event and it just says power up monongah power plant. No quest progress bars, won’t let me repair any of the pipes or anything.
So ive taken over the workshop by the poseidon power station. How do I repair the power station becos I'm there now and nothings coming up I can't find where to repair anything it all looks normal?
It would be nice if Betheada actually gave us a damn option to activate it. I take the ammo plant and I wanna power up the stuff there with the power box but it says the power plant needs powered up for it to work, I go there and there's no way to force start the event to turn the damn place on.
Chimneys at a nuclear plant? Cooling towers. Strangely enough power plants do have lines to bring power in. Not self sufficient all year round. Do need to be refueled with fresh fissile material.
i recieved the windmill plan from Monogah, Fusion generator from Poseidon, large generator i got during the Mainline quest not sure which part, i just got it yesterday.
Question. Will you have to do this every time you log on or once you do it for a location one time it keeps the power on for you the rest of the game? Since they count as events I was thinking you have to do them each time but I'm not sure
no they're only powered up for a certain period and would need to be repeated - but there's not really much point as it only provides power to the surrounding area and not your camp.
Question. Noticed at the end, you have the barn set plan, did that actually work for you? I have bought 2 cause after the first one, it wouldn't let me build any, found/bought another, and now it won't let me read the 2nd plan I bought. So, I'm out 190 caps. Also, I found metal set plan, which worked. So, I'm just confused why barn doesn't.
@@DefiedFaith I know where it is in the build menu. I just still has the lock emblem on it. It also says "Find the blueprints to build this" or whatever it says, not the "Build on foundation" I've unlocked it and even have an extra set of plans.
