Two of us set out on an overnight journey down the "Assawaga River." One local bather was warning us of low water levels and beaver dams downriver. We decided to carry on anyways. A little paddling and a few drags later, we found a place to settle down for the night and cook some out of state chili in a dutch oven. The next day began earlier than usual thanks to a disgruntled deer in the woods nearby. We pushed and dragged our way back to deep enough water to paddle to the end. Thank you for witnessing our struggles and victories. Don't try this at home.
