Umbridge is sickening in both the books and the movies...but Imelda Staunton took the sickening vibe and amplified it with her mad skills. Thing is, there are many people in government on both sides of the pond that are waaay too similar to Umbridge in terms of "wanting to protect the children," covering their rear ends and lying outright to their constituents, which Ms Rowling made evident with the Ministry of Magic. Therefore Madam Staunton had many real life sources to study. If Umbridge the character was an O.W.L. exam, Imelda Staunton aced it.

I've met Imelda Staunton in a book store in London few years ago. She was nice enough for me to just shake hands with her, take a picture together and I told her that I'm a fan and I politely said to her "I hate you in Harry Potter" she laughed hard when I said that to her, she responded "I know, I hate Umbridge too". Yes Imelda hates Umbridge as much as we all do 😂😂
She's a nice person irl, i enjoyed meeting her for just about 5 minutes. I hope i get to see her again someday 🤗

McGonagall's interactions with Umbitch in the books are THE BEST! For exmple, there was this scene where Peeves was trying to unscrew a chandelier so that it lands on Umbitch when McGonagall passed by. They both just paused to look at each other for a sec and McGonagall told Peeves "It unscrews the other way" 🤣
Oh yeah! I loved that line, it really shows McGonagall as a whole :D

@@myersbabe24 She was always fun to read about and watch as she just takes kver the entire school with politics supporting her while everyone else hates her but is unable to do anything. Her sadistic nature as well combined with her innocent appearance just makes her one of my favourite characters.
@@Minipsil3 I can agree that she's a pretty interesting character, just unlikeable as a person. She does bring a little "kick" in and gives the Movies (didn't read the books ;c) some new energy, which is enjoyable. I still just hate her as person xD
@@myersbabe24 I can definitely understand why other people hate her because if you are more rooting for Harry or someone, you probably will feel like he is utterly helpless and unable to do anything because she has complete control and no sympathy. But I just found myself enjoying her character more so never developed any hatred for her. If she was real and I was in Harry's situation I definitely wouldn't want to meet her though.
