If you had to choose again, would you rather take the white again vs the blue dial again? Thinking of getting one myself but haven’t chosen between those two colors 😅
i have owned a Reef GMT now for about 2-3 months. First wanted in black (since the stunning blue degradé found with the normal Reef is not available for the GMT), but then got white for versatility reasons. It is simpy sooo well crafted! My other timepieces have got close to zero cufftime since then...
i got the reef GMT and OMG!!! The finishing, the quality ,the feel everything is spot on and perfect. There is no play with the bracelet or bezel , there is no squeky sound anywhere. The weight is just right. Changing strap is easy as heck with the quick release and there is microadjustment too. the look is very masculine and everything is insanely good compared to my OMEGA speedmaster where the bracelete is squeaky and pulling hair. Definitely you get more for the price.
Before you made this video, or before I saw the Formex White 39mm available in your shop, I ordered it directly from the Formex website on a Monday morning. By Wednesday afternoon it arrived at my USA address directly from Switzerland! I love my 39mm white dial Formex - I think it is the most attractive variation in its lineup. It is great value for the money. It has a certain timeless, classic appeal. The only negative thing I can say, is that the tool Formex supplied with the watch to adjust the bracelet was of very cheap quality. It broke while using it. Fortunately I had another little screwdriver that I used to remove the links.
It's beautiful for sure and now a perfect size too. Very unique in parts as well with the case design and bracelet. Amazing work with the video too, the cinematography was on point.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. amzwatch brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
With many watches (and other items for that matter) looking very similar to others It's nice to see a brand appear to take inspiration from others (Omega Aqua Terra dial for instance) but still build a watch that is different enough to be well different. For the price it looks like a great value watch. Great videography as well Teddy.
Great info as always Teddy, COSC cert at this price with that finishing is pretty hard to beat, I've been looking for a sub 2k to replace my current daily, this looks like a great option!
Thanks for showing, Teddy! I absolutely agree that Formex plays above its own price segment in terms of fit & finish. The reason for that may be also the fact that their mother brand is a industry supplier since many years that also delivers clasps for Hublot for example. Yes, Hublot - and that is definitely not the only brand that will source some parts from them. So you can really feel the details when handling their latest models and their strive to quality and perfection. In this price segment they're quite unique imho. Comparable to Christopher Ward which is the below $1000 king of truly Swiss Made watches imho.
I bought a blue 43mm version a while back and the crown felt broken. Replacement watch had the same issue. I'm really tempted to pick the white 39mm shown here and give it another chance. Decisions....
True, as listed, but as with most watch companies and movement manufacturers that reserve is often understated. I have the new Essence 43mm (love it) and in multiple power reserve timings, usually over a weekend when I wear something else, it has consistently posted a power reserve of right around 42.5 hours.
Beware. If you have hairy arms, this watch WILL rip your arm hairs out. Its not even the bracelet, its the suspension case. Ive had mine a month and already thinking of selling it. Other than that tho, I love it.
I’m only recently diving into learning about this brand after Teddy interviewed a guy from the company. I was imitating not interested due to the modern styling. But the more I look at the Essence 39, the more I think of it as “a poor man’s Aqua Terra.” And that’s not a criticism. The price on these, spec for spec, beats the luxury brands. Do I wish they looked a little more classic? Yeah. That’s the only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger (I am, after all, actually not a wealthy man, so I’m looking for one GADA watch). Those screws…I actually wish they weren’t there, even though that means losing the Formex shock protection system. I just don’t really think there’s much need for it, and those screws push the look a tad too industrial for me. Rather than grab a used luxury watch, or “settle” for a Hamilton-type watch, I will just keep pondering those AND the Essence 39, and see where I land. Thanks, Teddy!
Funny I feel about Formex as I do about Spring Drive, I respect and admire them but I don't lust after them, gotta give props for some groovy engineering tho...The white dial really gets away from the (to me) slightly cheesy tactical vibe of the carbon and black ones. Great date window too.
Ok we have another cosc certified timepiece. wow amazing. I was only aware of Rolex previously but now day by day my knowledge is expanding . Thanks to you sir
@@tatanleanduck that was a small phase where I grew bored with watches, I’m now interested and invested in watches again. Looks like life came full circle lol
Thats a cool watch Teddy! Would you say the finish on the watch is better than the Tissot Gentleman? Please let me know. Been looking at the Tissot recently.
Hey Teddy didn't know where I could send you a direct message. So excuse me for asking you this question here. I bought a SRPC91 Seiko Turtle Save the Ocean from Kohl's. It's the only place that had it at the time. When it came the watch seemed small for 45" diameter. So I'm worried. Does Kohl's sell knockoffs? Are Seiko watches sold by Kohl's authentic? I figured as a watch expert you would be a good person to ask. Maybe the Seiko Turtle Save the Ocean SRPC91 just "wears small"? Even if it is 45" diameter ?
Few questions: 1. I see some nicks and dings, is it a finishing issue or just a everyday wear marks? 2. Do you still offer a free strap with this watch purchase? Thanks! Love the channel as always
You aren’t going to buy Many watches then, you won’t get a SW300 much under $1000? . I would always take the SW3000 / ETA 2892 every day. Best manufacture for ETA 2892 use is Longines who use a modified and improved version called the L888.4 . Steinhart do use the SW3000 gmt in some Watches around $750?
Right where you say that the case work is great @3:00 the video shows dents in the bracelet and later dents and scratches in the bezel and case... not a good look.
Formex "...has recently been reintroduced with some new logos, some new dial colors, as well as different case options..." How about a new name? "Formex" sounds like some sort of heavy industry foundry - or, not to be indelicate, an improved Kotex. Just no.
@@awax2585 Rolex and Timex aren't derived from verbs that have no connection with timing. Whoever decided that name should have pondered for another 10 seconds.
@@awax2585 Rolex, only because it's been around so long. But let's be honest, Timex isn't a great name either, and just sounds cheap. "Fomex" is a horrible, horrible name.
Teddy, love your videos, but it's tough for me to take this review as genuine. You really loose credibility when you're reviewing a watch that you sell for profit on your website. Sorry, but just my perception.
Nice watch, appalling brand name, irritating video. At what time does the video show a full, stable image of the dial? Sufficient to be able to read ‘Swiss Made’ at the bottom of the dial. Hmm…. watch and learn
Just got my 39 in white the other day. Stunning in person, zero flaws and very much lives up to the hype.

Had to happen to look back at some older videos of yours.
You've come along way.
Well done !!
I love the Formex, especially with the white dial. I do see a hard competition in the Chistopher Ward C63 Sealander.
This is better than the sea lander, and pushes Monta
The white dial is great looking but I really like the degradé dial the most.
@@denisdaly1708 I think Formex is way sportier than Monta so I wouldn’t really cross shop these two

I've been considering a Formex for some time as it seems like a great value. Love the white dial!
how much is the suspension feature a dead skin / dirt trap? Can it be cleaned out easily?
Is this 39 too small for 7.75 ?
The red wine just came out, and I’m wondering if I should wait for the 43
I wonder how the suspension system will hold up over time
Push pull crown?
Hey teddy do you have one of these in the new silver dial to show people on camera?
This would go swimmingly with my great white omega seamaster.
