Formex hit it out of the park with this watch. The dimensions, finishing and level of detail are just superb for the price PLUS it is COSC certfied. Just brilliant. Very fortunate to own one.
Man, your editing is on f***ing point! Love how your videos keep evolving! I have stumbled upon this watch a couple of times. It is definitely something special and that's despite bearing that weird, washing powder like, brand name. Well done!
I would enjoy it if you did music-only reviews as tag alongs to your regular reviews. I could play them at house parties where lots of people (i.e., my two friends) could appreciate your audio/visual excellence. Well done as always.
I love the suspension system. If one's arm is inadvertently detached by an explosive device, and lands after parabolic flight clasp-down on a hard surface, such as a sunny patio or a tank, then rest assured that one's Formex Essence will remain un-shocked. Good to know and thanks for the research.
Hi, I discovered your channel recently and I subscribed ! I love your work : the quality of the videos, the music, the choice of watches ... special mention to this video (I like formex) and to your video on the Cartier Tank Must. Greetings from France.
You can use the extension to lengthen or shorten the bracelet without removing the watch ... Given that the extension is on the side that you have to open first, you can just open half the clasp, extend it and close again.... to shorten it without taking the watch takes a couple tries to master, but once you learn how it works, it's easy ... you can extend the bracelet in 3 to 5 seconds, and get it back to normal in under 10 seconds. Yep... I love that feature.
They are doing cool stuff recently. I'm really intrigued by their last two releases, this one (in blue^^) and the Reef. Cool video and man that lume shoot at 5:42 STUNNING :-)
Like the others said, your visual content was very enjoyable but what stands out for me is your audio content, especially your tone, articulation and wit! I would like to see your take on the Formex Reef.
Great looking, COSC certified, adjustable bracelet, 39mm, $1300, comparable to the aqua terra…what’s not to like?! Seems to me Formex hit it out of the park with this one!
the bracelet is comparable to watches at that price for sure. Its executed absolutely superb. And despite never touching an Omega / Rolex / anything 5-10k price bracelet, I am sure it would beat some of those, too
@@michaelchimenti4989 Still worth every buck, believe me if you don't own one. I haven't got the Essence, but the Reef GMT, and the amount of love to detail on these pieces is absolutely outstanding for a Microbrand. The only one thing that I like more about my Hydroconquest is that this one has a silicon hairspring. but literally everything else is pointing towards the Formex.
Very good shots and edition. And the watch is fantastic, starting with the 39mm size. It is fine that the brands are in the big-size wave, but they could think on the, perhaps, few of us that still love 40mm and below. they should always offer at least two sizes on their catalog. So, kudos to Formex
Love this watch but I wished they ditched the gimmicky suspension feature. The amount of force necessary needed to actuate that element isn’t realistic. Kind of also wish they just included half links to get a proper fit instead of the clasp extension that creates that unsightly gap. In any case, great review as always 👍🏼
I actually am digging formex watches. Have been considering the essence or reef, both look sweet and seem to be well built would love to see this green on the reef
Teddy Baldassarre is a trusted dealer of Formex, and he has four review of the watches on RUclips. To me this is an apparent conflict of interest - Baldassarre has a financial interest in giving the brand a positive review. I'm glad that you have no such conflict.
I will buy this watch some day. Was lusting after the blue dial for a while after the 39mm came out, but actually bought an Aqua Terra 38mm instead. I don't need both... Or do I? 🤔
Uh, I don't know which one to go for either ( both as well?). Isn't Formex only available online so it's not possible to try one on at an AD? Hope you're enjoying the AT.
Cool watch, but the price kills it! I'm going better for the TISSOT BALLADE POWERMATIC 80 COSC, is on sale at Amazon (US) for less than $500, that is less than half of the Essence and it is COSC too! :)
I have a black dial Ballade on a leather strap, and I also have the Essence in blue, on the bracelet. They are very very different watches, I like them both.
On every review of this watch I seem to find clear visible specks of dust on either the hands, the dial or both. Something I can't say about other brands at this price point tbh.
I think the dial and case might actually be more attractive than the Aqua Terra, especially given the rectangular baton indices. There's something about the chunky, brushed bracelet that looks boxy and inelegant. A bit more thought into the bracelet design, and we could be onto a real winner, especially given those specs.

Well… I’ll take it.
Brown nosing much? ;-)

Maybe this will help with the brand name. Formex=forme extreme, French for extreme shape.
@@jimlittle5769 ah, french makes everthing sound elegant! haha it does actually help! thanks man!
Each shot was beautiful! Great job, as always.
Thanks so much
Every shot is just perfect, great use of colours and amazing tunes!

Great review! Formex watches are constructed very well, I’m glad they slimmed this model down to 39mm. Keep up the great work man.
Best Review on the watch with a good way of not just using marketing language but an own, user oriented way of feedback

I bought this watch because of this video. Great decision.

It's not compareable to the omega aqua terra, but it's a very nice watch.
the bracelet is comparable to watches at that price for sure. Its executed absolutely superb. And despite never touching an Omega / Rolex / anything 5-10k price bracelet, I am sure it would beat some of those, too
Just one year later and the same watch is now $1590, unfortunately.

I was considering to buy it in blue, but the green on your wrist make me hesitate ^^
you make every watch look so good seiko should hire you to take pictures of their watches
Ohhh, didn’t know that a white dial was coming. I want that. Great video as usual!
This is all very aesthetic, great work 👌
as you reviewed both of them, and they have similar dimensions, which one do you prefer, the Formex or the Monta?
I can’t answer for you. Depends on your collection and style. I don’t own either so 🤷🏻♂️
Never heard or seen of this watch or brand before. Excited to watch.
Me too since december last year. Then I ordered it and still am amazed by the quality.
Really good stuff.
This brand really doesn't do anything for me, but I'm really here for the sikk edit and the fantastic music, as per usual.
Maybe I should just make music videos.

One of my favorite sport watches I've seen. Modern and masculine.
It’s cool
Great review as always. I got the black one and really like it. Perfect everyday / office watch!
I think you’re right. Thanks.
Amazing shot composition and editing
Awesome video as always Evan!

2:13 - the shape is very similar in design to Casio Oceanus T200S, minus the screws.
Wear true to 39 or smaller? 7.25 in wrist torn between 39 and 43
Good review. You should credit the music: Above All by HOME
If I could find the green "reef" at a discount I will jump on it!

Great review, thanks. Closest looks to me is Seiko Samurai. It's a good looking watch.
terrific review as always!
Thanks
Great to see a dress/sports watch that 6.5-in. wrists can wear. BTW, does the watch have the patent number stamped on it?
mans is making terrific youtubes
Great video, cool watch as well.well done👍
I'd like for the crown to be screw-in, for that piece of mind.
Biiggggg Aqua Terra vibes here
For sure
love this watch
Funkiest watch reviews on RUclips!
That green dial is really something else, is this your favourite green dial thus far?
Can you review a watch with a purple dial next? :)
That bracelet 😍
Did something go wrong during the render? There's a lot of artifacting.
i notice there's pixel tearing in the video. is it intentional?
How does this compare to the Monta Noble?
I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on one. What's everyone's favorite color? I'm between the blue and green.
Blue
Just today I was thinking about your channel and when would the next video come!

I’ll never tell.
