And done ready to get this game started with my 5 kids. We are gonna modify a bit for enemies but we are so excited to start this journey. We played talisman for years and it has been good to us but this game I feel will be even better.
I hope y’all have so much fun! Don’t be afraid to modify the default difficulty setting for at least the first several scenarios. Gloomhaven is notoriously difficult at the beginning!
Just reached the end of these 4 videos. Thank you again. Such a great series and so helpful. Playing the first game this evening and feel ready. Obviously, one for down the line but one question regarding character retirement. You seemed to be suggesting that on retirement any retired character action cards become available for your new character? So if, for example, you retired a Brute at level 2....would the active Brute action cards then become available to your new character? And if so...I’m guessing that only happens on retirement, and not simply on switching of new characters
A class’ action cards are always available to all characters of that class. If they weren’t it would be pretty much impossible to field more than one character of a class in the same campaign. The cool thing is this means the enhancements you purchase for cards carry over to your new character in that class. A little bit of a New Game+ feel to it. Good question and thanks for watching the whole series, Lloyd!
Played the first game earlier in the week. Loved it. The other players were amazed how many rules I knew without having to look at the book. So thank you again!
One further thing from me as I’m a bit confused by this response Actually...make that 2 things: 1. Can I change characters at any time? I’m obviously aware you can’t change to characters not yet available. But for arguments sake...if I complete Black Barrow (Scenario 1) with the Brute. Could I then change character (to for example...the mind thief) to complete scenario 2?
And my second point is....Are there different characters in the same class? If so, great. Assume they become unlocked later as game progresses as I can’t see any of the first 6 characters are in the same class
I'm waiting for my delivery of Gloomhaven, and it's great seeing the rules explained in such a clear way. I'm looking forward to it, and the rules being explained like this has been so helpful. Thanks so much.
New to the game. Thank you for the vids. Q: The Tinkerer has a card that summons a decoy. Does it play like a monster and attack with a modifier card from the character deck? Or because it has no attack does it only move 2 each turn and take 6 hits?
Bored Online? Board Offline! Yes, I have problem with when to draw the two event cards, but other videos out there just talked around the basic stuff. Keep up the good work, I enjoyed all your KDM playthru also.
@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline I was getting ready for our day one session - had to put aside some things but I needed to get through so I could make sure I knew what was happening so our first scenario didn't take 10 hours! Good news, it only took 3 and we won by the last hand on the last non-exhausted character.
The BEST series of videos describing a tabletop games.
Thank you, Pablo! I really appreciate it!
Seen all 4 videos, A really good guide, thank you!

That’s fantastic to hear! Thanks for letting me know 🙂. Out of curiosity what classes did everyone go with?
One further thing from me as I’m a bit confused by this response

It has no attacks.by rules it moves using monster ai. But many house rules have the player controlling it
Yeeees, very clear tutorial just like other videos.
Thanks a lot.
So glad you found it clear, Brian! Thanks for watching!
