Malcolm had a VISION to take over FOUR all BLACK SCHOOLS in NY that were FAILING and make them WORLD CLASS. wondered why no one picked up that TASK and RAN WITH IT? loved HER FEELINGS: BLACKS STAND HEAD AND SHOULDERS WITH EVERY CULTURE on the PLANET, inspite of slavery. no need to feel BAD ABOUT themselves, at all. THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS and INGENUITY. is WORLD-WIDE. and, SPEAKS VOLUMES.

I don't think I've ever heard her speak. I can clearly see why Malcolm was her partner; she was no nonsense, loyal, and very clever, so they were equally yoked. I remember when she died so tragically in 1997. My grandmother had just been diagnosed with cancer and only lived about 6 weeks after Betty Shabazz, although we didn't know it at the time. She didn't speak English, but saw the images of Mrs. Shabazz on the screen, and I explained the story to her. After some time in the hospital, she died and one of the last things my grandmother said before losing speech entirely was that "at least she was done with what must've been a lot of pain". She was empathetic, but this sounded almost envious on top of it, and even though I was young, I remember thinking she must be in a lot of pain herself to sound this way. 💔 Betty Shabazz did not have an easy life, or, death. I hope her beloved met her on the shores of the afterlife, and God was pleased with them. I pray the same for my nan with the children she lost before I was born; she had bouts of intense sadness. I can't help but imagine that she was talking about more than just the physical pain.

Rest In Power King Malcolm, Queen Betty, and King Malcolm Shabazz, their grandson who was murdered in Mexico. She didn't understand how they would further divide and conquer Black people worldwide. Not every Black person needs be supported by the Black collective. There are those who have taken the kind of money and authority that Malcolm declined. Angela Davis' position on numerous issues including feminism, homosexuality and the place of Black men in terms of Black women is one of them.

Of course there are. Mrs. Shabazz would be a unicorn in any era. She also had a unicorn in Malcolm who appreciated her as a human. Today, men wouldn't give her a chance to find out her virtues. Men are choosing the most exotic looking, women showing their bodies and expecting sex before marriage. Men say they want a Betty, but are really looking for something else. What she said was true then and now..."you brothers don't sit still long enough for [them] to show you"...even though she had a real man, she clearly knew what time it was.

In later years when she was at a funeral . Rudolph Giuliani showed up, people began to boo. Betty Shabazz told them to stop booing because Guiliani is a friend of hers. In some ways she was stupid. She was one of those people from the Rodney King play book of can't we all just get along. But, she has been through quite a bit of emotional pain, but not the brightest bulb on the tree.
