Ah yes, that can be a total pain! I attach mine off-centre so that I can still remove the battery and my camera has USB charging, (however the camera has to be off for that and isn't always helpful if the battery dies mind shoot). Let me know what you think of the wireless!
Why use the MIOPS? if you are using for shutter release and you are using Capture One in live view, just shoot from Live View in Capture One. One less connection and piece of gear to worry about.
Hey David. You are right, you can use the shutter in Capture One when tethering. With food photography however, if I can photographing and styling on my own then on some occasions, I need to be at the food plating, pouring, fluffing, garnishing etc and can't be at the camera/computer simultaneously so this really helps me either get action/pour shots or capture freshly plated food that requires finessing. I'm not into unnecessary gear, so don't use the MIOPS for simple shoots, but it's been a game-changer for me with many types of recipes. Hope that helps a little!
Just started with tethering and I love it!
It's such a game-changer isn't it! What do you love the most about tethering?
@@Twolovesstudio I love the size of the screen, easier to see the focus as it is larger.
@@Twolovesstudio having the laptop away from the scene, and using artificial light, it is easier to assess the effect of the light
thank you!
You're welcome!
My digitechs loving using the Area 51 thether cables and for them, a tetherblock is required hardward to keep the connection safe. Love this video!
I've adored my Area 51 cable! Thanks for watching, Matt.
Great video. Thank you. Love your content
Thanks for watching!
Do the tethering blocks work with manfrotto tripods? I have a pan-and-tilt head.
The one I use do because my two primary tripods are Manfrotto :)
I love the tetherblock but I cant change my battery from it so I am thinking to buy the new wireless tethering grip from canon

Can Cannon camera use this too?
Which piece of gear are you looking to use on the Canon? Most of this equipment can be used on a Canon camera (or other brands), but let me know!
