- It’s now been over six months since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th, when more than 1100 Israelis were killed and over 200 taken hostage. These were mostly civilians. While the Israel-Hamas War has been ongoing since that day, the repercussions of that attack have also been keenly felt here in America in the form of a surge in antisemitism. On college campuses, and in communities across the country, Jews have felt targeted, threatened, and frightened. Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League or ADL, a Jewish civil rights organization, joins The Excerpt to talk about the issues. Next Sunday's episode will feature an interview with Nihad Awad, the national executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights organization.

When you go to these campuses and you hear chants of "from the river to the sea" which means the call for a genocide of the entire Israeli people, that's everything wrong with these protests.
Unlike many other relationships the US has, the US gets intelligence and tech from Israel among other things. Further, Israel is now fighting a front of a war in the US’s interest. That is, the US also doesn’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons.
Meanwhile how many kids have died in Gaza? Is it antimestic to ask that the childern of Gaza are spared?
No one knows how many children or women have been killed in Gaza....and no one knows how many Hamas has killed and blamed it on Israel. To believe anything the PLO, Hamas, or their supporters tell you is like believing Hitler in 1942.

Attempting to deflect outrage over a humanitarian crisis and an apartheid state into anti-semitism isn't taking hold. People can see what's happening with their own eyes. In the 90's he helped fund Hamas and their rise to power when Arafat and the PLO were actually on a path towards peace with Israel. And why did he do that you ask? People seem to forget that during the Clinton administration, we were close to having a two state solution, but things fell through and that ultimately didn't happen.
Most of the protestors aren't anti-sememtic, but let's face it. Some of them them are. As an American who's part Jewish ethnically, I find it hyprocritical that a lot of youth went out to protest racism and some of them were riotors. Those same rioters and rioting supporters four years ago would be anti-semetic, today. Their true colors have finally been shown.

I absolutely understand that Jewish people in the US feel vulnerable and attacked, since their identity is emmeshed with that of Israel, and since public demonstrations criticizing Jewish people have ghastly historical precedents. That said, even if this war came out of the blue on October 7th (it did not), and even while Hamas was the instigator of that attack, Israel has retaliated by killing 30 times as many people, in a manner suggesting Israel doesn't consider any of the population of Gaza to be 'civilian'. This is perfectly in line with the public rhetoric of the Israeli government for the last 20 years.
Jewish friends tell me they want Israel to plough ahead 'until the job is done'. When I ask 'what is the job and when will it be done?' there is no answer. These friends are not morons. Are they supporting something they don't understand? Or are they silent because they know the answer is indefensible?
They don't show the wonen who cannot pray or must pray in a different area of the Wall.

Apparently, the vast majority of commenters didn't bother watching the video? The guest addresses these complaints and makes a clear distinction between protesting the genocide in Gaza and the hate crimes that have risen in conjunction with (and long predated), these protests.
But they can only speak in bad faith arguments, so of course they will continue to raise the "so you're saying protest is antisemitism" arguments. If they were actually knowledgeable and nuanced, then they wouldn't even be protesting.
We read the title. If they didn't want dispersions cast upon the reporting, hire a better title writer. Are they a middle school news paper?

Antisemitism has been an issue since the Mongols launched their invasion of Europe. And yes, it is surging again, particularly in the United States. But using it as defensive cloak to block any criticism of the murder being committed by Israel against Palestinians right now cannot be, must not be sanctioned or supported.

I am a Christian, therefore I stand with Israel! Romans 11:1-5 says that Israel is still God's chosen nation. What is happening is fulfilling God's word. God says in Zechariah 12:2-3, "Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes staggering to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about on that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will injure themselves severely. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it." And then, in Zechariah 14:2-4, the Lord says, "For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be taken, the houses plundered, the women raped, and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be eliminated from the city. Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. Heres the Good news though, God loved you enough to send his only son into the world in the flesh to be crucified for our sins..yes that's right christ was sinless and bore our sins in his body, because without the shedding of blood there could be no remission of sin. So he was crucified on our behalf he was dead 3 days and then rose from the dead, victorious having defeated death, and now is seated at the right hand of God interceding on the behalf of the beilever. So that whoever repents of their sins and puts their faith and trust in Jesus christ as lord and savior, will be saved from the judgment of hell and will have everlasting life with God for eternity. I don't know the history between Palestine and Israel, but I know what happened on October 7, of last year wasn't soldiers fighting other soldiers. It was a terrorist attack on civilians pure and simple. My son graduates from college in a couple of months. He didn't have a high school graduation because of covid, and I'm getting a little pissed that these protests could cause him to miss another graduation. These people need to understand that no matter what, when or how they protest in America, it will have zero impact on this ongoing conflict. If they feel so strongly about it, they should hop the next flight to Palestine and join up with Hamas and see who's the last man standing. Somehow, I think the commitment doesn't run that deep.

Half the deaths on October 7th were military personnel, that’s a far better ratio than the death toll in Gaza which is 80 to 90% civilians. So who are the terrorists again?
