- College students are continuing to protest the Israel-Hamas war. At New York City's Columbia University, where an encampment of students first made headlines, tensions are high and negotiations between students and administrators are stalled.

This is the peaceful adult conversation that needs to be had with the students (and their benefactors in some instances) - there is a choice to not enroll in such colleges and a choice for the colleges to clean their investments of controversial financial associations. It's also an opportunity for schools to attract students who agree with their financial values. I think a lot of student transfers and changes in collegiate funding/investments should happen because of this.
It`s already old news.
Our university, colleges and schools leadership should recognize freedom of expression, freedom from oppressive systems, and freedom to challenge authority are exactly what we teach our students are the basic tenets of our representative democracy. Use of excessive force in form of private security forces, campus police, state troops, etc., against students is not a good look for our state and country!

Actually, it's pro justice. Palestinians deserve equal rights in the land they were displaced and excluded from. Not "separate but equal" but actual equally. Not you don't belong here because we colonized your land, and your existence doesn't fit our agenda. No more Palestinian concentration camps. No more bulldozing Palestinian homes and farms. No more separate Palestinian IDs (remember the yellow stars?). No more denying Palestinians access to any part of Israel, including roads, settlements, services, and voting. Palestinians must have the same rights as all other citizens in Israel, just as all colonized people everywhere else must have equal rights it the land they were displaced and excluded from.
The idea of creating a Jewish settler state in the Middle East was at least as stupid as the movement to send blacks back to Africa, but here we are. What happened to the Jewish people of Europe was absolutely horrific. However, those people had not lived in the Middle East for a couple thousand years. There is no justification for what Israel has and is doing to the people they pretend never existed (a land without a people).

The school president should warn all of the students and staff that attend this university. If you want to graduate this semester, and if you get arrested you will not be welcome back here to walk down to your diploma!! That includes any staff member that get arrested.

Can someone please help me understand something? I completely understand and empathize with the desire to end the genocide that is currently happening in Gaza. What's happening there is horrific, and utterly heartbreaking. What I don't understand is why the protests are happening at college campuses, in particular. Why there, specifically? What are protest at college campuses going to achieve, exactly? The colleges have no control over the government officials, nor foreign affairs, to my knowledge. So why are these protests taking place at these types of locations? I'm a bit baffled.

HAMAS uses improvised explosive devices, short- and long-range rockets and mortars, small arms, kidnapping operations, rocket-propelled grenades, man-portable air defense systems, antitank missiles, and unmanned aircraft systems in attacks against Israeli military forces and civilians, .......Unfortunately, hamas uses civilian clothes or dress as Healthcare workers, journalists...that is well known. They also hide in tunnels under civilian structures to shoot rockets. I am very interested in your answer.
