Quick note - the video sample at 15:11 was a bit messed up by the editing! It doesn't actually look like that when panning. Update - started using the PixelDust A13 Rom (Oct. 2022 patch) and it's arguably better optimised than Pixel Experience!
@@kirigayakazuto9290 mine's on Android 13, PixelDust Rom currently. No issues so far except the RAM management, I would definitely say root the phone and flash a ZRam magisk module, and add at least 4-6GB. It really struggles without it. Also the camera noise is still an issue so I found a good GCam port that works well enough and cleans up the photos, I can link it below if you're interested 👍.
@@kirigayakazuto9290Hey, sorry for the late response. Yeah I used it on Android 12 for a few weeks but moved to Android 13 Custom ROMs, and I definitely prefer those but they do eat through RAM like there's no tomorrow!
I m using pixel 3 xl from 2019 still working very well zero problem , perfect smartphone ever made by google , only ram issues sometimes but u can fix it with zram magisk module. Otherwise phone is great and light & wide screen with cute notch, also super duper camera 🤩
@@mformetro i'm also using pixel experience android 13 very stable 🙂 + rooted magisk and too fix the ram issues i flashed Qti memory optimisation v7.1 6gb zram 🙃+4gb ram
I'm using my 3 XL as my 4 XL needed a battery change. It's a nice phone with a nice display and speakers. The issue that i have is the lack of ram compared to my 4 XL. Apps crash a lot now on the 3 XL
@@mformetro Only down side for me is, no wireless charging, I forgot to check before I bought it. The battery, which started our as decent but not spectacular, has got even better the more the device has got familiar with my usage.
using my lovely pixel 3 , with ressurection remix A10 , i use it as a gaming device ( with some mods ofc ) and photography is better than iphone 11 in some case ... the only big issue is the battery life and outdated screen quality
Yeah I miss some parts of my Pixel 3 XL, especially the design. Such a clean phone and the camera was indeed fantastic, especially with a longer exposure!
i know its 2024 but im wondering is the pixel 3xl still worth it? i have a choice between galaxy s20FE and Google Pixel 3XL, what do you think is a better option?
@@landen2482 mate, easily I'd take the S20 FE. Better camera, more recent chip, 120Hz screen, bigger battery. The 3XL is two years older and since I reviewed it mine hasn't been as smooth as it was last year.
I think I had updated my android to 12 in apr 2022 it's been one year Android official stock Android 12 is solid and almost optimised for pixel 3xl no any major issues I have noticed yet
Look at how to flash TWRP on your Pixel then go to whichever ROM you wanna use (e.g. Pixel Experience, PixelDust etc.) and flash that, should be a zip file. Yeah, the white one was £13.50, still kinda amazed it even works. Still, wouldn't recommend paying that unless you're prepared for issues (black phone developed a screen issue and it's cracked as well hence the price).
My phone has slowed down a bit since my review and I'd really look into finding a workaround for the RAM issues, but otherwise I'd say it's still worth it, fixing mine as we speak ✌️
Story Time: I got an iPhone 8, to get a feeling for iOS and let's just say that the ram management blew me away. It was definitely comparable to the Google Pixel 4 Xl (sometimes better) with less than half the ram! Moral of the story: Google's ram management is terrible....
Yeah the iPhones from what I've heard are so much better on literally half the ram, it's kinda sad... That being said I've recently flashed a ZRam magisk module on this phone to add another 6GB of memory and it's working! Not amazing but a lot better than before.

Still rocking my 3xl and got no issues with it or the notch,I love the contrast it gives when I use a light wallpaper.
Honestly, I've spent 6 months now with this notch and I really like the look of it. Agree about the wallpapers too, find myself using lighter ones.
