NATURAL HAIR | DETANGLE IN UNDER AN HOUR?! (WOOD COMB)

  • I was very skeptical about this comb even after seeing tons of people rave about it...BUT I'm on board now. I was able to detangle all this hair in under an hour. I think if I would have finger detangled more, I wouldn't have gotten as much fall out. I also didn't detangle that well the week before. I included an extra clip towards the end. I noticed after I cleansed my hair, I didn't have much shed hair in the shower. I'll be added this tool to my hair regimen, ensuring though that I finger detangle a little before. I think this will take me at 1 1/2 hours but after a few sessions, it should become easier and take me back under an hour.

    I love my wood comb. I have 4c hair, and it cut my detangling time by 20 minutes. I also noticed less breakage. Just make sure to dry it thoroughly, keep it oiled, and store it properly.

    If you mostly finger detangle your hair then you're not getting all of the shed hairs out. That may explain why you had more with the combs and then not much the next time you did your hair, you got all of the shed hair by combing it.

      Hey, It's Me - Naturally Exactly why I don't like using the comb. Alongside getting all those shed hairs, you get some hair that isn't dead. As of finger detangling, I get just enough to not have matted hair.

      Hey, It's Me - Naturally Yeah I totally agree I have tried strictly finger detangling and my hair tangled MORE unless I did it daily. I just got a wide tooth wooden comb because I'm tired of seeing shed hair dangling from my twists Lol

    I have using wooden combs for years and they really do get the shed hair out and are way better then plastic combs. My hair is almost tailbone 4a and I purchased my comb and wooden pic from amazon. I will also purchase from tans they produce top wooden combs.

    I typically shed a "hamster" before washing as well. LOL And then even more comes out during the washing process, and even after the wash (I tend to wide tooth comb one last time before styling). :) Looks like it's a good comb. Mine is from Hairsense (the bone volume comb, it is a wide tooth comb as well and very sturdy). I find the more sturdy the comb is, the better it goes.

      Marleen G. Is yours a wooden comb too? Going to search hairsense, you mentioned. I really want a new wooden brush.

    • @amixeblu
      @amixeblu 7 лет назад +3

      So3a, no it's a bone (resin) comb. Go to the Hairsense site, and search the bone combs for the volume comb (it is a wide tooth comb without a handle, but they have one with a handle too).

    What I find funny in all of this videos, they are exceptional don't worry, is that people always seem to be so concerned about the amount of shed hair. Like... especially when someone hasn't detangled their hair in 2 weeks... I mean... if we shed approximately 100 hair follicles per day, some shed more, some shed less, imagine after 14 days or so the amount of shed and dead hair you have on your head? You can't be seriously expecting to shed just a little, not to mention that finger detangling is good and all, but does it take all of your sheded hair as efficiently as a detangling brush? I don't think so.
    As for me, I do finger detangle to reduce obviously the breakage but I also use a detangling not only to catch the hair I missed while fdetangling but to distribute the hair better. Oh and I want to mention that I wash my hair every 4 days or so and I shed a lot of hair, since I was little, so sheding cannot always be that bad, Idk, some people just seem to demonize sheding hair... Chill :3

    Do you think some of the shedding could be attributed to using the small tooth comb?

    I just bought my first wood comb and brush set online yesterday!! Are you still a fan? I've been hearing not to detangle wet but to detangle with oil while dry, as our hair is weakest when wet. I bought some ACV and even the clay mask but something told me to hold off, even crazier I made a jar of rice water and just put it in the fridge holding off, now I see that all of those aren't good in the long run for our hair and some can be more harmful based on porosity. ANywho I ran across your vid in search of inspiration for this comb, after hearing how bad the plastic and metal combs are it was hard doing my hair today lol, I'm almost feeling some kinda way about my tangle teaser and my denman too with the static it might bring as well...but my shipment will be here this week so I'll survive. Hey if you do use it still- how do you clean them an do you oil them? Thanks for your time!

    I do not have the same texture hair you do. But I do have a sensitive scalp. So what I do to my hair as I put sunflower oil on and put my hair under a cap for an hour. By doing that it helps to detangling my hair and let the comb or brush go through my hair easier. Not sure if this will help you but I thought I would share the information.

    So did you get the combs from the Curls Club Link or from the Amazon links. And if from Amazon which Amazon link in particular? On the Curls Club site they had a Curl Detangler Signature comb then and Extra Wide One. Which one of those did you get if it was from them? Does the fact that the comb is wooden really make a difference opposed to it being plastic?? I can't really conceive of how it could, but i'm intrigued. I just ordered and am still waiting for my Felicia Leatherwood brush watching your videos, now you got me thinking bout this one and I ain't even got the F.L. one yet. You will not have me eating through my paycheck like a bag of Lay's potato chips!!

      bahaha!! You are too funny. No there was an ad running on Facebook for the wooden comb..I sent them photos of how fabulous my hair is and told them I needed that comb to review. haha So it was sent to me. It is similar to the comb on Amazon though. I honestly prefer the wooden comb over the Felicia Leatherwood..although that brush detangles better. Ryan Cook Because naturally curly hair is more prone to tangles...if you factor in thickness and/or matted hair your looking at hours to properly tangle. I usually drink wine to get through it. lol

      @@ryanc3890 Well, that's why!! Duh!! LOL. You're isn't as naturally kinky as someone with her/my type of hair so the comb, brush --- whatever ---- will glide through more easily, thus reducing your detangling time. It's hilarious to me how people will act like they don't know why there's differences in the processes people require in doing their hair and choosing to neglect to factor in major differences in hair texture. That's like a white person with bone straight hair telling you "I don't know why it takes YOU so long to do your hair??!!"
