LIFE SAVER!!! I was combing my hair wrong for the longest. I still have flash backs to combing my hair out and seeing the floor covered in my hair and all the split ends I gave myself...this was recent lol
You makes it look so easy! I forgot how to comb my hair after months of wash-and-gos. My hair extremely coily, so I was also choosing to stay away from combs. But this method is so simple, I will try this when my hair grows out.
I HAVE to detangle on wet hair lol.. My hair is coily so it is quick to tangle or get knots so I detangle mostly with a condish or deep condish on my hair then I soon have to do 2 strand twists or it will tangle right back up..lol. As I do my other steps I just do it section by section and twist it back up again.. I finger detangle 98% of the time and noticed less breakage. Thanks for sharing! :)
So I have been combing my hair the wrong way!:-( Thank you so much for sharing this! I always started at the root when combing n combing my hair when it's dry:-( My poor hair:-( Thank you so much n many Blessings to u n Your Family:-)

Hello DN, I am very tender headed and growing out my TWA for the first time has been challenging. With the number one being tender headedness and knots. I find the Dark and Lovely Anti-Shrinkage Au Naturelle Coil Moisturizer helps on wash day. Not to mention two strand twists. Although I have learned to comb my hair gently, videos like yours are great because they let me know I am not crazy and the issue is real. My other natural friends laugh and think I am trying to be funny, but I have got extra sensitive nerves on my head.
Sista gurl,, I am tender headed also. I hate combing my hair because of the pain and the breakage. I stop getting perms almost 5 or more years ago, because the chemical always burned my scalp. I will try finger combing.

I didn't think you could say anything new, but I really liked the way you explained this. You're right about the order of the steps being so important.
Thank you so much for making this, I usually hate combing my hair since I never knew how to do it problem and my mom isn't very gentle when she has to comb. This helps a lot :)
I comb my hair twice a month with a comb. The amount of shed hair that comes out collects in my comb. I will try your method. It seems to go smoother then when I do it.
I have sebhorric dermatitis and since the pandemic I haven't gone to the salon. But I've discovered that not getting a relaxer makes my dandruff go away. So no more relaxer for me...yay. Now I'm trying to learn how to manage natural hair without breaking it.

Great video. I rarely use combs but when I do it is a wide toothed one. It's usually when I'm about to tension blow dry since I don't use a comb attachment. Your fro is gorg! My hair is the opposite of thick so I can't really get a fro lol. I've never been tender headed either. It actually tickles when I get braids or something lol
My hair is short so I can't put it in twists before washing. They unravel themselves. So I try separating my hair bit by bit then I add my leave in. Then I comb from the roots gently to the top. In the end I see some hairs in the comb. I feel I might not retain length 😓
Nothing more beautiful than a woman who loves her natural hair.

Great video as usual. I enjoy finger detangling.
Rosemary Godwin - Ese Thanks. Me too.
NaturallyNeesh Thank you so much. Hey, do you get the shivers after getting your hair done by someone else? LOL!
Lol! Nope only wanna chuckle as they are doing it. So weird.
This really helped! Thanks a lot!!!!!

My hair is short so I can't put it in twists before washing. They unravel themselves. So I try separating my hair bit by bit then I add my leave in. Then I comb from the roots gently to the top. In the end I see some hairs in the comb. I feel I might not retain length 😓
Thanks for sharing what you do
i cosign on all of this! great tips.
