Homemade mayo made straight in the jar with an immersion blender is the best mayo you'll ever have.
It's also SUPER EASY to make.

When i was a child, my grandma made some mayonnaise out of rancid, disgusting old eggs that have been sitting in her fridge for who knows how long (she usually fed us and herself anything expired because she would rather "save the fresh ingredients for guests"). One bite of that with some potatoes made me choke and gag into a mess of snot and tears for a good 5 minutes, hated the stuff ever since.
Didn't help that my sister used to consume mayo as a standalone meal/drink, but I managed to overcome that particular trauma over time.
Now, I also just find it "inoffensive" but would never go out of my way to eat it.
Mayo on French fries is really good. Also don’t underestimate Mayo on a burger
I kinda understand what Scoot is getting it about how plain mayo is dull, but mayo and Dutch fries is a goated combo.
Make it with olive oil instead of seed oil and it elevates it a billionfold.
i prefer mayo over ketchup. mayo enhances other flavors. if you use ketchup you cant taste anything else
Yeah, I embrace my European origins and prefer Mayo on fries/chips over Ketchup.

Genuine question: Is "american" mayo just way more acidic than mayo in Europe? Because the only time I ever tried mayo from an american brand I instantly thought "So _this_ is why they think mayo on fries is disgusting…"
